7 Second Mother

Without waiting for an answer, Rheyan turned to look back at Aryen. He gave her a beautiful smile before he started to walk to leave without turning back.

Watching him disappear from her sight, Aryen unconsciously took a deep breath. She remembered that despite the fact that he is such a playboy, he treated her with respect.

Rheyan is the second son of Lin group CEO, Lin Rehan. But he uses his father's family name Lee. He owned one of the companies under the Lee Corporation that owned a large group of companies.

Aryen's thoughts were interrupted when the middle aged woman suddenly spoke in a professional voice. "You must be Ms Ho. You may come in."

Recovering from her deep thoughts, Aryen subconsciously turned around to look at the source of the voice. She nodded before she stepped into the office and closed the door.

Aryen walked graciously and stood in front of the desk where a middle aged woman sat on her chair, silently watching Aryen's movements.

Despite her middle aged face, she still looked beautiful. She had dark black hair, and her face resembled Lee Rheyan but looked fiercer than her playful son.

Her name is Lin Rehan, CEO of Lin group. She was also Aryen's former boss, who treated Aryen like her own daughter, when she was still a part timer four years ago.

Lin Rehan leaned back on her chair. Her eyes scanned Aryen's appearance from head to toe before looking back at Aryen's alluring face.

However, Lin Rehan's sharp eyes noticed the tears that started to form on Aryen's eyes. She thought that Aryen was just trying to gain her sympathy due to Lee Rheyan's playfulness.

She is used to meeting those kind of women who tried to get close to her to be with her son. Lin Rehan hated those kind of women.

Nevertheless, when Lin Rehan looked straight at Aryen's translucent green jade eyes, she realized that what she was seeing is Aryen's real emotion. That her tears were true and without any trace of pretension.

She then speculated that it might have been because of Lee Rheyan's teasing. Lin Rehan suddenly sighed and spoke with a soft voice. "I'm sorry about my son. He was just being playful."

Hearing the warm tone of voice from her previous boss, Aryen tried hard to calm her pumping heart. Unbeknownst to her former boss, the tears that formed on her eyes were not because of what Lee Rheyan did to her.

Instead, it was because of the feeling of seeing her second mother after she went missing for four years. Aryen will never forget how Lin Rehan treated her as if she was her own child.

Thus, with her real family that lived in another country, Aryen wanted to throw herself to Lin Rehan to feel her embrace and cry her heart out from all the suffering she had.

Unfortunately, Aryen cannot do what she wants. Knowing they thought that she's already dead, she was no longer the same person and has a new identity.

Therefore, Aryen can only hide her aching heart as she watched the woman she treated as her second mother in front of her. She can no longer act nor behave like how she used to.

Not getting any response from Aryen, Lin Rehan stood up and walked towards Aryen with worry on her face. "Don't mind my son. He is always like that when he feels like he it. You'll get used to it."

She raised her hand to wipe Aryen's tears that suddenly fell on her rosy cheeks. "He must have remembered one of my employees when he saw you."

Lin Rehan didn't know why she suddenly felt comfortable right after she saw Aryen. Just like Lee Rheyan, she remembered Lyra all of a sudden when she saw Aryen's teary face.

She recalled how Lyra kept running back to her with teary eyes after Lee Rheyan teased Lyra. But she would only laugh, thinking that her son is making fun of his younger sister.

Therefore, as she carefully watched Aryen's movements. She can't be mistaken, Aryen's actions were the same as how she had trained Lyra to behave: like a noble woman.

Nevertheless, Lin Rehan disregarded her curiosity, while she remembered Lyra's innocent pretty face. Still, she can't bear to see the tears on Aryen's eyes.

Feeling Lin Rehan's warm finger on her cheek, Aryen came back to her senses. She smiled and she shook her head. "No worries Mrs. Lin. I was just shocked."
