5 The Same

"I'm surprised your Dad convinced our parents to let us have more freedom." Nashi told Mira as their Exceed friends carried them to the village that requested their help.

"It's always been like that." Reckless explained, "Everyone followed his lead long before he was the Guild Master."

"Why?" Maya asked because she wanted to learn more about him, "My mom told me stories about him but she never talked about that."

"Drake earned everyone's respect because he was always there when we needed him. The first time Mira met him he protected her even though he was weaker than everyone." Happy told her as the town came into view, "After that Master Makarov personally invited him to the guild."

"Wait her dad was weaker than everybody?" Emma asked with a confused look, "My mom always told me that only Acnologia was able to take him on."

"That was because he left to train for years." Reckless explained as they landed, "That wasn't the only reason though. He eventually Dragonified like Acnologia and that boosted his strength by a lot."

"Dragonfied?" Maya asked him because she had never been told about that before. She saw her Dad's dragon form but never understood it.

"It was originally a risk of being a Dragon Slayer. Gajeel and the others had antibodies built up in their bodies but I'm assuming Drake didn't." Lily explained as the walked towards the Town Hall, "It's not something you want to happen. Drake managed to get control of his dragon half but Acnologia is proof that it's easy not to."

"Will it happen to us?" Nashi asked with a bit of fear in her voice. Reckless shook his head and they relaxed a bit.

"You three were born as Dragon Slayers while the others weren't. It was more or less forced into their bodies." Reckless explained as the entered the building and let the town what they were doing.

"Your Dad said that if you get into trouble to call him immediately." Lily told Maya with a calm tone, "He trusts you but, like your last mission, things can go south quickly."

"I know." She told him and they began to follow the shipment they were sent to guard. Drake, Wendy and Natsu watched them from a distance as they followed the convoy.

"They're gonna be pissed if they find out we're here." Natsu said as he saw how on guard the girls were.

"If things go smoothly they won't. I just wish our wives would have listened to us." Drake told him as they began to follow the girls, "I understand that they're worried but they aren't children anymore."

"Hell we fought Oración Seis at their age and won." Natsu said with a laugh as they kept back far enough for them to not being able to hear or smell them.

"Hopefully they'll be fine." Wendy told them as she watched them intently.

"This is boring." Maya said as she watched the clouds. They were almost to the next town and nothing had happened.

"That's a good thing Maya." Emma told her even though it was obvious that she was bored as well. That was when they saw men blocking the road ahead of them.

"That must be the guys the request was talking about." Nashi said as they got ready to fight if it came to that. Drake and Natsu looked at each other then back to the girls. If was time for the girls to prove themselves and they knew it.

"Hopefully they don't try to start a fight with them." Drake sighed while remembering how bad Natsu and Gajeel were. They saw several explosions by the convoy but still didn't interfere. They almost did when they saw a massive explosion but decided against it unless Drake was called.

"Maya behind you!" Emma yelled and Maya spin-kicked the man behind her. They realized too late that the man was only a distraction and Nashi jumped between Maya and the dark magic coming towards her.

"NASHI!" Maya screamed as the attacked launched her down the path. Maya ran over to her and saw how hurt she was. She fumbled the phone out and called Drake. It didn't take more than a second to answer the phone and he put it on speaker so Natsu could hear.

"Dad Nashi is hurt really bad! We need help no-" Maya didn't get to finish as Natsu and Drake rushed past her and instantly took down several of the bandits.

"Which one?!" Natsu asked and the girls realized that both of them were using Dragon Force. Maya pointed to the man that launched the attack and watched Drake send out magical javelins to take out the men trying to stop Natsu as he closed in on Nashi's attacker. Wendy landed next to Nashi and began to heal her. Luckily her injuries weren't as bad as they looked and healed quickly. Natsu grabbed the man by his face at full speed and slammed him into the ground. Another man tried to attack him from behind but Drake kicked him in the back and used him as a human surfboard. They heard Maya yell from behind them and saw that the convoy had taken them hostage.

"What the hell is this?!" Nashi asked before she felt Drake's power begin to drastically rise. They looked at Drake and saw that he was in the form he used on Tenrou.

"Dragonification." Maya said as she examined Drake. She blinked and two of the men were gone. Maya and Nashi turned around and saw their dads behind them with the men on the ground and not moving. The men holding Emma and Wendy were suddenly cut up and they fell to the ground. With all of the men down Drake and Natsu returned to normal and examined them. They saw a dark guild emblem they hadn't in a long time.

"Tartaros." Drake said before quickly turning to the Exceeds, "Get them out of here now!"

"Aye!" Happy said and the girls were quickly pulled away from the area as they saw a giant cube floating towards the convoy with the town on one of its sides. As they got further away they saw Drake's dragon form and a giant pillar of fire as an army of men ran out the cube when it landed. Maya quickly pulled out her lacrima phone and called Mira.

"Hey Maya everything going ok?" Mira asked with Laxus and Gajeel sitting at the bar and talking with each other.

"Mom, Dad made us leave as some giant cube started coming towards us! Dad and Natsu looked really worried and something about Tartaros!" Maya explained and she saw lightning fly past them. She heard Mira yell something to the rest of the guild but she didn't know what.

"I'm sending help! You get out of there now!" Mira yelled before suddenly hanging up. They saw Mest appear and disappear several times and brought several Fairy Tail members each time.

"What's going on?!" Nashi asked as they flew further away but nobody said anything, "WHAT IS GOING ON?!"

"Tartaros destroyed Fairy Tail years ago and forced everybody to the brink of death." Lily explained and the girls knocked the Exceeds off. Nashi grabbed Emma and the three of the flew to the battle.

"Why is Tartaros here?!" Mira asked Drake as he blew away a large number of the soldiers before returning to his human form and landing next to her.

"A better question is why are they after the girls?" Drake asked as they took out two more soldiers, "They had to have known it was them coming."

"They're probably after revenge for their dead leaders." Gajeel said as he slammed his sword on the ground and took out several more, "Why now though?"

"I guarantee it's because Drake is back. They probably wait and built up their forces." Mest told them as he teleported Sting and Rogue to the as well. They didn't spend time talking as the instantly began to fight. Several soldiers tried attack Mira from behind but got hit by a Bloody Ballet.

"What are you three doing here?!" Drake asked the girls after he processed what he saw, "It's dangerous here!"

"We want to help!" Maya yelled and not backing down. Drake smirked at her tenacity and allowed them to fight. Mira didn't question him that time and watched the two launch towards the cube.

"BLOOD DRAGON'S IRON FIST!" They yelled and their magic combined into a Unison Raid. They hit the cube and watched it begin the break but it wasn't enough. They saw the rest of the Dragon Slayers heading towards them and got big smiles.

"Everyone hit it with the strongest breath attack you can!" Drake yelled and Maya realized what Reckless meant as they all took deep breaths. Everyone else watched in awe as the biggest magical attack they had ever seen swallowed the cube and destroyed it and everything inside completely. Not a trace was left of the cube and the rest of the soldiers were taken care of quickly.

"Are you guys alright?" Drake asked the girls and Maya couldn't look him in the eyes. He looked at sighed before hugging her..

"I'm sorry Dad. I didn't know what to do and I had to try." Maya told him and he looked at Mira. They remembered him saying the same thing all those years ago.

"I can't be mad at you for being me." Drake told her calmly as he held her tighter, "I want you to always remember that if you need help I'll be there."

"I know, thanks Dad." Maya said as he let her go. Mira smiled at the two before Mest brought everyone home.
