[The Substitute Shinigami Arc] Part 15: Redoing

I kept staring at Tatsuki still not knowing what to say, but it didn't look like she was going to leave here without some answers.

Yato: 'Great…just what I needed…'

Tatsuki: "I'm waiting. Speak up, Yato."

Yato: "Tatsuki…this story is…pretty complicated."

Tatsuki: "I have time."

Yato: "But I don't. We still have the next class period and you have your karate club." - I tried to use that as an excuse even though I knew it wouldn't be enough to convince Tatsuki.

Tatsuki: "I don't think they'll mind if I miss once." - She crossed her arms and spoke impatiently.

Yato: "I'm not saying I won't say anything, I just meant that now is not a good time." - I pointed at Ichigo's body as I spoke, hoping that Tatsuki would get the message.

Tatsuki: "Stop stalling and tell me what happened to Ichigo! Why was he wearing that black kimono and now he's passed out? And what does the new student have to do with this story?"

What I wanted most at that moment was not to have suggested being responsible for Ichigo's body. Before I could answer the girl, a third voice joined the conversation.

???: "If you're not able to do a job, why did you volunteer?"

I looked around looking for who had just spoken. It sounded like a child's voice.

Tatsuki: "Don't pretend you didn't hear me!"

Apparently…only I heard that voice…

???: "Would you rather avoid your suggestion or would you prefer Tatsuki to listen to me? You better decide…or you'll probably end up getting beaten up by her…hihihihi"

Yato: 'If there's a way to avoid it…'

???: "Then you better hold on…you might feel a little headache" - The voice seemed to echo everywhere.

Suddenly Tatsuki went completely still, as if she had frozen in place, and then countless red threads began to spin around me until I couldn't see anything but a red swirl of threads. I also noticed that Ichigo's body was gone.

Yato: "But what…is this…?"

After a few seconds, that absurd amount of threads disappeared and when I realized I was again next to Ichigo and Rukia.

Ichigo: Don't give me that! I want to know what's going on here. Is this some kind of joke of yours, Yato?

Yato: "What?" - I was a little confused and couldn't answer much.

Ichigo: "I'm talking about this shinigami story! Are you a shinigami too?!"

Before Rukia and I could answer, just as the voice had said, I started to get a very intense headache. I closed my eyes as I held my head hoping the pain would go away soon.

Ichigo: "Hey! What's the matter, Yato?"

Rukia: "Is everything okay?"

Yato: "It's okay…it was just a headache…the pain will go away…" - Even though I said that, my head still hurt a lot.

Ichigo: "By the look on your face, this looks like a lot more than just a headache."

Yato: "Don't worry. I'll go to the infirmary and see if the nurse has any medicine to ease this."

I left in a hurry without even listening to what they were saying. I tried to act like the pain was actually lessening so they wouldn't bother following me around.

Yato: 'I saw the same scene twice… something similar must have happened when I slept on the bus… that means Tatsuki followed us to a part of the school and is waiting to confront me… I'm literally not in the mood for this…'

Despite being very uncomfortable, I decided to take another path to the entrance of the school, avoiding meeting with Tatsuki.

Yato: 'If every time my Fullbring activates results in these headaches or fainting it's going to end up being a very troublesome one. I've got to learn to control it soon.'
