Chapter One

I had always known that working with the police, being a female would always attract a lot of enemies and allies but it didn't matter to me.

At the age of 17 ,I had been recruited in the police first starting as a cadet. It was obligatory of every new recruit to spend seven months training in gruesome exercises before one  could even be called a cadet. The police wasn't an organization of socialization despite that I was able to make quite a few friends,especially one friend her name was Victoria. .

I had met Victoria at the police cadet grounds and at first I didn't like her because she was always complaining of the sort of training we're being asked to undertake.

One summer during training, our instructor rebuked me for not performing the drills well. The unexpected happened Victoria actually defended me.

'Sir I don't think she has done anything wrong because everyone and I believe her to be the best among us and you telling her that I do believe you have made a. mistake ' she said.

That action made her undergo a brutal punishment along with me for conspiracy according to the instructor ,We had to clean the laundry of all the  recruits including the officers for a week.

It had actually being a year since our last encounter, now I was being promoted to the rank of detective.

But it seems to be like it was yesterday that I had met Victoria.

With this job I was given an apartment and a jeep to serve as my transportation, despite being the youngest officer in the police, at the age of twenty -four I am in charge of investigating major cases obviously due to the fact that I was able to apprehend the notorious kidnapper in the entire state, Jeffrey Burns.

At first I didn't care about Jeffrey Burns or any kidnapper but when he kidnapped  my cousin and demanded a ransom of a huge value. Which eventually led to my dad passing away after being able to produce that money for my cousin to be brought back.

I remembered how I saw my dad working past his work hours  desperately trying to earn the money and when he had gotten the money, he died the following day from stress.

His death angered me enough to get recruited at the police And i had sworn to his grave to apprehend Jeffrey Burns. So for the last seven months I had work earnestly in trying to arrest the culprit and end his reign of terror in the nation.

Drawing conclusions in my investigation I was able to determine how Jeffrey Burns carried out his operations. He focused his attention on young students of a well renowed college and also medical students. I didn't know how the best detectives couldn't even figure out that for the past five years.

Disguising myself, I was able to pose as a medical student and he kidnapped me as per my plan, while the police tracked the GPS tracker on me to his base which was also my plan.

Apprehending him gave me a promotion to the rank of Detective Superintendent and I was able to Fulfil my promise to my late dad.

I even earned a medal from the president of the Republic and a citation congratulating me on a job well done which was also from the president.

Concerning all these there wasn't a doubt that any mission would be difficult for me which was primarily the reason i was given this mission.

The intel i had corncerning this mission was that an unknown virus or monster had massacred a whole town in a single night and rumors were that the so called king of vampires ,Dracula has risen from the death and is responsible for this act.

I  couldn't believe this crap that Dracula who's supposed to be around some centuries old and a vampire ( a mythical creature considered to be a human who turns into a monster ,feeds on the blood of humans and can get incinerated by thesun) is considered to have somehow resurrected from his sleep.

All this was getting on my nerves , admitting a being known as God existed was hard to acknowledge but hearing about vampires existing was just those lame excuses people brought about just to instil fear in people.Which was another reason i was selected to carry this mission.

The mission was simple ,i was to infiltrate the town closer to the massacred town and disguise myself as a townsman in order to investigate the murders privately without arousing suspicion from the russian army.

The town massacred was a russian territory and as expected from them,they despise foreigners so i had to perform this dangerous but awesome solo missiom.

I was to begin the mission in a week after today .
