Chapter 17

Jeremiah POV

Stepping out of the private jet, I took a deep breath in and said a silent prayer for the week that we were about to go through. Walking to the car, I sat in the co-drivers seat seeing how all the other cars were filled with either people or bags. Pulling my earphones out, I went to Spotify and played No No No by O.T. Genasis ft YG. I barely got any sleep on the flight, seeing how I had to entertain Justine and the million and one things she was saying, as well as the attitude my mom was giving me which in turn was causing my dad to not mess with me lol.

It took about an hour to get to the resort and I was excited to get to my room and take a long-awaited nap. Work has been nothing but stress with all the new ventures as well as trying to find out who’s been taking money out, basically stealing from me.

Walking into the lobby, I started to make my way over to the front desk and get us situated, seeing how I planned the whole trip.

“Hello sir, welcome to Le Blanc Spa Resort Cancun.” I was greeted by a friendly receptionist.

“Hi, umm I have a reservation for four rooms under Jeremiah Brown,” I said feeling relaxed and sipping the mimosa that was provided to us the moment we walked in.

“Ahh yes, Mr, Brown, we have your rooms ready as well as the all-inclusive wrist-bands,” She let me know as she typed up some information on the computer. “A butler will be available for everyone staying under your reservation as well,”

“Ohh perfect,” I said, feeling my phone vibrate in my pants and pulling it out to see Marcel texting me with his annoying self.

“Here you go, these are your room keys with the corresponding names and room numbers. Do you mind asking everyone to come so I can place the wristbands on,” She asked with a smile still present on her face. “Yeah, sure.”

“Ayo! Come get ya wristbands,” I semi-yelled to my family who was across the large room, watching my mom stare at me, sending daggers my way. Turning back around, I responded to Marcel’s text about him supposedly finding the one, something that we went through about once every two months.

Feeling a sharp slap on the back of my freshly shaved head, I flinched super hard and rubbed it, trying to soothe the pain away. “Don’t be yelling out your big mouth at us like were some people on the street,” My mom said with an eye-roll, placing her hand and receiving her band before snatching the room card I was holding out to her and walking away.

“Serves you right,” I heard Kordell say before he and Kali burst out in laughter, causing Jamal and Kerry to follow suit as well. I sucked my teeth and rolled my eyes before grabbing Justine’s hand and pulling her towards the sectional couch where my parents were seating.

A couple of minutes later, everyone was back and we all headed to the elevator to get to our rooms. It was 9 am seeing how everyone wanted to take a morning flight and spend the day out and about but I was about to take a shower and sleep.

“Alright ladies and gentlemen, let’s meet up at 1 pm for lunch. Give everyone time to rest up and just chill a lil bit,” My dad spoke out as the rest of us hopped off the elevator on our floor and begun to disperse. My parents always treated themselves to the presidential suite on holiday but hey, they worked hard for what they have so they deserve to enjoy it.

Walking into our room, I peeled my jumper off and took my shoes off, turning the speakers in the room on and connecting my Bluetooth. Feeling Justine’s hands slide around my waist, I removed them before turning around and looking at her, seeing a smile on her face.

“Yo I’m not in the mood for anything. Try to keep to yourself on this trip, you’re lucky you here in the first place,” I said as I went to one of my Spotify playlists and pressed play.

“Babe, why are you being like this?” She asked with surprise evident in her voice and on her face.

Rolling my eyes, I dragged my hands down my face feeling my irritation rise. “You think I’m over the fact that you trapped me with a baby by getting off your birth control and not letting me know?”

“But you always said you wanted kids,” She responded with her voice going up.

“You know for a fact I said I wanted them after marriage. Bruh don’t annoy me. I’ll put you on a plane and ship you back home.” I threatened with bass in my voice.

Giving up on the conversation and starting to unpack her bags, she let me know she was going to call her homegirls, obviously to brag about where she was.

*A couple of minutes later*

After hopping out of the shower and dressing up and all that, I proceeded to order a whole spread of breakfast for myself seeing how J wasn’t in the room. Opening up Netflix, I browsed through new movies and picked one, deciding to play it once I had my food.

15 minutes later, my food had arrived and I was excited. I had pancakes, hella bacon, hot chocolate, some toast, and scrambled eggs. In addition to that, I had a fruit bowl and then maple syrup and a bunch of small other condiments.

After eating, I turned the AC up and jumped into bed, setting my alarm for midday so that I’d have enough time to get ready for lunch with the family.

*1 hour later*

“Girl yes, he flew me out on his annual family vacation. You know I’m getting that ring loool,” I woke up to Justine’s loud ass voice on the phone once again. Trying to shut my eyes and go back to sleep, I felt my frustration rise as I felt all the sleep vanish out of my body.

“Girl I know, I’m going to be rich especially when we get married. Ain’t no prenup. If we divorce I’ll be hella rich lol,”

Rolling over, I picked up my phone and sent Kordell a text, telling him to meet me at the rooftop bar in 20 minutes.

“Ayo, wassup?” He asked as he walked up behind me and slapped me in the back of my head, something he seemed to love doing.

“What the hell is wrong with you slapping me like ma,” I asked with a slight eye roll.

“You should be worried about the hands she’s going to throw when you get down on that knee though,” he added while bursting out in his annoying laughter, drawing hella attention to us.

“Listen, I’m not proposing anymore,” I said, taking a sip of my coke and gin.

“Ohh thank God. He must have slapped hella sense into you,”

“I heard a conversation between Justine and one of her thot friends on the phone talking about how she finna be rich especially when we get divorced with no prenup,” I told him

“Yoh is the baby even yours?” He asked, genuinely curious.

“Well yeah. I mean, who else-”

“It’s not like you know what she is up to the whole day when you are at work,” He said, picking up a wing and digging into it.

“Damn, you’re not capping,” I said, thinking about the possibility that she could be messing around on me. Honestly, I have seen some signs but I don’t want to believe that she would do that so I’m still with her.

Finishing up at the bar, we walked back downstairs and headed to the dining hall to meet up with everyone else.
