The numbing pain from the grazed wound in my arm threw off my concentration. But the person who fired it no longer surprised me.

Patrick, Mary's brother, was walking towards us, gun aimed towards me. I actually smirked upon his approach.

I clicked my tongue.

"I was going to spare you and your family in memory of your sister."

"Is that your guilt for killing her talking?"

I briefly glanced at Margaux. She didn't lower her gun, but her attention was also on Mary's brother.

I clicked my tongue once again as I eyed the two.

"Now, you see here, this doesn't seem like a fair game," I raised my hands in the air, mockingly surrendering, the blood still dripping from my injured hand.

"There's two of you, gun in hand while I am disarmed and wounded."

Margaux raised her chin, a smirk on her lips as she looked at me, contemplating about something as she cocked her head to the side.
