Mikoto Masashi

A silver-haired androgynous person could be seen laying on the grassy ground unconscious, seemingly in the middle of a green forest.

After an unknown amount of time, their eyes slowly fluttered open, and with a groan, they got onto their feet.

The overflowing silver hair that was slipping down their back was slightly dirtied, as they wore a black outfit with a red hoodie on top that had a cross necklace over it.

"Hmm?" Their gleaming golden eyes calmly glanced around as leaves would slightly rustle from the wind, and the sun could be seen shining through the trees above them.

"Is this the afterlife?" They curiously questioned aloud as they rested their hand on a katana hoisted on their waist.

Realizing their predicament, they started to take a few steps forward, seemingly trying to exit the forest.

The crunch of leaves and branches could be heard as they continued to walk with a carefree gaze watching their surroundings.

Weirdly, there seemed to be no animals that they could see, earning a glint of interest from their eyes.

Eventually after dozens of minutes, they finally saw a run-down village as they exited the forest.

"This type of structure seems prehistoric..." They muttered as they approached the village.

Once entering, they walked through the center of the desolate village which seemingly has no inhabitants.

Until suddenly they stopped walking as their gaze landed on a certain broken wooden house.

"Come out, come out... Or I'll be forced to go there myself." An eerily calm smile adjourned their features as they stared at the house with intrigue.

After a few seconds, nothing happened and as they were about to approach, suddenly slow-paced footsteps could be heard.

The door creaked open as an old man stepped out with a staff, he was wearing brown rags that seemed too big for him and brown boots.

He approached the silver-haired figure and once reaching him, spoke.

"What do ye want?" The old man croaked out as he leaned on his staff.

"Information would be appreciated." They replied with an amicable smile.

"Information?... Did you just arrive?" The old man questioned as he seemed to understand their situation.

"Yes... I assumed I died, but it seems I'm in a rather peculiar situation."

"I see... well follow me." The old man was about to turn around but the silver-haired person spoke.

"I'd like the information now..." They continued to smile but their eyes slightly darkened with a cold glint which didn't go unnoticed by the old man.

"Ahem... Well if you're in such a rush, I don't mind quickly telling you the basics." The old man swiftly replied with a hint of nervousness in his tone.

Silence ensued for a few seconds before the old man started to explain.

"Well to start with, this place is called the Soul Society, where the living go after they die, in essence, it's basically the afterlife." The old man explained as he noticed the silver-haired figure's eyes slightly widen in surprise for the first time.

Once he was about to continue, he noticed they raised their hand, indicating for him to stop talking.

"That is all." The silver-haired person quickly gained their composure as they started to speak themselves.

"In which direction is the Seireitei?" They coolly asked.

The man was about to question how they even knew what the Seireitei was but didn't wanna anger the person in front of them, so they simply answered the question.

"The Seireitei is northeast of here but it's dozens of miles away." The old man exasperatedly stated.

"Is that so?" They simply smirked as they turned around and started to head northeast.

"Wait! What's your name!?" The old man didn't know why he wanted to know a stranger's name but he asked nonetheless.

"Mikoto Masashi..." Mikoto nonchalantly waved without looking as he continued to walk away, disappearing back into the forest.

As Mikoto walked through the empty forest, he was in deep thought as he started to understand his situation.

'It seems I've been reincarnated into the Bleach verse, or more rather I've simply moved on to the afterlife.' He thought inwardly as he nimbly hopped over a branch.

He was familiar with Bleach as it was one of the anime he watched when he was in prison.

Why was he in prison?

Don't ask...

Most people would be surprised at their situation but Mikoto was quite used to mystical events, with him being an exorcist in his past life, staying calm no matter the situation, is a must.

His hand never left the hilt of his katana as he eventually glanced down at it.

'Fascinating enough, I still have my memories and it seems my katana has followed me to the next life...' Mikoto had some theories on why such a thing happened but silently continued walking.

Promptly stopping in his steps, he observes his surroundings, only the luscious trees surrounding him could be seen.

"This should be a nice place to train." His soothing voice remarked with a graceful smile.

Mikoto planned to get stronger somehow while he was traveling to the Seireitei, he couldn't allow himself to be defenseless in such a world.

Sitting down and crossing his legs, Mikoto placed his katana down beside him and entered a meditating position as he closed his eyes.

He thought back to the Bleach power system, he remembered the idea of Reishi being a type of spiritual matter that exists everywhere in the Soul Society and Hueco Mundo.

The rough grass below him, the rustling trees, and the surrounding atmosphere were composed of Reishi, he concentrated his senses, attempting to sense the smallest of molecules surrounding him.

After a few seconds, he was able to see a rough outline of what was surrounding him but nothing detailed.

He focused on his own sitting figure and raised a brow.

'It seems I've been unconsciously restraining my Reiatsu.' He pondered inwardly.

He could currently see a black hue of energy surrounding his body of what he assumed to be Reiatsu.

Mikoto surmised that this was most likely because he was trained to hide his presence in his past life as an exorcist.

Opening his eyes and looking down at his right hand, he clenched it a few times.

"I've even grown in physical strength... The most likely case is that the Reiryoku I was born with must be strong, and also increases my overall physical attributes." He murmured.

Swiftly standing up, he intended to test the difference in his physical attributes.

Walking up to a tree beside him, he slowly brought his fist back, before crashing it down onto the tree's trunk.

Bang!

His fist dug straight through the bark of the tree, making the upper half of the tree slowly fall down with a loud resounding thud.

Thud!

Mikoto glanced toward his fist, a bit perplexed at the monstrous strength that wasn't even close to his full power.

"What can I expect from such an amusing world..." He lightly chuckled, inwardly shaking away any shock.

He then picked up his katana and slowly started doing a series of dances with it, his slender body moved in synch with his sword as if it was another limb.

Gradually, he started increasing the speed of his dancing movement, moving with grace and effortlessness as his figure moved at inhumane speeds.

He was currently performing a series of dance movements from his past life that helped him keep his sword skills honed.

In his life before, he worked as an exorcist of demons, but the demons weren't physically stronger, rather they just had regenerative abilities and could only be killed if they were beheaded.

While that may seem easier said than done, they were quite the infectious bunch.

Whoever they bit would turn with them and since they suddenly appeared in large abundance, many humans were turned into demons.

In essence, they were glorified zombies that could regenerate.

Luckily, there were individuals who were highly skilled in combat, able to fend off the demons, called the Guardians.

Mikoto was one of the few who decided to use swords rather than the conventional gun as a weapon, but even with this decision, he was considered the strongest Guardian.

This wasn't simply because he was highly skilled with a sword but rather, he had superhuman physical capabilities that came from a lab experiment by his government which he agreed to.

But at the end of the day, he was simply a human, and his reign of strength came to an end, promptly sending him to what he believed to be the Soul Society currently.

After a few more minutes, Mikoto stopped in his movements and looked down toward the katana in his hand.

"Life is always a mystery but that isn't necessarily bad, it simply means that it should be experienced firsthand." He had a mysterious smile as he looked deep into the silver glint of the blade of his katana.

Once silence ensued, Mikoto simply sheathed his katana back into the scabbard on his waist as the sheathing noise resounded in the quiet forest.

He continued his journey through the bright green forest calmly monitoring his surroundings with a serene expression.

After a few hours of walking non-stop, he noticed it was getting dark and decided to take rest for now.

With his enhanced superhuman capabilities, he jumped up and landed on a thick branch, sitting down and leaning his back against the trunk of the tree with one of his legs dangling in the air, his eye's slowly drifted to a close.

****

Mikoto's eyes slowly opened with the sun shining down on him, looking around him, he remembers his situation as he stretches his arms upwards with a slight groan, before deciding to hop down the branch he was on.

He didn't say anything, simply choosing to continue walking, with his hand relaxing on the hilt of his katana.

His eye's abruptly gained a mischievous glimmer as he stood still.

"Hmm... I wonder if this will work."

Static!

Everything nearby suddenly darkened as a black-like pressure descended.

The trees started to rustle viciously as statics of what seemed to be electricity could be seen in the surrounding.

Mikoto stood there unfazed but his eyes looked greedy, as if he wanted to exert even more Reiatsu.

The enclosing area around him appeared as if it was nighttime, as it took a dark shade of black Reiatsu that continuously shook the forest around him.

Mikoto patiently waited for a short while, up until a loud repetitive thudding noise could be heard from a distance, approaching his figure from behind.

He turned around as he couldn't make out the figure through all the trees, but he noticed dozens of trees falling as the large being made its way through.

Finally, its figure could be seen, as the last trees dropped to the ground with a loud thud as it walked through them.

It had two large horns protruding at the top of its head, with bones sticking out its elbows, it simply looked like a monster of a moose with a hole in its stomach, it was standing at over 25 feet tall, easily towering over the 5'10 Mikoto.

It stopped as it noticed the silver-haired figure on the ground that seemed to be exuding a powerful Reiatsu.

ROARRR!!

It roared with fervor, as if battle hungry, without wasting time, it instantly lunged toward Mikoto.

"Well, this should be fun." He commented as he watched the raging Hollow charge at him.
