Chapter 1️⃣8️⃣ - The Real Battle

My eyes widen when I felt another cursed spirit's presence.

'Another one? Since when?'

"You are stronger than the first one. You must be the one who killed over 10 civilians & the sorcerer who was sent to exercise you. Exercising two grade 1s for my assessment would guarantee my grade 1 promotion." I said as my curse energy started to flare up.

'Flowing red scale' 2 red lines envelop my left eye causing it to open.

'The Real Battle begins now'

The curse stretched out its mouth as numerous bubbles appear.

'Bubbles?'

One of the bubbles travels next to me. My gaze widens as the bubble turned brighter & brighter. Backpedaling the blood packet that was in my hand explodes as the bubble explodes.

*BOOM

Steam surrounded the vicinity waving my hand I began coughing.

*Cough *Cough

'If I didn't construct a small blood shield to cover my upper body I would've been incapacitated'

Swerving another burst I took out my bow and discharge 3 arrows at the curse. Manipulating the arrows to avoid the bubbles the three arrows appear in front of the curse.

The curse swings its arm as bubbles emerge in front of him. The bubbles exploded intercepting the arrows but the bubbles did not detonate to a big degree like before.

Coming up behind the curse I place my bow away & clutch a blood packet from my tamed curse. I splatter some of the blood on its rear & condense the other blood I had left in one hand.

Turning around the curse proceeds to swing his arm just to hear a snap.

*GAAHA the curse cried out in discomfort.

"Blood Conveyance."

Half of the curse's back vanished as purple blood began falling in drops from the curse mouth & the immense hole in its back.

'I guess precisely the curse can restrain how powerful the explosion could be. Let me wrap up this before the curse regenerate'

With both of my hands concurrently I released a beam of blood from my fingertips.

'Piercing blood!'

*BOOM

*BOOM

*BOOM

The other bubbles that were scattered around detonated trembling the room resulting in me being unbalanced.

The long-range blood beam impaled the side cheek of the cursed face granting it's face a hole near its right side but it started to recover slowly.

'It's healing slowly. I don't think it heals its back yet'

Nanami emerges next to the cursed spirit & with his innate technique made a devastating impact to the curse slicing its arm off.

"Nanami why are you here?" I questioned.

"I felt a second curse energy right after the last one went away." Nanami said

"Yeah, this is the curse that I was originally supposed to exorcise. The other one was a weaker grade 1." I said holding a blood packet.

'I'll use crimson binding to capture the curse then me & Nanami can overwhelm the cursed spirit'

Throwing the blood packet at the curse it explodes tightly ensuring the curse.

Nanami & I gang up on the curse blow after blow not giving it a chance to heal or activate its technique.

At the end of our barrage I leap over the cursed spirit exploding my blood packet I manipulated my blood to surround the curse head.

'Blood Conveyance'

I snap my finger as the curse spirit head disappeared while falling the curse body evaporated as well.

Landing I deactivated flowing red scale.

Nanami walk towards me & patted my shoulder.

"Well done you exorcise two grade 1 curses. When I came here you have done already significant damage two the curse you didn't need me." Nanami said

"I agree I would've done the same thing without you the curse didn't even heal from my attack before." I said

"Well, that concludes your ranking mission Noritoshi. I'll start my report of your mission to the higher-ups when we get to the hotel."

"Thank you for examining my recommendation Nanami-San." I said bowing.

"You're welcome Noritoshi."

Strolling out of the building I lowered the curtain & seen how dark it was. The stars were set as the sun was down.

"The car will be here any minute." Nanami

said.
