14 14. Finally, seeing each other again

For the next four weeks, Chao Shen refused to meet up with Lihua. The young girl is annoyed by Hui always following her around. Every time she tried to go out of the manor, Hui would appear in front of her and prevent her from going out. Lihua tried every trick she can think of to lure Hui away but it all failed. She took a mental note to give more time in observing Hui. She never thought that the young bodyguard's skills would be this good.

"What's with this hide and seek game?" Lihua is clearly annoyed with what's happening.

"I don't understand what you mean, Lihua," Hui said innocently.

Lihua stared at him intently but Hui refused to nudge even a bit. Frustrated, she turned around and walk away.

Hui, looking at the retreating figure of Lihua can only sigh. He hopes that after the capture of the blood princess, these two will finally make up.

Lihua, who is now sure the Hui is guarding Chao Shen in his study, took the chance to go out. She has to know what's happening. She easily found her way out of the Prime Minister's manor without anyone's notice. She is briskly walking in the crowded afternoon capital city when she heard someone chuckled beside her.

"Oy! finally you are out"

Lihua looked at him and she smiled.

"Yeah, it looks like you've been waiting for me all this time," she said teasingly to Mengyao.

"Hahaha, how can you guess that right?" Mengyao did not exert effort to lie to Lihua. It is true that since the day he entered the capital city, he's been waiting for her to go out. He did not realize that the security in the Prime Minister's mansion is tight, he was not able to enter it to see her.

Lihua looked surprised with Mengyao's words. She cannot decipher if he is telling the truth or if he is just making fun of her.

"So, why are you waiting for me?" she asked instead.

"Remember I have a bet to pay you," he said giving her a broad smile.

Lihua was amazed by how carefree Mengyao is right now. She is curious about what mission he has in the capital city right now. She decided to go along with it, besides, she's been frustrated with Chao Shen's treatment to her these past few weeks.

"Okay, then. You promised to treat me in one of the best restaurants in the city."

The two walked happily in the busy city streets. Mengyao observed Lihua who is walking happily in front of her. It is clearly evident that she did not have any chance of roaming freely in the capital city all this time. Seeing her wide eye beamed with excitement and amazement by everything she's seeing in the streets he is happy to stay patient and waited for her. They both enter a bustling restaurant. They were created by the restaurant's staff.

"Greetings to the young master. May I know if you want to seat in the main dining hall or wanted to have your private room?" he greeted Mengyao excitedly. Seeing the young ladies clothing, he immediately assumed that she is a maidservant of this handsome young master.

"Give us a private room," Mengyao answered the servant with a domineering aura. Even Lihua felt it. She looked at him with curiosity. She thought, maybe having a meal with him can give her some ideas on why he is in the capital.

The servant led them inside and then to the second floor of the restaurant where the private rooms were. When Lihua tried to enter the private room, she was held up by the servant.

"Don't worry, our servants can serve the young master well. You can stay in the servants' room on the first floor," he said rather arrogantly.

Mengyao turned around and punched the servant on the face. "Outrageous! How dare you treat her as a servant?" the servant was thrown a few feet away from his original place. The servant who is confused immediately stood up and kneel in front of them.

"This servant did not know anything. Please forgive my rudeness." the servant said nervously.

Mengyao clenched his fist with anger. Lihua, who stood beside him reached out her hand and touch Mengyao's clenched fist.

"It's okay. It's my fault I came out looking like this," saying this, she looked at her dress. Everyone will immediately assume that she is a maidservant.

Mengyao softened his face when he looked at her.

"Alright, if you say so," he led her inside the private room.

The servant who say how the young man treated the maidservant, he shook his head. He clearly couldn't understand what's going on. But then, he decided to let it go. He better serve them well if he wanted to keep his life. He sensed that the young man is no ordinary young man. Though this is the first time he saw him, the young man's demeanor and aura tell that he belongs to a noble family.

Inside, Mengyao and Lihua sat facing each other. Lihua noticed that the grim on his face is still there so she laughs teasingly, "what are you still upset about? I did not expect to see you today so I did not manage to change my clothes."

Mengyao looked at her seriously. He couldn't believe her. How did she manage to stay at the Prime Minister's manor as a servant?

"You were never treated as a servant at the holy mountain. How come you allow others to treat you this way?"

Lihua's smile faded. She looked at him solemnly. So this is why he is irritated?

"Mengyao, I did not expect that you are so caring about me. As far as I remember, you are the first person you want me to suffer in the holy mountain."

"Hahaha, Lihua, people change and mature. Besides, you know that those pranks are my way of showing how much I care about you."
