6 A Young Voice

Maiah after being abducted falls into unconsciousness, the stress of the was too much for such a young child of her caliber. Her small frame slumps in the arms of a boy around her age, wearing imperial clothing. He looks toward the stoic giant standing beside him. The giant also wears imperial clothing but he was of a lower rank.

The giant reaches over and carelessly holds Maiah to prevent her from falling and injuring herself. But holding a person this weak was a first for him for even his master whose age was similar to Maiah's was stronger and sturdier. Unsure on how to control his strength while holding her, the giant was in turmoil.

The boy shoots a chilly look at the giant and commands him.

"Carry her properly Sebastian."

Sebastian, the giant, lets out a helpless expression and obeys his master's order. The boy walks forward and disappears into darkness. Sebastian follows him with Maiah in tow.

Maiah wakes up in complete darkness with her mind running miles per minute.

"Where am I?" She asked aloud. Maiah tried to move her hands and found out that they were bound. This caused Maiah to be frightened. Her green eyes reddened as tears silently fell.

Even though she was crying she was still evaluating her situation. With no way to discern where she is Maiah could only think of where she was last. She thought back to where she was kidnapped. Right next to a small alley left for the rodents.

Oh lord, what dark scary person wants to snatch the likes of me? I have nothing that is important or that is worth any money. Maiah felt a bit uncomfortable and kept shifting making a ruckus, annoying the people she didn't know were there. Unable to find comfort no matter how she positioned herself Maiah finally allowed her tears to show themselves as they welled in her eyes. She sniffled as quietly as she could but in the dead silence, it was rather loud.

As she cried silently Maiah felt a chill down her spine. She quickly turned around and scanned her surroundings.

"I know that you're there, can you come out? Please?" Maiah weakly said. Hearing no response Maiah creased her delicate brows and more tears escaped her eyes.

Was I wrong? I sensed someone's presence. As Maiah is lost in her thoughts, a small boy around her age steps out from the shadows yet stays hidden. With his eyes sliding over her from head to toe Maiah was extra uncomfortable.

"So weak," he scolded her. He frowned as he looked down on her.

Maiah was in a state of shock at the sight of his face.

Goddamnit, he's prettier than those Korean pop idols. After this one thought she welcomed the darkness and lost consciousness once more.
