12 Battle of the mind - Part 1 The First

"An illusion that can pull you deep within the memories of your soul, what a joke." Said Mary.

However, this was indeed the case.

"Right now you are currently in your mother's womb." Said the illusion.

"No shit, it's not like I can see anything or move in general. It really doesn't take a genius to figure that out."

"Well, from here on out to your death you will be reliving the lives of all the people you killed in your previous life. Farewell, and remember to have fun!" Said the voice with an imaginary smile.

"You bastard! Let me out!"

—————

"Dear! The baby's coming!" Yelled a young woman with brown hair and hazel eyes.

"Don't worry! We'll be at the hospital soon!" Said a man with black hair and black eyes trying to hide the worry in his voice.

4 hours later the same man could be seen in tears. The doctor's voice ringing in his ears constantly, "I'm sorry sir, but your wife, she died while giving birth. Her final words were, "Norman please take care of our little angel, Lisa."

Firming his resolve he vowed to his now deceased wife that he would protect their child. What a sad thing is life, to lose your world, in exchange for an entirely new one.

Years had passed and Mary, who up to this point had been living Lisa's life, had grown to be happy with her father. He had spoiled her and loved her with all of his heart, working his hardest for her life to be as best as he could make it. And then it came, a 13 year old girl with black hair and hazel eyes had stumbled into the wrong alley way in the middle of the night.

An average looking man greeted her, "Why hello there little one, where are your parents?"

The scene was eerily familiar to the girl, but she answered based on instinct. She had never been exposed to the harsh reality of the world. "I don't know mister, but my dad must be awfully worried. So I think I should get back to where I came from."

As she tried to leave the man blocked her path. "Now now, there's no need to run away, I have games we can play together. We can both have fun, you'll be my doll and I'll be the child ok?" Before the "doll" could give him an answer he had already knocked her out and left with her body,

"God damn it, wake up!" Mary tried to wake her body as best as she could, but it was out of her control, just as her life had been for the past 13 years.

The man had brought her to an empty warehouse, he had evaded suspicion on the streets by looking like a worried father, trying to get her home. It had worked, because despite his average looks, the two shared similar hair colors and eye colors.

"Now it's time to wake up my toy." Said the man with a smile on his face.

Mary at this time was wide awake, she could feel the rope on her body tying her to an immovable steel chair, she had something like a towel stuffed into her mouth.

"Let's begin shall we?" He said picking up a small knife.

In a last ditch effort Mary tried to activate her nen, only to find that it didn't exist.

—————

Some slight gore

"You'll be my first, so please don't hold it against me if I make a mistake." He told her with an apologetic look in his eyes.

He began to cut into her stomach slowly.

Mary could feel the cold knife being inserted into her stomach, cutting and tearing her skin away. Tears had already appeared on her face, but she could not scream. The towel prevented her from doing two important things 1) screaming, and 2) ending her life before his game was over.

After inscribing something like a smile on her stomach. With blood pouring out from her stomach, he turned his attention to her face.

"You have such lovely eyes, would you mind if I took them for myself? After all you won't be needing them soon."

In terror Mary shook her head with a no.

Tears streaming down in the child's face he carved into her skull, and with the cracking of the skull and bone fragments digging into her facial muscles, removed her eyes. He had blinded Mary. Two holes oozing with blood were left behind.

"Dad, I'm so sorry! I won't be able to come home for dinner." Despite the pain, all Mary could do was apologize to her father in her final moments. Norman would never see his precious daughter's smile ever again. The person who he had vowed to protect was gone. She who had lit up his world with her first word "daddy", she who had given his life meaning. He was never even able to give her her present for the next day, a doll had sat on a table with cake, the decorations and seats empty, Devoid of any signs of happiness. At the table sat a lone man crying,"Mary, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry."

His regrets of not being able to give his child a normal life with a mom and dad. And filled with loss he had taken his own life. Holding her photograph close to his heart.

This was the story of Lisa Baxter, at age 13 November 8th it was the day she had lost her life. And she was the first of Mary's original life's many kills.

—————

Mary panting in her mind a voice came to her, "So she was your first huh, only 24 years old and you destroyed a family, well at least it was the most humane death you had given. Now let us continue with your kills. You still have many, many more to live through."

"Why are you doing this to me!" Screamed Mary mentally, she was still a bit shaken up from her previous life of happiness as Lisa.

"You really expect me to tell you that? Find out for yourself." Said the voice, disappearing once again.
