12 Ch 12: Why don’t you just move in?

"In that case, let it all out," Isaac said teasingly. "I won't judge you." Maya laughed, her heart bursting with love, and she looked up into his eyes for a long moment before finally, he kissed her again. Lying curled up on the couch with her eyes closed and pretending to sleep, Isabella smiled.

She could tell life was about to get a whole lot better. Day's turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months, and soon it would be time for Isaac to return to work.

Since Maya and Isaac had started dating, Isaac had invited her and the girls over for dinner almost every night, and the girls were always excited to see their dogs. Isaac had had the right time with them, as they were getting big and beginning to chew things – and they especially loved his shoes; but not once did he ever complain about it, after all, they were his dogs too.

Over a romantic dinner one night, while the girls stayed at their aunt's for the evening, Isaac had asked Maya to move in with him but she had declined. She said that she wasn't sure it was a good idea as it was too soon, and Isaac had understood and hadn't pressed the matter.

But he was getting restless. Soon he would be back at work, and be away a lot and he didn't want to come home to an empty house although Maya had assured him that they would housesit for him when he went away. "Why don't you just move in?"

He had asked again. "Isaac we've been over this," Maya had responded. "I'm not ready for that yet." "I know, I'm sorry I don't mean to keep bringing it up, it's just that I've waited so long and I don't want to wait anymore."

She explained that there was nothing more that she wanted than to spend her life with him, but she knew all too well the dangers of moving too fast. He had never lived with a woman before, and though she and the girls often slept over, living together was a whole different story.

And one particular evening she was glad for making that choice.

It was a particularly warm Wednesday night and she had taken the girls out for ice cream when she saw him with her. She could only imagine that the woman was his ex by the way he looked at her.

He hadn't seen Maya and the girls, and as soon as Maya had seen him she took the girls somewhere else so that they wouldn't see him with someone else.

She was livid. After that, she had ignored his calls and spent most of her time at her sister's house to avoid having to deal with him if he showed up at her flat.

He had left countless voice messages, saying that he didn't understand why she was avoiding him and that if it was because he was pushing her to move in that he was sorry.

He had gone on to say that he would be flying to London in the next two days and that he wouldn't be able to see her again until the middle of May.
