1 Chapter 1: Darkness

Darkness.

That was all Jack could see. A great darkness that wrapped him.

"Where the hell am I? Wasn't I sleeping on my bed?"

Jack tried to stand up, only to notice he was already on his feet.

"This is weird, I feel like I'm floating but at the same time walking... I suppose it doesn't matter which way I go since there is no light anywhere"

Jack started walking straight rather calmly.

And he walked, and walked, and kept on walking for a long time.

Jack didn't know for how long he walked or if he was getting near a possible exit. But the weirdest thing was that he was not tired at all. He felt like he could keep walking for eternity and still be fine.

"Man this is starting to creep me out. There is no sight of a possible exit, I don't know how much time has passed but it felt like weeks, or maybe months, I don't know anymore. Maybe I'm getting farther from the exit. Should I turn around or switch directions? My father always told me to walk straight and never look back..."

Jack was starting to talk to himself and talking to yourself is never a good sign.

"Agh, fuck this! I don't believe that if I continue walking straight I won't at least find something!"

And so Jack, continued his journey on the darkness.

A lot of time passed. Maybe years or maybe decades. Nobody could know for sure in this darkness. But admist this darkness there was a man walking straight without looking back in utter silence.

It was Jack, but he looked a bit different. A beard had grown on his handsome and shaved face, his hair had grown a bit too much, and he had his eyes red maybe due to his lack of sleep.

Despite all those changes, inexplicably he still looked young and was perfectly healthy even even though he didn't remember the last time he ate, drunk or slept. He only had one thought in his mind while he walked.

"Walk straight without stopping and don't look bad."

Well, he had another thought that helped him to keep going.

"I swear that if this place is a prank of a god or demon that brought me here just to amuse himself seeing me walk like a headless chicken then I'm absolutely killing him the moment I see him. And if that god or demon is just waiting for me to give up, then he can fuck himself in the ass cause I won't give up. An Immortal never gives up... Right mum?"

A smile appeared on Jack's face for a moment when thinking about his mother. He did never meet her, and he didn't know why, but he felt a great connection with her.

He shook his thoughts out of his mind and continued to focus on the road ahead. If only there was a road.

He walked a bit more when finally Jack saw a little light on the horizon. Jack suddenly felt like a man that had been alone in the desert for a long time that found a small pool of water. And he run to the light.

Jack didn't notice because in his mind his only thought at the moment was reaching that light, but he was running faster than ever. If Usain Bolt in his best years saw Jack running right now he would feel ashamed and go cry on a corner.

Jack was running for a long time while the light was getting nearer.

When Jack finally arrived where the light was, he couldn't believe what he saw as a strong feeling of fear was invading all his body.

"What the fuck is this place?"
