110 Chapter 110 It was all his plan all along

"Let's play chess."

Sona said it to Ichigo over the phone. He didn't know why she suddenly suggested playing chess, as they had never played chess with each other before.

"I don't see the reason to deny it, but I am very busy right now."

"Please. Just play with me only once, and I will never ask anything again."

When he heard her say that, he couldn't bring himself to deny it. He agreed to play chess with Sona, curious about what had prompted her sudden interest in playing chess with him.

"Okay. When do you want to play it?"

Ichigo asked.

"Right now."

Sona answered.

Ichigo didn't think she wanted to play a game of chess with him that much. He wondered if there was something more to her request, but decided to set it aside for now. She was Rias's best friend, so she wouldn't do something weird, right?

"Okay, I will go to you now."

Ichigo hung up the phone, then he looked at Orihime, who was very happy playing with Hanakami. He then said to her that he had something to do outside and may not come back home tonight.

Orihime smiled at him and said, Take care. Ichigo nodded and left.

"Ne, Hana-chan. Do you think he has a mistress outside?"

Hana looked at her and didn't say anything, as she didn't want to be involved in her papa's love life. What an intelligent little girl!

...

Ichigo went to Rias's place right away.

On the way, he saw the black cat that he had met before. He was now looking at someplace, then disappeared. He didn't mind him, and he just let him be.

When he reached the place, he was greeted by Koneko, Rias, and Sona. They had already prepared the board of the chess game for him and Sona.

"Ichigo-nii!"

Koneko went and hugged him with a smile. She really needed his natural scent to calm herself down. Lately, she dreams of her sister very often and sees a weird black cat everywhere. She thought it was just a nightmare, but it was too real.

Ichigo didn't say anything and just rubbed Koneko's head gently, understanding the comfort she sought in his presence.

"I am here to accept your challenge, Sona."

Ichigo said it seriously. He never backed down from any challenge. Sona smiled awkwardly. She didn't tell him the reason why she wanted to play chess with him yet, as she was confident that she would win.

She knew that he was intelligent, but if it came to chess, she was sure that he wouldn't be able to match her.

Sona adjusted her glasses a little and nodded at him seriously.

"Let's the game begin."

...

"This..."

She lost miserably. Sona's confidence shattered as Ichigo made move after move, outsmarting her at every turn.

It was a humbling defeat that she hadn't anticipated. As the pieces were cleared from the board, Sona couldn't help but look at him again.

"It's my win. No mercy for enemy."

Ichigo smirked triumphantly, his eyes gleaming with satisfaction. Sona couldn't help but feel annoyed.

"Can we play again?"

"But didn't you say it only once?"

Sona's expression turned sour. Yes, She said that, but she still wanted to play another game with him.

Seeing her expression, Ichigo couldn't help but rubbed his neck a little, he said.

"Okay, another game, but this time if I win, you have to tell me why you want to play chess with me this much. Was it because of Diodora Astaroth?"

It was his plan from the start. He could simply play with her another game, but he had to put her in a situation where it was hard to refuse his question.

Sona was hestitating for a moment, but she finally nodded.

"Alright, Kurosaki-san. If you win this game, I'll tell you the real reason why I wanted to play chess with you."

Sona replied, her voice trembling a little, but she was willing to keep her promise. He would know about it sooner or later anyway.

Sona looked at her soon-to-be fiancé. He was smart and good-looking. He was a million times better than those devil youth bastards.

She couldn't help but feel relief that he actually wanted to help her, even if it meant becoming an enemy with someone so rotten like Diodora.

They played another game, and she lost. How could someone be this good with chess? She even had a chance to play with the smartest devil. But even he couldn't finish her cleanly like this.

'It felt like everything was in his plan all along...'
