1 Xiao Yun

Tap. Tap. Tap— Tap Tap.

Xiao Yun casually tapped on his mechanical keyboard, his gaze nonchalantly staring at the computer screen in front of him with a bored expression.

Click.

The exact moment the mouse click resounded, an energetic voice came from the speakers to announce his achievement— "Headshot! Your team wins!"

Moments later, the in-game chat exploded, taking over a fourth of the screen.

[PerfectAim(Team): LOL! Ain't no damn way he just won that! What a god!]

[GodXYZ(Enemy): Fucking hacker! Your cheats are obvious as hell, you mother fucker!]

[KingDino(Enemy): There is no way you can be so accurate so consistently, you cheater!]

[112233(Enemy): Who the hell still uses cheats in this day and age? Are you that bored?]

[GodXYZ(Enemy): Go fuck yourself, you 10-year-old kid with hacks.]

Xiao Yun's glanced at the chat that was filled with the enemy team's hatred and disdain.

Tap tap tap tap.

[BadGamer(You): You mad bro? ;)]

His casual response to the enemy team's cursing caused their fury to soar.

[GodXYZ(Enemy): So you don't deny that you are hacking? Hahaha! Fucking scrub!]

[112233(Enemy): 32 kills and 0 deaths… Easy report, easy ban.]

[KingDino(Enemy): So you think you are good with cheats? How about you stick those cheats right up your ass?!]

[PerfectAim(Team): Get good, noobs.]

[GodXYZ(Enemy): You only won because of that hacker and you are feeling proud of it? What a loser. Get some skills.]

Not a single change occurred in Xiao Yun's expression despite the endless wave of cheat accusations.

He was clearly used to seeing the enemy team accuse him of cheating.

Tap. Click. Click.

<You have left the room>

Xiao Yun took a moment to stretch out his four limbs before placing his hands on the keyboard and mouse again, but before he could enter another room, his door was knocked on.

"Come in." He said.

The doorknob twisted, and the door swung open.

"Hey, Xiao Yun. Why did you skip school today?" A beautiful young girl around 17 years old walked into his room wearing a set of school uniform.

Xiao Yun rolled his eyes the moment he saw her. "What are you doing here, Qing Qing? Who let you in my house? My mother is not home right now."

Puffing her chest with a pair of magnificent breast, she said proudly, "Who do you think I am? I know the location of every spare key you have hidden around!"

"That's illegal…" Xiao Yun sighed before returning to his computer, ignoring her.

Qing Qing walked deeper into his room, her gaze at his computer screen. "Oh? You are playing a game? It's even an FPS. I thought you hated them because you suck at games."

Xiao Yun shrugged at her words. "I am bored." He said as he entered another lobby in the game.

"Hmmm…"

Qing Qing stood behind him, watching his every movement.

Tap. Tap. Tap. Click.

"You died. Your team loses!"

"Pft. What a noob. Your movements are sloppy and stiff. No wonder why you suck." Qing Qing said in a teasing voice.

"Why are you still here? And you still haven't answered my question. What are you doing here?" He said in an annoyed tone.

"..."Qing Qing turned silent for a moment before speaking. "I heard your girlfriend dumped you for some E-Rank professional gamer, so I came here to laugh at you."

Xiao Yun who was about to click his mouse froze—

"You died. Your team loses!"

He spun his chair around to face Qing Qing who was smirking, ignoring the death of his character.

"That's it? Don't you have more important things to do? Your boyfriend will cry if he finds out that you broke into another guy's house— alone."

Hearing about her boyfriend, the smirk on Qing Qing's face suddenly stiffened.

"Hmph! I actually came here to invite you to play Bloodline with me, but nevermind! You can continue to stare at your stupid screen and play your stupid outdated games that still use keyboards forever while I have fun in a virtual world!"

Qing Qing stormed out of his room with heavy steps.

Xiao Yun could feel his heart beat louder with her every step, worried that she might stomp a hole in his floor.

Bang!

Qing Qing slammed his door shut and continued to stomp out the front door, clearly infuriated.

"Che. You can tease me but I can't do the same? How ridiculous! And so what if we are childhood friends? I will still have you pay for the floor if you damage it!"

Xiao Yun returned his attention to the screen, his movements on the keyboard and mouse suddenly changed, becoming fast, smooth and accurate.

"Headshot!"

"Double Kill! Nice shot!"

"Triple Kill! Amazing!"

"Quadra Kill! Outstanding!"

"Your team wins!"

[DivineAim(Team): LOL!]

[LoliKing(Team): Rip.]

[BlueSeals(Enemy): What the fuck? Wow. Turn it on more, you loser.]

[DeadMan123(Enemy): Of course he starts cheating… What a scrub.]

<Deadman123 has left the game>

[BadGamer(You): Boring.]

Xiao Yun shook his head at the screen before leaving the game.

"I am still very rusty… what should I play next…" he pondered as he stared at the screen that was filled with games, all of them being online games.

FPS, MMORPG, fighting games, racing games, sports games— there was a game for every existing genre out there!
