15 God Is Dead.

It was the air. It was a funny thing at least to Yasushi that the basis for Negars ability was the air. Negar wasn't some incredibly fast hollow who could even shock Yasushi in terms of speed. No, it was all in the air.

Negar was travelling through the moisture in the air. That's why he was able to trick Yasushi with his positioning in the sky. By merging his being with the moisture in the air, he could move at incredible speeds. Truly fitting for the ruler of Hueco Mundo.

However, while the sky was Negars domain; Yasushi was the only ruler of the air.

Figuring out the rest of his ability was then quick work for Yasushi. He used the moisture in the air to create and shape constructs in the air. So all he had to do was create an environment where water couldn't be created.

There was a common trend in Yasushi's Shikai. While he could control the wind, he could also affect the surroundings around him. But he could only go up or down. Whether it be increasing or decreasing, hardening or softening, fastening or slowing. Something had to go up or down.

This, combined with the area of effect of Yasushi's zanpakuto, meant that everyone within a certain range was subject to what happened. Including himself and allies.

Yasushi looked over his shoulder and saw Hikifune. She'd probably get caught up in this, but he didn't really care, she could take care of herself. The air got hotter, but it wasn't a massive change.

Negar, of course, wouldn't let Yasushi think. They were fighting to the death, there was no such thing as waiting. With a single flap of his wings, he disappeared just like he did before.

Yasushi placed his second arm on his Zanpakuto and placed his left leg in front of his right.

The academy stance.

The first thing you're taught about in Zanjutsu is your stance. Stance is the important thing in a battle. A good stance gives you the ability to react no matter what position you've been placed in.

Yasushi closed his eyes and blocked everything out. Focusing only on the air around him. His breathing stabilised, and he was calm.

With a twist of his body, Yasushi turned around and sliced down. This time he drew blood. Quite a lot, actually.

Negar's dragon body appeared out of the air with two of its heads missing. 2 gone 6 to go.

Negar lunged forward with a claw, but Yasushi blocked it with his sword before it could cut into him.

"I got you this time. The blow you gave to my head gave me some fresh inspiration. I thank you." Yasushi said with a smile.

The fear of failure, as Yasushi learnt, was the best teacher. While Yasushi wasn't scared of dying, he was scared of failing more. It put a strange passion inside him to succeed. It was a primal fear of humanity.

Negar caught up on what was happening pretty quickly. Yasushi's face was parched, his lips looked flaky, and within his mouth, there was no moisture.

'He's my natural enemy. I can't use water in this environment.' Negar thought. He used his free hand to attempt a right hook. If Yasushi reacted the way he wanted, then it would be checkmate.

However, Yasushi was one step ahead. Before it could reach him, he waved his hand up and a green barrier erected out of the air to stop the punch.

"Checkmate!" A cero fired off of Negars remaining mouths

Yasushi realised what was going on. Quite a good plan. Currently, both of Yasushi's arms were busy with holding off Negars claws. It left his defences quite under-protected.

But Yasushi had already told Negar. The wind is faster than all.

Combining Kido with his speed, Yasushi not only blocked the attack but opened the distance between them. A small green barrier in front of his stomach took the brunt of the attack. It was a nice little kid, which was a timed barrier which reacted to physical attacks.

Negar wasn't far behind and used his raw speed to catch up to Yasushi. Without his technique, he was at a massive disadvantage. This was the price he'd have to pay for underestimating his opponents.

Negar looked up to Yasushi and saw a being of pure carnage and malice. The blood that covered his eyes created an image. An image he was so familiar with during his reign as a god.

A monster.

Negar felt something behind him. He turned around and saw Hikifune in the air, but it was too late and useless, anyway. The moment he turned, Yasushi would attack. It was a two-pronged attack where his decision didn't matter.

Hikifune had to calculate this just right. She could decapitate him, but that's not she needed. She needed to get a cut to would leave a small bit of skin connecting them. A cut big enough to allow her reiatsu to infect Negar and kill him from the inside out.

She swung her zanpakuto down on one of the heads. The skin ripped, and she pulled back at the last moment. Once the slice was complete, her Zanpakuto glowed a bright pink and began to shrink in size.

It was already over for Negar.

Hikifune's zanpakuto had a lethal effect. If her reiatsu infect an opponent, then it would replicate its self in the body in its opponents much like a bacterium. Once her Reiatsu gained dominance, the body would explode from inside out.

And that's what happened to Negar.

His massive body swelled, and his entire body blew up in a spectacle of blood and organs. Negar's actual body fell to the ground along with everything else.

Yasushi was a bit disappointed, but results are results.

---------------------------

Negar's broken and beaten body lay flat on the sands of Hueco Mundo. His own blood and organs lay around him. So he had lost.

The memories of his family and wives all ran through his head. His entire life was flashing in his head.

It was pitiful. His eyes watered as tears were on the verge of breaking, but he held them back.

His eyes wandered around him. He noticed the Shinigami who had fought him for most of the time.

He was sitting in the sand with the woman next to him. His eyes looked dull and bored while her eyes were filled with life and excitement.

"Yasushi, we should still go exploring after this. Who knows what wonders we'll find here. We found an entire civilisation, who knows what else is waiting for us."

"There are several things out here.." Negar croaked out. His voice was a far cry from before. It was weak and resigned.

"Is that so?" Hikifune asked.

"There's a hollow more powerful than I, the veritable god of Hueco Mundo. My god do I hope he kills the two of you." He laughed.

"There's another hollow as powerful as you?"

Negar didn't answer.

"Even if there was, we wouldn't kill him. The balance of the realms would tip in favour of the soul Society. And it's a crime to do anything that would hurt the balance of the soul society." Yasushi commented.

"Ah, they'd have our heads for that. But it doesn't matter because you're going to die, anyway." Hikifune said.

"So why am I still here? To taunt me?"

"No, because my assistant and I were interested in a few things."

Yasushi was annoyed by the fact he was called an assistant by he kept his wits about him.

"What would you have to ask me?" Negar asked.

"Before the battle, you said that the Soul Society was built upon Genocide and deceit. It just piqued my interest." Hikifune said.

Negar actually had a big laugh about it. He couldn't stop laughing.

"Ah, to live in ignorance. Ignorance is bliss, they say. Information can be so easily suppressed when you live with puppet leaders and a ruler who is a lynchpin, it's to be expected." He said with a smile.

"Lynchpin? Now that's an interesting choice of words." Yasushi said.

It was definitely an interesting choice of words. It implied that it held no genuine power, only being used by others.

"Ignorance is bliss. I could only pray to the gods that I can be there to see your faces when you learn about your history, your roots. Though I'll be glad when you learn it. Those who respect history understand that it should not be repeated. Once you learn of the crimes of your people, I can only hope you see the world in a new light, no. You will. Once you learn about the regression caused by your people, I'll be there, the devil on your shoulder. Laughing, laughing as you cry and plead."

After his small brief speech, he stopped talking. In fact, he stopped breathing altogether. He died instilling a new sense of despair into shinigami. Exactly as a hollow should.

"Jeez, he sounded like a broken record. But all he's done is excite me more." Hikifune said.

He only fueled the fire in Yasushi's interest, too. Puppet leaders and a lynchpin ruler. It gave him goosebumps. But the way Negar spoke also meant that whatever he was talking about is a deep-rooted secret that a scarce number know about.

'I'll just ask Yoruichi about it.'

But what they both didn't know was the true nature of the sin committed by the Soul Society. The limits that haveknows been taken to protect this century-old secret by the Godfather and his companions.

When they found out God is dead, it will unravel all the secrets of this world.
