1 1 The Day He Died

Alexus Pendragon or also known as Alex is currently working on a video game company. He is the person who is taking care of art editorial.

Well, the salary is good for his needs and pay his bills. He didn't have much wealth, but he is satisfied on what he have. For 36 years of his life, he never had any relationship.

Alex is still single, and he is a person called 'No Girlfriend Since Birth' or in short, 'NGSB'. But, he doesn't care about that as long as he is alive, he is satisfied for it. And his Dad always say 'You will meet the right person at right time'.

Suddenly, those painful memories appeared on his mind. His heart clenched and his tears threatened to fall. He wiped it with his right hand and continue on his work.

One of his co-workers, Zeke, his best friend noticed the change of his expression. Zeke tapped his left shoulder making him startled.

"Holy Motherf*ck!" Alex cursed loudly making all of the people in the room startled. All of them looked at him frowning and irritated. He raised his right hand hand and show a peace sign.

"Sorry." Alex said in embarrassment.

All of the team except him and his friend get back to work. He glared at Zeke coldly. His friend raised his both hands in defeat.

"Whoa man! Chill. I didn't know you will be startled. It's not my fault." His friend said in nervous tone.

"Yeah, yeah! Whatever man. It's not your fault." Alex rolled his eyes in annoyance while saying sarcastically.

It's natural to get irritated when you startled. His friend sighed and continued to his. Alex knew that his friend was worried. Tomorrow is his parents death anniversary.

'It's been 17 years when my parents went missing. Maybe I moved on but I still feel sadness.'

To lose the feeling right now, he continued his work. Zeke knows what he suffered when he was a 8 year old kid.

"Hey man, maybe you should have time for a rest. Your stressed out and here you are, drowning yourself in work. How we have a drink? The group called me for rerunion at next week." Zeke stated to.

"Wait.... You mean the whole group? Tsk! Those assholes, it's been a long time since we had time." Alex is back on his normal expression.

Zeke nodded.

"Yep! So, wanna join man?" His friend asked him.

"I don't know man, I'll just check my schedule and see if I had time." Alex.

"Okay, I'll wait for your decision. By the way, I want you to introduce to-

Alex raised his hand in front of his face to interrupt him on his speech. He smiled and crossed his arms in his chest, then tilted his head and show a questioning look.

"Zeke, I told you about this many times. I don't need a date right now."

"Oh come on! Your 36 now and single and virgin-

Alex quickly put his gloved hand on his mouth to stop leaking his greatest secret of himself.

"Zeke! You shouldn't say that in here! There are other people in this place and I don't want to others will know my secret!"

Zeke pull away his gloved hand in disgust.

"Jesus Christ! That's is disgusting!" His friend wiped his mouth. "That gloves is contains millions of germs! And you just cover my mouth with it!"

"Well, it's your fault that you almost spill my secret to everyone in here."

"Okay okay! Sorry man. I will shut my mouth." Zeke make a sign of zipping his mouth.

Alex rolled his eyes again and go back to their work.

It's 10 pm. and most of his co-workers got home. His friend, Zeke is preparing to go home. While him, is still working.

"Hey Alex, it's midnight now. Are you going home?"

"Nah man, you go first. Your family is waiting for you." He continued on his work. Alex wanted to finish it quickly so he don't have worry.

"Okay, see you in next day." Zeke saluted and head out.

He worked until the time reached on 12 pm. with no break. After he fixed everything on his table, he out and walked into the apartment.

Alex reached his unit and inserted the key. But he noticed that something is wrong. The doorknob is unlocked.

'Sh*t! Someone is in my unit! Oh no, not that crucifix pendant that my parents gave to me!'

Without any defensive weapon, he barged in his unit and run into the bedroom. There, he found a masked person holding the gadgets and the most important thing that he has, the pendant.

But before he speak, Alex felt an immense pain in his right chest. Black dots appeared on his vision and it's slowly swallowing him.

He fell on the floor and there, and there he took his last breath.
