2 First Misson Succeeded

"You damn punk! I'll kill you!"

The big guy roared as he removed the arrow from his ass, rushing forward to Heiner. His eyes were red, killing intent surged, showing expression like a hungry wolf who wanted to eat his prey alive.

'Why a robber called me punk? I am doing a good deed!'

THUD!

THUD!

THUD!

[Ding! You have defeated a robber's boss. The reward is 100 EXP.]

"Boss!!"

The underlying robbers shouted when they saw their boss collapsed after taking arrows. They looked angry more than panic.

'They give EXP?' Heiner shot arrows to all robbers for reserving EXP before they died in the guards' hand but three of them ran to him. He learned from System if he took part in something given EXP, he would get it too.

This was his first to kill a human. He felt bad for it but it was better than getting killed. In fact, he did not like fighting as he lived peacefully with his family. Risking his life was not blacksmith style but the system forced him to fight for life. He would get the death penalty if he failed the mission.

Was it a test? Was it a tempering? Was it the will of smithing god and he could do nothing but to obey? Heiner could not understand the reason behind this quest but it was not time to think about it. He needed to survive. At least it was not all bad for risking his life because he could recover once leveled up.

THUD!

THUD!

Heiner took down one robber with two arrows. The rest came closer and swing their swords fiercely. He dodged and took a wooden spear out of his spatial bracelet, stabbing the closest one. Red blood spilled from his throat, making Heiner's blind spot as it interrupted his eyesight. The following robber took this opportunity, he slashing down with his sharp sword while Heiner failed to respond in time.

"Arghhhh" Heiner cried out loud once his left hand was cut off. Blood spilled like a fountain. He grabbed the robber's waist and threw him to wooden spear on the previous corpse.

THUD!

[Ding! You have defeated a robber. The reward is 20 EXP.]

Heiner ignored the system notification. The situation is not better because two guards on the other side had died. Now They were fighting six versus three. Merchants were in danger one of them might die if guards failed to make enemies busy and they actually failed.

The best he could do was throwing a wooden spear to the closest target. One had fallen but the other two chased after merchants and successfully injured them.

"Damn it! Why these guards can't kill a single one of them?"

If merchants were dead, Heiner would be killed by robbers or the system. He had no choice but tried his luck, gripping three wooden spears in his hand and threw! The spears flew, interrupting finish blow. Merchants took this chance to ran. The robbers took spears out of their body. Although those spears were made of wood, they were sharp enough to leave deep holes on their fresh. The robbers were angrier, the pulled spears out of their wound and chase after the primary target, the merchants.

"S-save us!" An older merchant begged with shaking voice. His face was pale but the other merchant's face was paler. The younger merchant was a middle age man, he was overacting to be a coward.

"Sure."

THUD!

THUD!

[Ding! You have defeated a robber. The reward is 20 EXP.]

[Ding! You have defeated a robber. The reward is 20 EXP.]

...

[Ding! The quest 'Slaying Robbers' accomplished. The reward is 500 EXP.]

[Ding! You have leveled up. The reward is 5 contribution points. System healed all of your injuries.]

The merchants stared at Heiner, observing the change on his body. They were speechless when his injuries disappeared and even shocked when his missing hand popped up from nowhere. It said mages could do something like this, but they were arrogant and never lower their head to merchants. Let aside saving one's life, one could be honored if any mage gave them a hand.

Finally, guards could do their duty and kill enemies on the other side. Heiner almost lost all stamina, but everything finished before he could not endure. At least those guards helped him gain some experience points, then he forgave them to be this late.

'Damn System, why this is an E quest. I almost died. By the way, why I got EXP for these robbers? You said earlier that I need to create weapons or artifacts to gain experience points?'

[You can gain EXP this time because it is a forced quest. That is a reward for justice.]

'Justice my a*s, I almost lost my life!'

"S-sir benefactor, are you a mage?" The older merchant dumbfounded, looking at his lifesaver who covered in blood, only Heiner's red hair was brighter. His black eyes were sharp but beautiful. For his age, this built was normal. So, including the fact that he just recovered his missing hand, convincing this merchant to believe that Heiner was a mage.

"No, I am a blacksmith" By hearing that, merchants look at each other. Their expression disbelief, 'How can this one be a blacksmith? He might want to conceal his identity or he did not know what he had done'

"I am Malte Klaproth, and this is my younger brother, Rolf Klaproth." Malte introduced.

"My name is Heiner Berkel. I am going to Poterenye city."

"Really? We just came from there. Our destination is the village in the northeast, we want to see if we can service villagers. it's bad luck that we encountered a gang of robbers here" Rolf said.

Rolf had a stupid expression because Heiner said nothing, looking at his brother as if he had said something wrong.

"No need to go there. That village did not exist anymore." Heiner looked solemn "Monsters invaded and massacred all human. Only a small number managed to escape."

"So... how about we travel back to Poterenye city together, Sir?" Malte changed the topic immediately. He was not stupid. Heiner was alone here, it meant his family was killed. However, it was not a good idea to go elsewhere after all of this happened.

Rolf drank a potion to heal his wound. He tried to give Malte one but he was ignored. His brother thought it was not the right time to do that in front of his benefactor and Rolf viewed Malte's action as an idiot.

"That's a good idea. I also want to know more about the city" Heiner's response made Malte smiled. He was a good merchant who respected friendship more than benefits. His company's growth increased slowly but stable with a lot of loyal customers. The rumor said he was a rising star in this field

The remaining guards tidied the mess. Everyone had dirty their cloth with blood or dirt but the armor of Raphael Ritter, the guard's captain, was completely clean. What a strange. He also peeked at Heiner several times with unfriendly eyes but no one noticed.

When everything settled. They moved caravan, heading to the city and camped at night. Heiner leaned a lot from Malte. He asked almost everything as this it the first time he went outside his village.

Poterenye city was big enough for five hundred thousand civilians to live peacefully. The strong military force was only second to the capital city, Astaran. With the unbreakable fortress, civilians inside the wall were all safe and sound. Majority race was the human but other few races could live in harmony with human as well.

For occupation, high mages were rarely found, even apprentice mages could not be seen often. That's why they astonished when Heiner's injuries were healed. Mages could do many things in the offense, defense and utility tasks. So, they received the most respect from society.

Next was magic swordman or spearman or whatever, the name of this occupation depended on weapons they used. These warriors could use magic to boost their physical body. The peak experts could utilize aura power in battle, they were on par with mages in term of combat. But the one who unable to use aura power was slightly disadvantaged against mages.

Only the mysterious occupation was Druids who control elementals. There were only a few books written about them. So, people did not know much about them. However, Druids was classified as the first rate occupation, the same level of mages and aura users.

The secondary rate occupation like merchants seemed normal. But the third rate occupation like blacksmiths was just labor. No respect for them. Then, Heiner understood how good Malte was, even he was a blacksmith, Malte always spoke politely to him as his benefactor.

"What do you want to do in Poterenye city, sir?" Malte asked. He was in a white carriage with Heiner. The logo of the company was a banana with a coin. He told Heiner about his company's slogan once, 'Banana company is easy to deal with.' Maybe it's because of his friendly.

"I want to improve my blacksmith skill, craft, sell, buy a blueprint and repeat. This is what I can think of now." Heiner replied what he could. If he said he was going to be the next blacksmith god, it would be a joke of the century.

"Blueprints? That's good! I have a few of them with me!" Malte said with his shining eyes. He looked happy when brought blueprints to Heiner. It was impolite to reject his goodwill. Thus, Heiner agreed to accept them.

This was the first time Heiner got blueprints. The information on the paper was different from what he saw. With the blacksmith god system, he got more detail and estimative stats of each crafting rate. Only one day to reach the city but the blacksmith god candidate was impatient to make this blueprint become a real weapon.
