4 Understanding

"Why would you let her do that?!" Lucy yelled at Natsu and he put his hands up to indicate that he surrendered. Drake and Gajeel had already been scolded and didn't dare laugh at Natsu.

"They know their limits now." Natsu said with a smile, "We knew they could handle it till those guys let their actual strength out."

"Natsu you god damn idiot!" Drake yelled and he felt Mira's eyes from behind him. Gajeel seemed to have the same amount of fear as Drake as he saw Levy glaring at him from across the room.

"Wait Mom!" Maya said as they felt her magic power rise, "We insisted that we fight those guys! Dad didn't want me to and they stopped us when they saw that we weren't ready!"

"You two are too similar for my nerves." Mira said as she sighed and calmed down, "He used to do the stupidest things when we were younger."

"Like what?" Maya asked her and Drake knew he was going be made fun of. Mira got a grin that Drake didn't like at all.

"For starters he tried to picked up a walking city and he attacked Sabertooth during the Grand Magic Games one year." Mira told her and Maya looked at him with excitement in her eyes. That wasn't the reaction either of them were expecting and Mira knew her plan to mess with Drake had backfired.

"Mira she is way stronger than either of us were at her age." Drake told her with a calm tone, "We shouldn't baby her and let her learn the way we did."

"I hate to say it but you're right," Mira said and Maya got happy by that, "but she also isn't as experienced as we were back then."

"Mom I can handle it. Trust me." Maya said in a pleading tone and Drake locked eyes with Mira. Mira sighed in defeat and Maya ran over to Nashi and Emma.

"Are you sure about this?" Mira asked him as the three basically radiated excitement, "I know she's our daughter but the dark guilds are a lot stronger than they were in our prime."

"We had Makarov tell us the same things and look at us now. I think she's old enough to make mistakes and learn from them." Drake explained as the girls looked at the request board, "Hey no A-Class missions yet!"

"She's our baby girl Drake. Is it really ok to do that?" Mira asked him as they left to get ready for their mission with Happy, Reckless and Lilly going with them, "I understand what you're saying but I can't help worrying about her. Especially with how gung ho she is."

"We didn't have our parents growing up and had to figure things out ourselves. Maya does and I think we should help her learn." Drake explained as he watched the girls pick out an appropriate request.

"I think Drake's right." Lucy said as she, Natsu, Levy and Gajeel sat next to him at the bar, "For once the boys know what they're talking about."

"We have to remember just how strong they are." Levy explained, "I mean they were born as Dragon Slayers."

"I just wish at least one of them shared our personalities." Levy told Mira and Lucy, "The only thing they took from us are our looks and gender."

"Hey Mira can you get us the stronger stuff please?" Drake asked her, "I think we're gonna need it."

"Yeah, I'll be right back." Mira said as she went to the back and brought them the strongest drink they had, "It's a good thing the guild is closed right now."

"Perks of being the Seventh and Eighth Guild Masters." Natsu said as they cheered their shot glasses.
