44 Humanity.

Ichigo and his group were making their way towards the school, they could feel the power that was radiating out. There was a battle going on and one side was getting beaten quite badly.

"Is this all the famed 72 pillars has to offer" Kokabiel laughed.

Issei was slumped against a nearby wall, several spears pierced into him and a red gauntlet on his hand.

Kiba was barely standing, he was able to achieve his balance breaker on his sacred gear known as 'sword birth'.

His sacred gear gives him the ability to create demonic swords, though they aren't conceptual like Shirou's blades.

This was the only reason he had yet to fallen like Issei, it was something that shouldn't exist. It was a holy-demonic sword. It was fused with the spirits of his friends who died in the experiments for the Excalibur fragments.

He stood in front of the rest of his fallen peerage. Rias was barely conscious and Sona's group wasn't faring much better.

He continued to stand only because Kokabiel found his balance breaker amusing. It came into existence because of a certain death.

Rias and Sona's peerages decided to confront Kokabiel and his minions. One of the more predominant of his minions was the Bishop who presided over the holy sword project that Kiba had been apart of. His presence was what triggered Kiba to achieve his balance breaker.

But they failed in the end. Valper Galilei, the bishop who did the experiments, had managed to fuse the four fragments of Excalibur together. It was dark and twisted, yet it still radiated a holy light.

Kokabiel didn't show any emotion as he watched Kiba run his sword through the former bishop's heart. This was more of a game to him than anything.

He stood there, high above the devils. Kiba trying his best to hold strong as almost everyone else was out of commission.

The fallen angel Kokabiel wasn't a vein idiot, he knew exactly what he was doing. He had truly been preparing for a war, his legion stood with him, they shared his ideals even as they all fell from heaven.

With his new 'excalibur' in hand, he motioned for his troops to finish off the unnecessary devils. They readied their light spears at his command, and they covered the sky as they fell to the earth.

The ones on the ground who were still conscious had closed their eyes for the inevitable pain right before their certain death. Their hearts heavy at the thought that they would trigger another war against their will.

As the moment was about to arrive and when they went to brace themselves for certain death.....they heard someone shout. The words he spoke didn't register but they felt a large fluctuation of energy form in front of them.

"Rho Aias" Shirou roared as the hail of spears came down.

The legendary shield formed up against the hail of spears, an explosion of energy burst forth as both met for the first time in history.

Kokabiel's eyes went wide as he recognized the mysterious shield. He had been expecting his 'guests' to arrive at any moment but this was certainly a surprise.

As the last of the spears collided with the unbreakable shield, the others had arrived by the magus's side.

Rias and Sona who were barely still conscious had tears form on their faces.

"Orihime, heal Issei first, he's the most wounded" Ichigo said.

Kokabiel looked on as he watched the girl heal the boy from near fatal wounds to brand new in a matter of seconds. He had a rare smile on his face.

"You have brought me a few surprises and you've only just arrived." Kokabiel spoke.

He looked toward the red haired magus. "You wield both a celt weapon and a Greek Shield, I'm curious how you came into the possession of them" He said.

After the fallen angel spoke, the devils present finally realized what had just saved them. The Rho Aias was a legend from the Trojan war and yet it was somehow in the hands of this Japanese boy.

Adding on the fact that he also had that spear... they were looking at him in confusion.

"And that young lady, she was the only one to not show off her abilities in the rating game and I see why now. That ability would be coveted by the world if news spread" The angel might not know the specifics of her ability but the sheer potency of it was absurd in his eyes.

"But I digress, I'm happy you received my not so subtle invitation." He said, looking towards the exorcists that had arrived with the group.

The two girls were wearing an angry expression, they were not even being looked at like enemies. But they knew….they were out matched and stayed silent.

As Kokabiel finished his words, his legion of fallen angels had formed up on him. There were thousands that awaited his command. Though they used to amount in the tens of thousands before he fell, but it was still a legion that was feared throughout the world.

The Angel was known as being undefeated in battle, he may not have been the strongest, but his legion had never lost a fight. They were the first to adopt human battle tactics. They mirrored themselves after the Romans of old.

Each of these angels were at least at the level of a mid class devil and some were at the high class level. Kokabiel himself was equivalent to a Satan class devil.

These numbers did not represent cannon-fodder, they were trained and they were strong.

Ichigo's group looked at the blade that the fallen angel held.

"I did not think that I would see something even worse than those knock-offs they called Excalibur' Saber announced to the angel.

The angel adopted an amused expression. "Oh, that's funny coming from the fake King" Kokabiel announced.

"I know for a fact that king Arthur was a Man" He stated. He had fought alongside he king on several occasions, he would never forget what he considered the peak of human achievement.

All the devils present looked towards the self proclaimed king. They started to doubt her claims now, kokabiel was present during the age of King Arthur.

It was a bit comical, Saber had tried to run away from her status for so long as she tried to win the grail and wish away her past. But after meeting this group and being with the man she loved, she learned to embrace her past. For all the mistakes and faults she made in her wake when she ruled, she still inspired hope across the world. The legends that formed based on her deeds were written down in the history books for future generations to learn about.

It started to become her pride, she WAS King Arthur. She would never allow anyone to besmirch that claim regardless of what world she resided in.

She looked towards her companions for support. They all turned to her and gave her a nod. They had been together long enough to know what she would do.

"What no words to retort, faker?" Kokabiel taunted.

"I admit..." Saber said.

Everyone looked towards her. Kokabiel had a smile tug on his lips while the devils had a sad expression form.

"I am not King Arthur.....of this world" She said resolutely.

It took a moment for the words to sink in to everyone present. 'of this world' was ringing in their heads nonstop.

A lot of information started to finally make sense. None of their identities had been discovered before they turned up in Ichigo's peerage. So many questions had suddenly been answered….and more had to be asked.

"My kingdom fell, and I have left my world behind…." She said quietly.

"BUT I REFUSE TO BE CALLED A FAKE KING" She roared as she drew her Excalibur.

The blade had made its appearance in all its glory.

To accept the title of 'fake king' would dishonor all those who gave their lives to her. All those who died on the battlefield in her name. All those who looked on to her legend and were granted the courage to push forward.

Kokabiel looked on with his eyes wide. This was beyond his expectations. He had thought that maybe her Excalibur was a fake... granted, a good fake. But feeling its light now…..he couldn't dispute her claim. She was King Arthur, that light was unmistakable. The light in the blade he held was nothing compared to the glory her blade shined with.

Ichigo looked over to his magus friend. "Shirou, we're going to need to limit the damage. The fallout from this fight may kill any humans living nearby"

Shirou agreed with the shinigami.. The cat was out of the bag already, so showing off his strongest magic wouldn't make much of a splash in comparison.

Saber who heard their exchange knew what was coming. She agreed with Ichigo's decision. She did not wish to hold back as she destroyed these fallen infront of her.

Kokabiel was a bit speechless at this whole revelation. The notion that they were from another world...it had so many implications his mind was reeling.

"I am the bone of my sword" The magus said.

Kokabiel was broken from this thoughts as the feeling of steel radiated out. He felt swords…..thousands of them pointed at him.

"What are you doing boy…?" He asked towards the magus.

Shirou didn't answer the angel and continued.

"Steel is my body and fire is my blood"

The feeling started to radiate more. The sound of grinding gears and the taste of dust was hanging in the air.

"I have created over a thousand blades"

As the words left his mouth, kokabiel started to feel a tingle go up his spine. Everyone else present felt the same sensation. The unknown spell he was chanting….his otherworldly spell….it was dangerous. Yet…he didn't make a move. He wanted to see it, he had a voice in the back of his head.....it was telling him to let the boy finish what he was chanting.

"Unaware of loss, Nor aware of gain"

Kiba who was still barely standing felt his blade start to shake. It wanted to go over to the red haired magus. It was acting like it had met its father after a very long time.

"Have withstood the pain to create many weapons"

The words were resonating with their souls.

"Waiting for ones arrival….."

They did not recognize the spell chant. They had never heard such a thing before yet the words held such power in them.

"I have no regrets. This is the only path."

Kokabiel was an odd fallen angel. He didn't fall because he fell into depravity like much his kin….his reasoning was different. It was because he loved humanity so much. His father had forbid interference in their lives. They had free will and God wanted to see them stand by themselves. But Kokabiel couldn't leave them alone….he fell….to save them, the dangers in the world were too numerous for the new species to take on. He wasn't the only one who felt the same way he had, his legion followed him as he forsake his place at God's side to protect the children he wouldn't. He never stopped caring about his father but he also cared deeply for these children that he had left to fight for themselves.

This is the reason he wanted to restart the war. He wanted the three factions to destroy themselves.

The Heaven faction, the Fallen angel faction, and the Devil faction. There was no 'human' faction in there. The humans were treated as disposable goods. The church experimented on them and turned them into weapons. The devils tempted and turned them into slaves. The Fallen used them to satisfy their own desires.

He would fight for them as he always did.

It was one of the reasons he was so rude to the supposedly 'fake' king. He remembered the light that King Arthur shined with. The peak of humanity, the representation of what they could achieve. He didn't want that memory tarnished, but he was wrong.

He felt something from this boy. To him, it was equal to the light that Excalibur was currently shining with. It wasn't the embodiment of humanities glory that permeated the battlefield….it was something else that wasn't tangible, he was having trouble forming the word that it correlated to.

"My whole life has been….."

The word that described the feeling finally popped into his head as the boy finished his chant.

"Unlimited Blade Works"

Fire erupted from Shirou's location and everyone's vision went white.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Everyone looked around them. A rusty sky with Gears floating overhead. An uncountable number of blades sticking out of the desolate sands like gravestones.

These blades, they could all tell….they were powerful. Weapons that a person would be proud to wield for their entire lives. Weapons that countries would wage war over. Demon weapons, Holy weapons, God slaying weapons. They were all scattered about.

It was a world of unlimited blades.

They all looked towards the boy who stood there emotionless. He had done something only possible by gods.

He had created a world.

"What is this….." Rias couldn't help but blurt out.

"My soul" Shirou said with a sad smile. He didn't like showing it to other people...his warped soul.

His words were not loud, but they echoed across these desolate plains

They continued to look at the boy in shock. He breached the realm of gods. He had used his soul…..to create a world.

He hadn't been a devil for very long, which meant…..this was a human magic.

Kokabiel had tears run down his face as he heard the words the magus spoke. The word he had been trying to think of finally came to him.

"Potential" he quietly spoke to himself.

The reason he fell in love with the young race in the first place. That infinite potential they showed.

The glory that shined with Excalibur overshadowed almost every other human achievement to date…but this…..

This mundane boy had created a world through his own effort. Him being a devil now meant nothing to the Fallen Angel. To him…this was the new peak of human achievement.

He didn't speak his mind, he didn't need anyone to know why he fought. He was content in his knowledge that humanity would be better off after this was all over.

"Why do you fight boy?" He asked towards the magus.

"To Protect those who cannot protect themselves." Shirou spoke without hesitation.

Kokabiel heard his words and laughed. Others may misunderstand, but he was laughing in joy at the boys declaration. He didn't need them to know. He didn't need to explain himself. He knew that he may not make it through this fight, but to die at the hands of both The glory of humanity and its pinnacle of its achievement....it would be a death he was content with.

"Then I guess battle is inevitable" He said as he regained his composure. His soldiers carried his same sentiments. They formed up on their leader, ready to give their lives to the cause they have fought for their entire lives.
