11 Chapter 10 – Rea's huge surprise

"OK class before carrying on I have two important announcements to make. So as you may have heard......From at least our more reliable class representative, (though I shan't differentiate between the two). This year we've decided on a three day round trip to Barcelona as a joint Summer Festivities venture for both the ladies and the gents. All the details regarding the trip including costings and the letter of consent for your parents, will be provided to you very soon. Please direct any remaining questions to our class representatives.......To Miss Hardy or to myself if required."

Disregarding Lucy's genuinely embarrassed glance shot in my general direction, I'd like to call Miss Valdez's unapologetically harsh treatment towards me a product of spurious defamation.......However realistically Lucy was in all probability more tactful, better informed and therefore a better source of information on this particular occasion.....Though I'd like to remind everyone who originally thought up the idea for this trip!!! Just not much else I guess.

"For my second announcement; Though generally unheard of this late in the year, we have quite an impressive student joining our class for the remainder of the year (and hopefully beyond). Would the young lady patiently waiting outside the door, please come inside and take the empty seat besides Mr Creed."

Staring blankly towards Miss Valdez (typically engrossed in my own thoughts), I failed to notice the young female silently stride into the room and elegantly sit besides me. Judging by the excited chatter between the males situated around the room, I imagine it's safe to assume the new girl is pretty hot, (though anything could excite overly hormonal male teenagers). Funnily enough Miss Valdez has never once referred to me as "impressive"....Or even utilised any positive adjectives towards me. Slowly turning my head towards the new student, the thought "Just how amazing can the new girl be?" Evaporated from my mind as quickly as it appeared as my heart began pounding furiously in my ears.

"Miss Sparks please introduce yourself to the class."

"Hey guys my names Reagan Sparks but everyone refers to me as Rea. Apologies for impeding on your wonderful class so late in the semester however Mr Viney (the head-teacher) thought that......Being with an old friend could help me to settle in better."

As Rea spoke her final few words she momentarily glanced in my direction, flashing a truly lustrous smile and knowing wink. Have you ever experienced those unexplainable instances whereby your entire being becomes captivated?? Where for a few fleeting moments your unable to discern logic, reality, speech or even time?? Staring towards this breathtakingly gorgeous crimson-haired beauty oozing confidence and sex appeal a few short centimetres away, I had become unreservedly entranced.

"Mr Creed..........Mr CREED.......If you've finished gawking towards our newest student, perhaps you could provide us with some of your typically astounding insight towards our topic of conversation???"

Oh crap........The downfalls of unmitigated captivation....I literally haven't heard a word Miss Valdez said and were I to construe some convoluted lie, detention may yet become a permanent feature of my daily schedule. Guess I had better get this over with, I thought whilst unwillingly standing up:

"Miss Valdez I'm inclined to go with the Laissez-Faire attitude on this matter, after all I'm hesitant to show bias towards any party without considering careful due diligence." Hahhh absolutely killed it I thought as I grinned smugly towards Joe. However Joe didn't share my unbridled enthusiasm, instead grimly shaking his head and staring apprehensively towards his desk. The sudden feeling of impending dread enshrouded my thoughts as I nervously gulped.

"That's a very intriguing answer Mr Creed, I must say I'm impressed with how eloquently you were able to articulate your entirely valid point. After all who doesn't go with a Laissez-Faire attitude........When discussing Standard Deviation!!!!!" The classroom suddenly burst out laughing, even Lucy giggled whilst graciously covering her mouth.

"Mr Creed I do hope you don't intend to tarnish the reputation of our extremely talented class in the mind of Miss Sparks any further on her very first day."

"Sorry Miss Valdez." Drearily slumping back into my chair as the class quietened down towards normality. My gaze suddenly narrowed towards a crumpled piece of paper on my desk; Stealthily unfurling the paper under my desk, I read a hastily scrawled note:

[Sorry Shimon didn't mean to get you into trouble, I'll buy you a coffee on our date later K?]

Reading and re-reading the note perilously swaying in my trembling hands, eventually the words became a meaningless blur. Crumpling the paper silently between my fingers, I cast a few nervous glances towards Rea who's luscious lips momentarily pursed into a seductive smile before immediately returning to her normal studious look towards her desk.

Slowly placing my hand over my chest, the intense pounding of my heart began ringing insatiably in my ears. First I had an incredible date with Eve, than Lucy comes over for tea and now I have a coffee date with Rea on her first day??? In my current predicament most normal teenage boys would be jumping for joy...So why do I feel ready to collapse??

================================================================

Christ what a day.....I'll have to include Standard Deviation on the list of things required for "self-education." Oh well things could be worse, this fateful turn of events may actually provide the motivation required to break through my self-conscious barrier in order to politely request Lucy's help to study......Yeah in my dreams.......Though I faintly remember Lucy occasionally refusing my approaches even in my dreams; Well readers the good news is that your already pathetic perceptions of me couldn't possibly get any worse.

Rea didn't wait around after class, instead hurriedly packing away her things and running off towards girls gym class. Invite me to a coffee date then proceed to act like I'm the invisible man, that pretty much sums up the female psyche to a tee. Wearily sighing I decided to spend my free period lounging around the library, however I felt a sudden harsh tug on my blazer.

"Hey Shimon, Laissez-Faire attitude huh? I never knew your vocabulary was so diversely impressive." Slowly turning around I found Lucy stood close besides me smiling radiantly. The bright and refreshing aura surrounding Lucy reminded me of a mythically beautiful forest; Wondrously relaxing and sensationally luscious, however always feeling typically unattainable for mere mortals such as myself.

"Lucy Haha yeah that was me trying to be slightly ostentatious...Once again another plan foiled in my long standing mission to finally evade detention." Lucy's face suddenly turned a bright shade of red as she uncharacteristically burst out laughing, her infectious happiness felt truly soothing as even I had a small cackle towards my own misfortune.

Eventually calming down, Lucy took a small step towards me as my heart began to race within my chest. Her intoxicating scent caressed my senses as Lucy let go of my blazer and softly placed her hand across my arm, a questioning look on her face as she seductively tilted her head towards me.

"Hey Shimon....Can I ask you something??" I nervously gulped, my gaze narrowed towards her lusciously glossed lips as her words suddenly felt as if they were spoken in slow motion.

"Su...Sure....What's up??"

"Are you and the new girl close acquaintances or something?" Lucy's unexpected question caught me off guard, as I anxiously blinked a few times and stared towards the floor in a failed attempt to compose myself.

"She was a good friend of mine and Eve's from primary school, but then she moved away and we sort of lost contact."

"Hmm gotcha. Sorry Shimon I know it feels like I'm always running away however I'm already pretty late for gym class and you know Miss McKenna's stance on tardiness!!! But we definitely need to schedule a meetup to finalise the details for the trip! Later Shimon."

With that Lucy turned on her heels and scurried off towards the girls changing room, for a split second the mental image came to mind of me accidentally peering into the girls changing room....However for some reason not surviving the day just doesn't seem worth momentary bliss so probably safer to just forget that idea ever existed.

My phone vibrating in my pocket interrupted my lewdly unrealistic thoughts. Taking my phone out my pocket the message appeared to be from Eve:

"Onii I'm in my room.....Come now please."

Returning images from the furore of recent events flooded my mind. I didn't hesitate or contemplate about the repercussions....I just turned and ran.
