19 Meet Jackie

I play with my legs under the tables as I eat dinner with my family and Jake . 

"So are you into any particular sport " ,My dad asks Jake, stopping the awkward silence that hovered around the table . 

Jake drops his spoon and looks up towards my dad to answer his question.

 " I am actually into swimming, but I just got into the team today ". 

" Wow that's great Jake , you know back in the days I used to be in my school's swimming team. I was actually the captain of the team . I almost went pro ".. this was my first time hearing dad talk about this , he never told me or josh about him being on a team when he was young . 

" What stopped you . Why didn't you go pro?", Josh asked curiously . 

" I got into an accident which led to a shoulder problem, I wasn't able to compete in the match . Therefore , I decided to follow another passion" . I could feel the sadness in my dad's voice when he spoke , he really missed his days of swimming..
