6 Chapter 06 - Training

I was awakened from my sleep at five in the morning, at my door a middle-aged shinigami informed me of my assignments for the day, plus handed me three standard uniforms with first division insignia, before turning and leaving.

Wearing my uniform, which would need some adjustments later, I go to the cafeteria, I will need energy for what is to come.

After a quick coffee I headed to the practice field, at six o'clock Genshiro arrived for my class, today I would have a class on the theory and basic uses of reiatsu.

Despite Genshiro's dubious appearance, I have to admit he's a good teacher.

It only took a morning of explanation and demonstration and a mere hour and a half of practice to understand how reiatsu worked, if I had known how to use it when I faced that hollow, I would have ended it in a single blow, and the three shinigami would have been alive, on second thought, if I had been involved I wouldn't be here.

Plus, not even six of your names, so it doesn't matter. His efforts will be remembered by me, like that little wild chicken I killed with a stone before cooking for my lunch.

Moving on, Genshiro doesn't seem to believe my learning speed.

Still he's ready for us to move on, and here we go to the fun part, he brought me three books.

The first is about the art of Zanjutso, the art of the sword used by them. The second book is devoted to Hakuda, or unarmed fighting. The third book however left me with bright eyes Kido and Hado Basics for beginners.

It basically means magic, fucking cool though I'm not going to humiliate myself by uttering all those weird incantations, better just learn a few to show off to the girls, and use my Zanpaku-Tõ for real fighting.

For the next two days, I devoted myself almost completely to reading the books. The art of zamjutso, although basic, was a good complement for me, as practically all of my techniques were made for killing.

The art of hakuda still needed to be practiced, but few strikes seemed useful to me. Better test to see, but I won't raise too many expectations.

Kido was very interesting to read, besides his theories helped to deepen my knowledge about reiatsu, besides useful little applications that would help me a lot during my fights if I applied them correctly.

After three days of relative rest I went back to training with Genshiro, today we will go through hakuda.

Practice is really the best way to test something, Genshiro demonstrated the basic moves and I imitated him and so after about two hours of simple training we started a light duel,

At first, I used only the moves Genshiro taught me, and soon I was overwhelmed by him, while adapting to his rhythm I tried to infuse some of my own punches.

My fighting style was created by a master in the art of killing, each person trained in such a technique will try their best to incapacitate or kill their target.

Such moves had some effect on Genshiro, his experience was something else, within seconds he adapted to my fighting style and quickly regained control of the situation.

We ended the day after a few hours of struggle and instructions on how to get better, after a light meal returning to my room.

Unbeknownst to me, I had been here for six months, all the practice with Genshiro helped me in an impressive way, irritating but even though the old man has called himself my master since that day I didn't see him.

Less than a week after mentally complaining about the demon, here he is in the middle of the training ground in broad daylight.

His glare overshadows anything else, blinding all the unsuspecting who look his way. I must say it is an impressive weapon against any enemy. Still, I will never say it out loud.

'' Genshiro, told me about your progress, now I will teach you HoHo, meaning the forms of movement used by us shinigami, the most used art of ho ho is called shumpo, I will personally train you in this art, before that I must say that there are two methods most used in shumpo, the first focuses on increasing the distance between each step, this is what I use, the second focuses on the number of steps you can perform in a moment, this is the most used.''

''I must say, both methods have their pros and cons, but the most important thing is what suits you best and not what others say.''

The old man is a great teacher, he really shines in this area. No pun intended. In less than two hours, I got the hang of the thing, although sometimes I still hit my face in one or another obstacle.

After starting, less, it took me a week, but I managed to master it. Although I am far from being a professional.

Now that I think about it, it's been almost seven months since I saw my beautiful Unohana. I must hurry to my full-body checkup.

I think it's dinner time, at least the food here is pretty good.

My dinner plans were unfortunately interrupted by a serious-faced shinigami.

"The commander requests your immediate presence." With those simple words, without even a good night, he turned and left. My fingers itch, I want to grab my sword and cut some of these arrogant idiots.

Moving on, I don't think this would be a good idea, the old man would probably punish me. And I don't want to delay my visit to the fourth division any longer. Facing the door to the old man's office I can feel two presences inside, their presence always scorching and frightening, and one that slips in and out of existence making it so confused it's almost as if it isn't there.

'' Come in Ryu, I don't have all day for your screwed-up thoughts.'' The old man said it like I was one of those guys who think too much, absurd I think to myself.''

In her office is my bright old master, sitting in one of the chairs with her eyes turned towards me a beautiful dark-skinned lady, her golden eyes with a feline touch and purple hair just highlight her beauty.

Second down, a toned, well-structured body, although that pair of boobs defy logic and certainly gravity. Still, I think it's the first time I feel good being in this place after that night with Unohana's presence of course.
