Chapter 25: Stay

"Move aside! Shreya, go get Sophia and Victoria. Trisha, Sonia, Emilia go to the stream and get water to fill a tub and for drinking. Devin set up a fire and dig a hole in the ground for the water. Move! Faster!" Mother Vicki barked orders to everyone in the group before turning back to Kol.

I rushed to gather the wood for the fire from the temporary stable. I gathered the wood and piled it in a stack. " Fire Bolt!" I yelled as I shot a ball of fire towards the firewood, to my dismay, it failed to light. "Fire breath!" I yelled and took my clenched fists to my mouth, forming a pipe in front of me and blew as hard and long as I could. "Come on! Light the damn wood on fire!" I thought to myself while still blowing as hard as I could.

I finally lighted it after a few tries, I was now breathless and exhausted. "A hole to dig. Why am I supposed to dig a hole?" I questioned loudly. Frustrated and angry at the amount of energy i have wasted trying to get a fire running. "I have to dig a pool. It's to help Kol get better." I took the shield Michael gave me and duplicated 2 copies before strapping it to both arms and clawing my way in the dirt. The 3 girls came back with a few buckets of water. Sonia saw the pitiful sized pit, shaked her head in disappointment. " What is this?" She asked, her voice is clearly upset. She stomped her right feet on the ground and spilt the earth into 2, creating a tub just large enough for Kol.

Trisha and Emilia dumped all the water into the tub before heading back into the tent with Sonia, dissapointment written all over their faces. I was left all alone, kneeling beside my small hole, feeling devastated by the looks on their faces.
