2 chapter 1

The sun rose on a foggy morning, in the middle of a courtyard and boy with black hair and red eyes, was training his sword play. He was repeating the same moves over and over. "Not fast enough, faster. They cannot notice the blade at all." The boy said. He was well built for his age, very muscular and tall, his sweat made his dark skin glisten. He put down the blade and the picked up an axe. He started another set of completely different moves with duel axes in his hand, his movements this time were not as elegant as when he was using his sword, but it was fiercer and had more a primal urge to it. He swung and swung until he reached a tree. He spun and with a back handed swing he brought the full force of his strength on the tree and sliced right through it.

He wiped himself down with a towel as the tree toppled behind him. That tree was there longer than he could remember, and he was finally able to bring it tumbling down, just like he'd done with all the other 9 trees that were cluttering up his space. He leapt over a stump and walked into his room. Now he could begin renovating his garden into a training area, his sister had already cleared them out by the time they were 12, 2 years after they had started training. He hated that she got to train in spirit power, and he had to train physically. He would be fine if this was how all men trained but it wasn't, his little brother had just started training and he was training spirit power he could tell because he had burnt a tree down last week. The boy got ready after showering and just as he put on his shirt his sister kicked open the door. "Wake up Shin!" she looked at him, but Shin was still busy with combing his hair. "Serine, I always wake up before you and I go to sleep after you, if anything I should be the one waking you up."

"Oh. You had your morning training; physical training is so hard I don't know how you cope with it. I could never do that. Anyway it time to get going, are u ready."

"What do you think I've been doing since I cut down my last tree. I knew you heard it, probably woke up, Kili."

"What you cut down your last tree, congrats. I finished mine 3 years ago, it's nice that you are catching up."

"Shut up, you know I'll beat you in a fight, anyway, let's go."

"You are not going looking like that. We need to go in style, not your martial arts gear and some body armour."

"I need my body armour, and this is comfortable I'm not going to bend over backwards for people I haven't met."

"Just use your spirit power… oh sorry you haven't trained in it."

"You don't need to rub it in. Let's go nobody is going to question us, we are probably going to be in the top 5."

"No, we are definitely going to be in the top 5, Sena is the only person I can think of that's stronger than me."

"Who are you so dressed up for anyway. This is too extravagant even for you." Shin finally stopped combing his hair and tied it back as he looked at her. Her dress was a dark red like her hair and her eyes. She wore a chest plate as the only amour on her, most people wouldn't recognize it as you could only see it, but Shin could always see things imbued with spirit power even if it was consoled it didn't matter what it was.

"I heard Sun would be there, and if Sun is going Alexia will definitely be there. That's why you need to get dressed up."

"Wait Lex is going to be there." Shin paused and looked at himself in the mirror. "Get out my room I need to get ready. Have you seen Master's Gi anywhere? And your dressing up for Sun, you know how he is, he probably not even putting in half the effort you are right. Maybe you should take it easy today."

"Is marital clothing really all you have? And what makes you an expert on Sun Urson, you guys haven't even seen each other in 2 years, people change you know."

"Unlike you, the next matriarch of our clan, I, a bastard child, have nothing but my marital arts taught to me by someone I had to look for with minimal help from father, which was he will pay for the person to teach me." Shin didn't want to talk about Sun anymore. He didn't know how Sun would feel after so long.

"Ok, ok you don't need to gilt me into trying to make you look good."

"You done because I need to get changed."

"I'll be waiting at the door. Hurry up we don't want to be late!"

Shin tipped his bed on its side and moved the carpet underneath. There was a door on the ground leading to a room he built himself as a part of his masters training, he connected it to a series of tunnels that were all the way out in the mountains on the outside of the capital. He went down the stairs and closed the door behind. He slammed a brick on the side and the carpet and bed fixed themselves up. He was the only person that could see here, a normal person would be blind, but he could see because of the many enchantments his master placed on this room everything was glowing to him.

He walked next to 10 pedestals, on nine of them were books that were there for so long that they were covered in dust and on the last one he places a book, these were the training regiments that his master left him before he died. He continued walking and saw a whole gallery of swords, knives, axes, maces, bows, spears, halberds and at the very end two large glaives. One of them was pure red but the very edge was black, it was laying against the wall and in front of it was a small chest. Shin opened it up and there was a tattered, dirty black Gi, he looked at it and remembered the only person to ever cared for him, his master. He smiled and muttered a word under his breath "hainif" a rune appeared in front of the Gi and the tattered edges fixed themselves the dirt rose of off the Gi and dispersed. He looked at the Gi and put it on. He knew very few words of power that his master taught him, but it drained him. He picked up the glaive in front of him the looked to the side. His master's glaive was all black and there was also another chest in front of the glaive, but Shin didn't open it. He was not ready wear that Gi or wield that glaive, he wasn't worthy. He slammed a brick and the entrance opened and he walked out. Once he was done, he covered it up and left.

As he was walking to the entrance, he saw a man clad in black amour as he walked over, Shin and this man were compared every time Shin was outside, Tian walked over "Shin, my son, you'd better hurry Serine grows tired of waiting for you."

"Yes, my lord."

"Call me father when Rena isn't around, you are still my son."

"Yes, father." Shin said as he continued walking "Where are you headed?"

"Some lords and I need to quell a best horde down south be kind to Kili, I know how you guys feel about each other but you two are brothers never forget that. Now hurry." He nodded at Shin as he ran off.

"Serine, where are you going? I want you to teach me some spirit techniques, mother is busy, and father is leaving." A young boy said while pulling at Serine's arm.

"Kili, I need to go Shin and I have an entrance exam to go to."

"But I want to get better." He replied.

"Kili if you want to get better why don't you practice your fire bolt until it gets to the point where you can cast it as easy as your breath, then I'll teach you a tear 1 technique." Serine said sternly, she pulled of his hand and said, "Now if you want to bother someone go bother Shin, I am not arriving late."

"Come now don't send this guy to me, I was speaking with father." Shin said as he grinded to a holt. "Oh Shaan, I am not ready for this I need some sleep." Shin walked into a carriage and sat down next to somebody, but he didn't care who Serine invited to come with her, the moment his head touched the back of the seat he passed out. "Serine he's here and asleep let's go, I thought you didn't want to be late."

"Alexia, over here Sena and Shin are already inside." Serine said as she jumped up and down.

"Shin is here? You should have told me he was coming."

"Father just decided this last night I didn't have much time to inform anyone, but he is asleep so you don't need to worry Sena and I can help you out."
