32 Zombies?

The group disembarked their ship and on the island part of this "ship" they were stuck inside. The large sails on the walls read "Thriller Bark".

Ichigo's peerage recognized the "theme" of this pirate ship pretty quickly. It was basically a giant haunted house.

They were actually kinda excited, Ichigo was curious if ghosts existed in this world.

It wasn't long before his question would be answered.

They started swarming out of the nearby shadows. They were ghosts….kinda. They had silly expressions on their faces and looked too whimsical.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" Nami and Usopp screamed together.

"Catch them!" Luffy yelled happily as he was swinging a butterfly net around. Zoro was trying to cut them only for his blades to pass right through.

Chopper would have been freaking out along with Nami and Usopp had he not been secured tightly in Saber's embrace.

Robin, Sanji, and Franky just looked on at their crews antics.

Brook also just looked on silently.

"I don't think those are real ghosts…" Rukia finally said to the pirates.

"What makes you so sure?" Sanji asked the Shinigami.

"I feel no souls in them" Rukia responded.

This caused the pirates to look over at the petite Shinigami.

"Probably some sort of devil fruit" Ichigo added. It seemed like a valid excuse for anything weird they saw—Devil fruits.

After seeing them lose interest in the ghosts, Shirou decided to trace some black keys and see if they were considered "evil" by the key's concepts.

As they made contact, the ghosts turned into static and dissipated.

The group looked on in confusion.

"I couldn't touch them, what are those blades made of?" Zoro asked in interest.

"Nothing too special, they're just effective against things "evil" in nature." Shirou said.

"Why did they act like that when they were pierced?" Ichigo asked quietly to the Magus.

"I think the world didn't understand the combination of the "ghosts" and the concept of the black

keys as they connected so it opted to remove the ghosts since they weren't as real as my keys" Shirou responded in a whisper.

"Devil Fruits are weird" Ichigo said.

"Agreed" Shirou replied.

As the group continued through the forest, they met some …interesting animals. They were stitched together and acted like zombies. They weren't strong at all, merely an annoyance at their numbers.

The combined groups dispatched them with ease.

They continued to move along this rather large forest, they moved in the direction of the mansion in the distance.

They saw a campfire up ahead. There were three individuals sitting at it. The group approached with caution, as they got close the three got up and turned towards the group.

They were…zombies?

The zombies looked more startled than the crew.

There was silence for a moment, both groups just continued to look at each other until one of the zombies pulled out a horn and blew on it. It sounded throughout the silent island.

"Did you just call for reinforcements?" Naruto aske the zombie, the whole situation was enough to leave him a bit dumbfounded.

"Uh…..no..." The zombie with the horn said as he tried to hide the horn behind his back.

"Its not good to lie" Naruto said towards the zombie, an amused expression on his face.

A moment of silence later and the three zombies turned around and started to sprint away.

"I wonder what would happen if we tried to Konsō one" Ichigo said, looking towards Yoruichi.

Yoruichi didn't respond but had a smile creeping up on her face.

She disappeared briefly and returned a few moments later with the lying zombie in hand.

Everyone was looking at the zombie with the horn. He tried to blow on it again before Naruto smacked it out of his hand.

"What are you going to do to it?" Nami said with fear.

"Going to try to put his spirit to rest" Ichigo said.

Rukia walked over and took out her blade. The Pirates watched on with interest.

She pressed the hilt of her blade on the forehead of the zombie.

His body started to dissipate and what looked like a shadow shot out into the sky and flew off into a random direction.

"That was…odd" Rukia said.

"Was it not supposed to do that?" Franky asked.

"Nope" Ichigo interjected.

"I don't think these things have souls either" Rukia said.

"Some type of automated construction using corpses?" Jaina thought outloud.

"Maybe some type of evil spirit?" Tier spoke up.

"I've heard about shoving souls into inanimate objects, maybe this is something like the opposite. They put something in the corpse to reanimate it and made it think it was "alive" or whatever that state of existence was" Shirou added.

"That's…..not actually a bad thought Shirou" Saber said to her lover.

"Why did that almost sound like an insult" He said with a sigh.

The pirates were just looking on at their debate, some surprised expressions at the mention of using souls for various activities and corpses for nefarious purposes.

"It sounds like you've all have had interesting lives." Sanji said to alleviate the awkward atmosphere.

"That's one way to describe it" Orihime said with a smile.

"All I understood was that its okay to go all out and not worry about any consequences" Zoro said with a gleeful voice.

"I heard the same thing" Yoruichi responded with a small chuckle.

They didn't get very far before the "reinforcements" arrived. A few hundred zombies carrying what might be described as weapons to a villager. They had brooms, pitchforks and some shovels.

"I call dibs" Sarah quickly said to the people present.

Before anyone could interject, she took out both of her pistols and quickly unloaded her clips into the "horde" of zombies.

The bullets weren't nearly as strong as her sniper, she didn't have to brace herself or compensate by reinforcing her body due to the recoil of the shots. But the bullets still easily pierced through several dozens of zombies and continued on words into the forest to not be seen again.

The pirates looked on with an expression of awe.

"So strong" several of them thought to themselves.

"Where did you get such powerful guns?" Robin asked the redhead.

"Ichigo's grandpa" She said bluntly.

"Don't ask, the less you know about the man the more sane your lives will be" Ichigo quickly said.

They had finally made their way to the center of the island where the buildings were.

There was a large gathering, their host were hosting a welcoming party.

They were a bunch of oddly shaped zombies, with various animal parts combined with human parts.

A lot of them wore armor and resembled knights.

"HAHAHA" the man who looked like the leader laughed maniacall.

It was the Lion faced man that Shirou had wounded previously. They had guessed that he had eaten a Devil Fruit that made it so he could become invisible.

"You've done good to make it this far, but you will not go any further."

"I Absalom and my Zombie Generals will defeat you intruders" Absalom said arrogantly.

"I would like a go" Saber said to the group.

The pirates had just been standing back and watching, which was surprising considering some of their personalities. Luffy was apparently more amused by Ichigo's group than the zombies themselves.

Chopper was finally able to escape her grasp as she reached into the small bag on her waist and pulled out an usual shaped blade that was much too large to logically fit into such a bag.

The pirates saw it, it radiated a feeling of holiness. Brook felt apprehensive at its light and took several steps back.

It was the blade she stol...won in Azeroth, Ashbringer. Excalibur would be overkill on such weaklings.

She used her new ability -soru- and quickly appeared infront of one of the larger zombie generals, with a quick upward slice the zombie had been smitten by the power of Ashbringer.

A familiar looking shadow shot off into the distance.

The other zombies looked on in horror. They weren't like the undead in Azeroth but they were deemed an abomination by the blade. Its light condemned them as saber cut her way through the mass.

With the combination of Haki and soru, she practically danced through the swaths of zombies around her. Her combat ability had been greatly enhanced by coming to this world, she was having quite a bit of fun.

The Pirates looked on with jaws dropped, this petite blonde just took out these large hulking monsters in a seconds. Zoro was in shock at the display of sword skill. She was easily recognizable as a knight which differed heavily form his style, but the distance in skill level was quite noticeable.

She rejoined the group as everyone but Ichigo's peerage stared in shock.

Absalom's jaw was dropped to the ground and his eyes were bugging out.

"That's….not a normal blade.." Sanji said. He didn't even need to be a swordmans to feel the power it radiated.

"Its not as good as my normal blade, but it's a strong holy sword in its own right." Saber said in a rare case of boastfulness.

"Holy blade?" Robin asked in shock.

"Not as good as your normal blade" Zoro questioned.

Saber just smiled at them.

"SOOOO COOL" Luffy finally couldn't control himself.

"Are you a knight?" Luffy asked excitedly.

"Yes" Saber responded with a smile at his gleeful expression. He reminded her of the children that used to watch her and her knights as they went off to battle. The expression of awe they had always gave her a smile.

Luffy started fawning over the fact that saber was a knight, only to be interrupted by some monologue that Absalom started without anyone noticing.

Luffy got angry enough to send a pistol over to the lion face and knock him out. This caused Ichigo's group to go into shock this time.

They finally got the explanation that luffy ate a fruit that caused his body to be made of rubber.

"this world is weird" Was all Ichigo thought after finding out.

Everything weird they were experiencing aside, Ichigo's group was enjoying themselves. It was a rather unique experience.

The groups continued for a distance until Brook abruptly stopped.

This didn't go unnoticed by everyone present.

"Something wrong?" Sasuke asked towards the skeleton. He wouldn't admit it, but he thought a talking skeleton was kinda cool so he kept taking glances at him when no one was looking.

"I haven't been honest with everyone." He said which caused both groups to stop and turn around at him.

Jaina was the first to notice.

"You don't have a shadow" she said.

Several things started to click, the shadows that sprung out of zombies that were defeated.

"I'm guessing there is a person that has the ability to take ones shadow and stuff it inside a corpse making it animate?" Jaina said, causing a "surprised" expression on brooks face.

"Theres more…" He said after quickly regaining his wits.

"If the sun shines on you without a shadow…your body will burn away" He said.

"So we need to get your shadow back" Luffy said as he turned to walk away.

"You're not mad I didn't say anything until now?" Brook asked, shocked.

"Would we have taken it seriously earlier?" Ichigo said towards the skeleton.

He gave the skeleton a pat on the shoulder.

"Don't worry about it, lets go get your shadow back" The Shinigami said.

"I never thought I would be helping keep a soul bound in the living world" Rukia mused.

"Thank you" Brook said quietly before hurrying to catch up.
