12 Girlfriend (II)

Bai Wei went to buy ingredients happily.

She could have very well left everything to the servants. The Mu family had a big kitchen, so she could have asked the servants to prepare the dishes according to her recipes without the need to move a finger.

However, Bai Wei clearly wanted to do everything herself because she probably thought that it was more sincere.

Mu Zi was left alone in the small bungalow after Bai Wei had left.

She looked around to familiarize herself with the bungalow. Before long, Mu Rongcheng was back.

He brought with him a young girl and approached the building while walking on a gray stone path.

The girl had an elegant look and wore a cherry-pink plaid shirt, as well as a long lake blue skirt. Her long hair was tied into a fishbone braid, and she adopted an artistic style.

Although Mu Zi was not fond of Mu Rongcheng, she had to play host because Bai Wei was not around.

She said politely, "Mom went to buy some ingredients, come in."

"This is Xu Shihan," Instead of entering the bungalow, Mu Rongcheng introduced plainly, "my girlfriend."

Mu Zi replied with the intention to mock but also to hint, "Are we very alike? I think that we're very different in terms of our characters."

She was so gentle and friendly, unlike Mu Rongcheng, who was arrogant and impolite. How could he be compared with her?

Mu Rongcheng could not stand the sight of his sister and girlfriend getting close to each other, so he turned to leave after saying coldly, "Let's take a stroll in the garden."

Xu Shihan quickly followed him, but she had to walk faster to catch up with him because his strides were big due to his long legs.

Mu Zi scorned as she watched them leave one ahead of the other. "A stroll in the garden? It looks more like you're walking your dog?"

She could not bear to see Mu Rongcheng's careless attitude towards his girlfriend.

In fact, she felt that Mu Rongcheng's eyes were emotionless as though he was a cold-blooded animal. He was selfish, indifferent, and was not caring towards his partner at all. Soon enough, Xu Shihan would become one of his many ex-girlfriends.

She figured that he had gone crazy to have brought a lady home today.

Once Bai Wei had returned from buying ingredients, Mu Zi told her that Mu Rongcheng and his girlfriend had already arrived.

Bai Wei was extremely excited and slightly nervous. She pulled Mu Zi to ask if she should change her outfit and if she was dressed up well. It made Mu Zi feel like there was a switch in roles between the mother-in-law and the daughter-in-law…

"Mom, go prepare the dishes first, and change your clothes after you're done," Mu Zi suggested.

"That's true, I'll be covered in cooking smells… I'll change after I'm done cooking," Bai Wei mumbled, then focused on working in the kitchen.
