chapter 1

"Ugh, damn alarm" I wined as I hit the snooze button without moving from my bed, "ah finally" I smirked, sinking deeper into my bed.

As I start to drift back to sleep, a sudden and very loud banging started making me squirm to get up.

After about 20 seconds of banging it stopped, my heart pounding in my chest, the door opened, revealing a 162.cm tall girl with dirty blond hair tied into a messy pony tail, she was wearing her normal school clothes that screemed teenage girl.

My big sister Meghan.

"Get the hell up ya damn brat!" she yelled with a grin, " we're gonna be late."

I just stared at her with a blank look, "late for what?" I tilted my head as I asked, still half asleep I couldn't figure out what she was talking about.

She looked at me with an annoyed look, "for school dumb ass, we gotta hurry!" she stated with a matter-of-factly tone, before I could answer her she ran to the foot of my bed, grabbed the blanket and started to pull.

I was quick enough to grab the blanket and pull back, we were now in a half-assed tugawar, with me losing, "stop it ya damn hell spawn, I'm up!" I said through gritted teath.

Despite being taller then her by 10'cm she was stronger, for what she lacked in hight she made up for in strength. since we were little she was very active, one time we were watching TV and an ad for MMA came on and she was ecstatic.

She begged our parents to let her do it,

of course my dad was completely neutral in the subject, stating that if she wants to do that then it's her choice.

My mother being her self, stated that it's to dangerous and she could get hurt, my sister and mom continued to bicker back and forth for about a week until my mother finally caved in and said yes.

mom asked me if I wanted to join too and learn to defend my self, knowing damn well I get bullied, I took a glimpse at my sister, she had a happy expression on her face but she seemed to not like the notion of me join.

I could understand where she was coming from, since I could remember whenever I was getting bullied in school or getting my ass kicked by the neighborhood kid, she would always come to my rescue. I may have gotten my ass kicked nearly every day but I didn't just roll over and take.

I fought back even though the result was the same every time, me coming out bloody and saved by my sister. I thought she was making the problem worse because a 'girl' was saving me from my problems. I wanted to be strong enough to defend my self, strong enough to protect my sister for a change.

The only way I thought I would be able to do that at the time is to try to avoid confruntion with bully's, yeah I know sounds pathetic but at the time I had zero confidence in myself.

I ended up saying no, she seemed relieved so I was okay with it.

I was knocked out of my reminiscing when I heard her start to speak, "Good, now get downstairs mom's waiting."

after she left my room I got up and did my normal morning routine, shower, brush teeth, and get dressed.

I was wearing a pair of blue jeans, a read and black long-sleeved shirt, pair boots, and a gray zip up hoodie.

I looked at my reflection in the mirror one last time, running my fingers through my messy dark colored hair, then I looked into my reflections azure colored eye's, everything seemed fine, grabbed my wallet, phone, and headphones, and headed downstairs.

I entered the kitchen where everyone was sitting, Meghan nearly inhaling her food, my dad James, who was watching the TV while eating bacon, he usually keeps his brown hair combed back but today his hair was down nearly covering his dark green eyes.

despite his age he is a really good looking guy.

lastly was my mother Maria, just like my dad despite being 42 years old, she looked like she was 23, shoulder length dirty blond hair and green eye's, and a fit body. she's the type of person to always have a smile on her face.

Her eye's lit up when she saw me, "ah Jake your up!" she exclaimed joyfully, "and your dressed for school?" she questioned with a tilt of her head.

suddenly, she smacked her forehead, "I forgot your no longer sick, it's been about two weeks."

"well it's not like I could sleep with someone barging into my room and yelling at me" I said with a smirk looking at my sister as I sat down.

My sister crossed her arms and puffed out her chest, "well, then you should've been up and stop being lazy." she stated with a matter-of-factly tone.

"Enough bickering and eat, your going to be late for class." My father said without looking away from the TV.

"Fine." My sister and I said in unison.

We finished our breakfast and headed out, since we lived about five blocks from our college we usually walked but since my sister got a car back on her sixteenth birthday per her request, she's been driving ever since.

as for my sixteenth birthday, I just asked for cash, I didn't mind walking to and from classes and home.

my sister stopped in her tracks spun around to look at me, "do you want a ride, we'll get there a hell of allot faster?"

she questioned pointing her thumb toward her car.

I smirked, "heh, nah, I'm perfectly capable of walking a couple of blocks without getting hurt." I said puffing out my chest

She just looked at me like I was an idiot, "fine, do whatever you want." she said while getting in her car, "but let me know If one of those idiots give you any trouble, I'll personally beat the crap outta them!" she exclaimed with a toothy grin.

"Yah, ok." I smiled back, "I'll meet you there!" I waved back at her as I started walking, she waved back and sped off like a bat outta hell.

"driving like a mad man so early in the morning, she's gonna get in trouble." I huffed mostly to myself, thinking of her getting a ticket or getting her ear chewed out by the dean, or even worse our mom.

mom is the type to rarely get mad, but when she does she was terrifying, she was the living representation of don't poke the bear.

I was nearly two blocks away from the campus, i stopped at the corner store, to get a couple drinks for the day.

I went to the back of the building where the refrigerators are, as I was looking for the right drink I accidentally bumped into someone.

I had my headphones on so I didn't hear her, and I was to busy focusing on finding the right drink I didn't even see her.

it was like she just appeared out of nowhere.

"Ah, sorry" I apologized picking up the item she dropped, "didn't see you there."

She looked at me with wide eyes, "oh, it's fine I didn't see you either." she said.

the word that came out of her mouth where one thing but the way she was studying me like I was some rare animal

was honestly kinda weird.

she was wearing a oversized black hoodie with crimson hair pooling out around her neck, and similar colored pants, and white colored sneakers.

looking now I could understand why she was wearing what she was, she's very voluptuous, hourglass figure, but most striking of her appearance was her eye's,

the irises where red just like her hair, and her pupils where like a cats.

for lack of better word, she was beautiful.

I shook my head, handed her the item she dropped apologized once more, paid for my stuff and left, continuing down the blocks I couldn't get the image of her out my head.

I took a deep breath and forced myself to forget about that right now, since I was now at the gate of the campus.
