Chapter 118 Mon Chevalier

Xenovia and Irina felt bad somehow, their hearts heavy with conflicting emotions. The church had always taught them that all the devils were bad, leaving no room for doubt or questioning.

They set off on their first mission and then made this kind of mistake.

"They want to kill me without me doing anything to them! I had never seen their faces before. How could they try to kill someone without saying a word?!"

Furina complained to her heart content. Now that there was someone to watch over her, She was like a kid who threw a tantrum.

She grabbed his cloth while pointing her finger at them.

"I felt so scared just now. How could they ever compensate me for what they did?"

She exclaimed. She looked at her Ichiogo with expectant eyes. She hoped that he would be on her side and not on his childhood friend's side.

Ichigo went silent a little bit, then he asked.

"What compensation do you want from them?"

"I... I don't know, but you have to do something. Otherwise, if they want revenge, They might come to me afterward and torment me and make my life miserable!"

She spoke with her heart. She might have faced this familiar situation before. Ichigo could understand her concern. She didn't want any compensation. She just wanted them to leave her alone.

But wasn't she very strong herself? Not to mention the hydro dragon beside her. Even if they want revenge. They would be the ones to be killed instead.

Ichigo then looked at Xenovia and Irina, then spoke.

"I see. I will do something about it. And it was all their fault for not saying anything and making the situation worse. The church really doesn't know how to teach their followers to handle conflicts peacefully."

He knew how the church worked. They were like Shinigami in some aspects. Shinigami would never tolerate anyone who wanted to destroy the balance of the human world. They didn't tolerate anything that related to the devils.

Xenovia wanted to say something when she heard Ichigo talk badly about the church, but just a powerful glare from Ichigo shut her up. She knew that if they compared each other by seniority, Ichigo was much higher than her in status.

"I will let this matter go this time, as there's nothing that happened except for her feeling scared for her life."

Ichigo stated it firmly, his voice carrying a hint of authority.

"But you two still break the rules by making a move inside my contract partner's territory. If it happens again, there will be consequences." Irina nodded her head. She understood that Ichigo's warning was not to be taken lightly. She knew him since they were young, and he never went back on his word. It wasn't just a warning, but a promise.

Ichigo looked at Furina. He felt that she and he connected to each other somehow. He shook his head, as he couldn't tell if it was just a gut feeling or something more.

"Don't worry about it. They wouldn't do anything anymore. If they do, I will be the one to punish them."

Furina nodded her head when she heard his words. She could tell that he would do what he said.

"T-Then I leave it to you."

Furina then told Neuvillette that they should go back home to Fuyuki town. Furina then smiled at Ichigo and said,

"See you later, Mon Chevalier."

Then the two left swiftly.

Ichigo didn't know what Mon Chevalier meant, so he didn't care about it, but what did she mean by later? Did she think of meeting him again soon?

"Now let's talk about this holy sword, shall we? Follow me. I need you two to speak with my contractor first."

Ichigo led Xenovia and Irina toward Kuoh Academy. It's near lunch time, so he might as well cook something for them.

And both Xenovia and Irina's stomachs growled loudly, reminding them that they didn't eat anything for days. They were very poor now as their money was stolen during their journey.

"Let me guess. It was you who lost the wallet somewhere, right, Irina?"

Irina couldn't help but nod. He could tell that it was her because of her expression. She always acted like this when she was a kid.

"I lost it on the train. No, I should say that it was stolen. I never thought that with my senses, someone would still be able to steal from me."

"On a train? So it's understandable."

"What do you mean it's understandable?"

"You might meet those Youkai that like to steal from people. They usually live around the place where they could steal. Just treat it as a valuable experience."

Irina nodded her head. She didn't know much about the supernatural world in Japan, even though it was her birth country.

...

Rias and Sona looked at Xenovia and Irina. While Ichigo sat on the sofa near them, Koneko sat on his lap and ask for patting which he gladly obliged.

"So you two want to operate in this town and tell us not to interfere with you, am I right?"

"That's right, we don't need help from the devil."

"Then fuck off. I don't need people from the church on my turf as well."

Rias spoke with a straight face. She did care about them because Ichigo had already dealt a heavy blow to the exiled exorcists and fallen angels.

In fact, all the holy swords that were stolen were with Ichigo. He didn't give it to them because I might be of use to Rias.

Even though Irina was his childhood friend. He wouldn't give them to her, as he didn't trust the church.

Xenovia's face went rigid. She didn't think that she would refuse her like this.
