Chapter 24: Well... My Dad's old Masterpiece

After the sports festival Ryu's Break is now over he is now began some more work he finished Miruko's leg armor and News began to spread about Ryu Muramasa and his masterpieces he created have made a powerful impact on hero society. Miruko Visits him to check on the armor which was finished he taught her how to put on the armor and how to clean them as well. Miruko was happy about her new leg armor and paid him with various stacks of 10, 000 yen for him as well as a small tip for the trouble as she left in a hurry. Ryu counted the money reaching 2,000,000 million Yen and a 50,000 Yen tip for the trouble she caused last time. News began to spread about Miruko's new leg armor made by Ryu with his name written in kanji inside the padding to avoid copyrights and counterfeits as it was deadly and intimidating to imagine getting kicked by that. Ryu who was very busy with many requests he put down his priorities to which hero is important to make and their roles in society.

Muramasa Residence home forge

it was a week off due to the sports festival he saw the news about Ingenium's attack but thanks to the armor he made right before the attack he was fine for now and will return to his duties once more. Ryu had already expected about armors getting damaged and shattered so in preparation he made a spare one just in case. "Mr. Muramasa? Are you home?" the voice of Ingenium from the entrance of his house began to reach Ryu then left his workshop and open the gates for Ingenium with a box with the damaged armor within as they entered the forge Ryu inspected each damage from his armor "hmm... Scratches, dents, cuts, holes, and hacking damages. this will cost you some money remember that this is titanium." he said as Ingenium is feeling bad about the damages also hated when his paycheck is getting more dents due to his hospital bill "Also I have made spare armor same as this one as a backup as soon As the main one is damaged and all also be careful about this if you give it some damages you'll pay for the spare armor's repairs." he said, making Ingenium concerned about his paycheck. As he left with the spare armor he is carrying in the box Ryu had to repair the armor but many heroes began asking for request.

Late afternoon Muramasa Residence home forge

Ryu have finished some heroes request easily somehow and halfway done with edge shot he gave Edge shot his sketch of the armor now he needs to deal with the other gear from caltrops, bo shuriken, shuriken, Kunai, Kusarigama, and the shinobigatana and the new armor as well he finished about half of the request then he calls it a day for now as he was watching TV in his couch then began sorting his inventory in his homeforge from project currently in progress and finished ones until he stumbled across old shelves and old projects he realized it's his father's projects.

Home forge morning

he rummages all of his father's projects to see some old ninja garbs all black and sees this as a big save in his behalf. Since Edgeshot needs new ninja garbs to try out he then begin with finding out the size and comparing it to the measurements of Edgeshots body measurements to make sure they fit.

After comparing the measurements they almost reached the exact measurements for Edgeshot but he needs to extend them a bit and began the other procedures he forges the platings with steel and he have some references in the Internet backing up the Looks. Steel knee pads, steel breastplate, steel arm guards, and the head band and belt have detailed engravings made of bronze which he referenced from other artist made from the Internet. He compares the original costume and his to begin with its too flashy and not functional if he goes into night patrols since he's not a underground hero he went with a functional look with a mic of red to fit his original color and look scheme and added a deep crimson scarf to fit the dark scheme of the costume's stealth theme of a ninja.

He embers a time when his father was alive with him he always help and looking at his skills of making both weapons and armor he can't compare himself to his father. Those were his good times of his youth until he left which was one of his worst decisions in his entire life. In the end he can't change the past but continue on forging his other clients and even hero clients for the entire week off.

UA front gates

Ryu with his spare parts, materials and his other projects he decided to continue in the UA workshops to make it a bit faster until he was stopped by a bunch of reporters and then he realised why they were here to interview not just All Might but him as well. Reporters began to rush towards him but in a nick of time he drove of immediately then reporters then tried to catch-up until Ryu's fellow co-workers which are the teachers are making a way for Ryu to get away from the reporters. He steps on the gas pedal and in max speed he went inside UA and hit the brakes right after and took some breaths to calm himself from the adrenaline rush. Then continues to drive to the workshop and he thought to himself 'welp there goes my quiet and easy life... Shit' he thought then parks his car in the parking lot near the workshop.

UA smithing workshop Morning

After sorting his inventory in the workshop students began pouring in his workshop went to the lockers rooms to change to their smithing attire and went to their respective forges.

"Welcome back students I know many of you are almost done with your projects for those who have finished congratulations for those who have created good pieces and masterpieces of works you can continue with your first projects for those who are unfinished but for those who have finished you will have your next projects"

he said as the students who are finished are preparing themselves for their next project

"Your next project will be one of the new topics that is metal casting" he said as students are paying attention "to discuss about this here is a presentation" he then turns on the TV showing a sideshow about metal casting.

He told his students how it works similar to making a mold of a specific item and with a different material pour inside of a mold to a negative image of the object to create an object. In blacksmithing he show them how to create these molds he show his students a claw hammer he then places in between 2 boxes full of sand he then compressed it as much as he could then he split the boxes and remove the hammer and students see the form of a claw hammer in the sand Ryu then places the two boxes and told his students to make sure they are aligned or else the casting will go wrong. Then he screw the boxes together and grabs a pipe and creates 3 holes for the molten metal to enter. After doing the he grabs his tongs and using those tongs grabbing a crucible with molten metal and pour it into the mold as it began to smoke and students were a bit puzzled about the process until Ryu unscrewed the boxes and began to dismantle it to expose the metal cast hammer and showing it to the students they clapped to the end result.

"But before you would think its done you need to clean the edges to give it that clean look as you can see some of the excess material seeping out of the mold you can easily remove it with our hands and make sure to sand the cast hammer so your new project is to create a metal cast item anything you wanted. " he explained as students are ready to create their project. "Um... Sense can you doo that with 1 box?" one of the students asking " Yes you can it all depends on the item you wanted to cast like a key or anything that is a 2d object but if its 3d you need 2 boxes for that." he said to answer his students question.
