Chapter 149 Hunting rats

Ichigo sent an order to every clone he had to help Yasaka find the perpetrator. It wasn't as easy as he initially thought.

Hana could find them only on the surface. She could not find them if they used the separate space or teleportation.

Ichigo must first check if they used teleportation magic or a sperate space.

"They used separate spaces. It was more troublesome than I thought."

Ichigo could make a barrier to stop them from coming inside Yokai City directly but he could not find where they were.

Regardless of Ichigo's attempts to mobilize his clones and Hana's limited ability to locate the perpetrators, the use of separate spaces by the culprits made the job even more problematic, leaving Ichigo with the problem of how to effectively track them down within Yokai City.

Or they might have already left. He didn't know.

"Let's just create the barrier first."

Ichigo then created a very powerful barrier that could seal off the entire boundary of Yokai City, preventing anyone from entering or leaving without his or Yasaka's knowledge.

However, this also meant that if the culprits were still within the city, they would be trapped inside with no way to escape. Ichigo would station his wood clone permanently here to keep watch and gather information on any suspicious activities within the barrier.

With his wood clone there. Yasaka and Kunou would feel much more at ease knowing that someone they wholeheartedly trusted was constantly monitoring the situation.

Ichigo hoped that by creating this barrier and keeping a close eye on things, they would be able to catch the culprits and bring an end to the chaos in Yokai City.

And after his clones finished creating the barrier, he then felt someone very powerful approaching them.

"What the hell happened? Why can't we move outside the city?!"

A man in a dark robe spoke with frustration, his voice filled with urgency.

"We need a way out. If the plan fails, we all will die!"

"Stop whining already and help us think about what to do. The device we got from the devil didn't work anymore. Maybe we have to go out the normal way."

"Normal way? You just asked for death. Don't you see that they raised the security to the point that not even small animals could pass through?"

"Then what should we do then? We couldn't go out and we couldn't stay here anymore because our food supplies were running low."

They were discussing their desperate situation, trapped with limited options for escape. The tension in the room was visible as they considered the risks of trying to leave compared to the guarantee of starvation if they stayed. 

The clock was ticking, and they knew that time was running out for them to make a decision that could mean life or death.

"Should we eat them?"

"Hum"

These suspicious people looked at Yokai, whom they had kidnapped. They were to be sold to the devil but now that they couldn't leave the city, maybe they should just eat them.

They were vampires, and their blood could help them with hunger. 

As the group contemplated their dire situations, they heard a noise coming from the outside.

"What is that noise?"

"How could that be possible? We are inside a separate space. They shouldn't be able to find us." 

The group exchanged worried glances. Then they heard a voice come out of nowhere.

"Do you think hiding inside a separate space would help you? Ignorant rats."

The group's hearts jumped as the voice was so familiar to them. They knew to whom this voice belonged.

Fear gripped them tightly.

"We need to go now! HE FOUND US!"

They didn't have a chance to do anything before the shadow with many eyes swallowed them whole. The group screamed in terror as they were engulfed by the darkness, their bodies disappearing into the abyss. 

The voice continued to taunt them, growing louder and more menacing with each passing moment. It was clear that their worst nightmare had become a reality.

Outside of Yokai City. Before the kidnappers got swallowed by the darkness,

Ichigo looked at the man in a red suit with a woman in a police uniform. They came to Yokai City after he had erected the barrier so he knew immediately that someone very powerful had come.

Ichigo came to Yokai City with his real body. Yasaka and her entourage were also there, along with Naruko and Sasuke.

"Two ultimate-class vampires? What are you doing here?"

Ichigo stood his ground. They were stronger than him but even then, he would not back down if they had come with malicious intentions.

If it got worse, he would use his true form to fight with them. 

"Chill out, boy; I and my disciple didn't come here to cause trouble. We came here to hunt some rats."

The man in the red suit said it with a smirk. Ichigo's eyes narrowed as he observed the man, trying to gauge his true intentions. 

He had learned not to trust easily, especially when it came to powerful beings.

"What rats? Do you mean those that kidnapped people here?"

"Kidnapped people? It should be something those bloody rats like to do. So yes, it should be them."

"How can we trust you that you are not with them?"

"Oh my, What a careful little boy you are. No, you shouldn't trust us. You can just come with us and let us show you how to hunt those rats. Maybe you can help me wipe them out. You got very interesting blood after all."

Ichigo's eyes narrowed when he talked about his blood. But when Ichigo wanted to ask more, The woman in the police uniform smacked him on the head.

"Stop being naughty, Alucard. We need to quickly find them before they do something to the victims."

When Ichigo heard the name Alucard, he couldn't help but look at him again. His appearance was the same as that described in the books he had read.

If he was Alucard, then. The culprits should be vampires and the victims might be in grave danger.
