Chapter 18
"It's not just that... You have also noticed that my appearance changed greatly, right?" Asked Saeki in a lower tone.
Making a subtle nod, Iori answered nonchalantly. "Un, I was always observing you at the hospital, every day for a month. Yes, your appearance changed quickly..."
"Well, it's because I met a special someone within a dream, or something similar to one, and if it weren't for her... I could not be in front of you right now..." Saeki said, followed with a depressed sigh.
Iori's body trembled, not expecting what she heard, her lips quivering. Noticing this, Saeki smiled, then gave her a kiss to calm her down.
"Now, where is my woman who was confident in comforting me lately?" Saeki asked with a playful smile.
Sighing, Iori straightened back up and gazed at him in a serious manner. Gesturing for him to continue by nodding her head.
"So, it started back when I was hit by a truck, and I'm sure I would have died back then... But, there was a woman's voice that woke me up--"
Saeki told her what happened but not all of it. He didn't tell her about the system though. It's not that he didn't trust Iori, it's just he didn't know if the goddess is fine with him talking about his secrets.
Well, the harem plan is necessary to reveal, because it's his only avenue to becoming powerful at this time.
Finishing his story, Iori raised her hand and spoke "So, you're telling me this woman bestowed something upon you that will make you stronger? By being with more women, yes?" She questioned in a steady voice. Then her tone suddenly became sharper with her next words "I know that you love me Saeki, but will you use other women just for gaining the power of which you speak?"
Shaking his head rapidly, Saeki immediately denied "No! I would never do that! If you allow me, as I did with you, I will take responsibility for what I do with them!" He said with his voice slightly raised. Despite having only been with him for a short amount of time, Iori understood his character.
She sighed and let go of his hand to massage her temples, trying to think of something, before she eventually gave up.
Looking at him once again, she spoke "Fine! I will accept your proposal. I don't know what your goal is for gaining power, but I'm sure it's to protect us, right?" I nod. Seeing me do so, she continues. "I know you are still hiding something, but I will not ask you anymore... I love you and I trust you, Saeki. But, there are some conditions!"
She jumped off from the bed and raised her index finger while facing me. "First of all, I am your first woman! Second, you should introduce the girl to me first before dating her! Third, the other party must agree about you having a harem or something. Fourthly, I will be your first woman! Got it?" her voice sounded domineering and ruly.
Raising his hand, Saeki spoke "The first and the four--"
But he was stopped by Iori putting her hands on her waist and leaning forward "Got!-it?!" Her glare was sharp while her tone got heavier.
"Yes... Of course, you will be my first woman." Saeki bobbed his head like a chicken from her conditions. It was more manageable than what he thought, but Saeki knew it will not always be like this...
She returned to sit on the bed beside him while crossing her arms. Then, she closed her eyes while tilting her head to the side, as if thinking of something with a 'hmmm' sound.
Nodding her head, as if she had finally gathered her thoughts, Iori faced Saeki and spoke "Now, even though I agreed to it. This country does still has its laws. Polygamy is not legal here as far as marriage is concerned. Meaning it is frowned upon by common society. I know you are aware of that. So, what's your plan?"
"Well, for now. It should be only discussed with those we trust, but I already have a plan," Saeki answered optimistically. He then moved behind Iori and placed his chin on her shoulder, his arms then wrapped around her waist to hold her close.
Hearing his confident answer. Iori turned her head to face his smiling, and somewhat punchable, devilishly handsome face. Even though Iori is still annoyed about the harem plan he talked about, she understands that he feels the need to get stronger.
"Then? How about that Kouko girl? She seems nice. You should really talk to her." Iori suddenly spoke, mentioning her name but Saeki already expected this.
"You know about us huh?" Saeki asked while his face getting closer.
"Of course, I'm your woman after all!" Iori rolled her eyes and pecked his lips, but her voice still sounded annoyed.
Chuckling, Saeki tightened his grip around her waist and asked in a whisper "What should I do to bring back your cheery mood?"
"You think that will wor-- Shiina?!"
Suddenly someone opened the door, and the stoic faced girl appeared, her hair still messy from sleeping. Shiina walked into the room and stepped in front of them. Thankfully, Saeki managed to move quickly. He already knew that Shiina was coming, though he decided not to tell Iori. Her troubled and blushing face looks far too cute to pass up an opportunity to see.
"I'm hungry... Mother is still Sleeping..." Shiina spoke in a weary tone, followed by a yawn. She then unexpectedly crawled on Saeki's bed. Promptly falling back asleep, almost instantly, after getting in a comfortable position. The soft sound of her snoring started to be heard in the room.
The couple looked at each other for a moment, then made a quiet chuckle before leaving the room to prepare breakfast. Since they had already earned so much with this week's business, Iori decided to close the restaurant for today and take a break.
With that, they started to cook breakfast for everyone.
