79 Helping Lervi City

'How can this be happening?' That's what inside the mind of Lervi City's lord, lord Tigun. The enemy suddenly appear near the city, around 13.00. If not thanks to the one of the guard that have good eyes, the main gate wouldn't be closed in time, and the enemy would already inside the city. But that doesn't help the situation at all. The men quickly put on their gear while also in panic.

Fast forward seven hours later, with some miracle the city haven't fallen yet. Lervi is a city originally built by the dwarfs, a city inside the mountain. Only later, after they joined Dowa kingdom, the houses were build outside the mountain, and then the outer wall were build. Now, the outer wall has been breached, and the Lervi soldiers have fall back inside the mountain, and close the entrance.

Tigun then ask the commander how's the situation. "My lord, we've lost a tenth of our men, and all 50 golems were destroyed. But luckily, we manage to bring all the people inside."

"That's a good news. Now, arm them with whatever weapon available. I want all that capable of fighting no matter who or what they are to fight. Women, children, even literal rats, if they can lift a weapon they must fight."

"But sir!"

"Do it! You saw what those things outside were doing. They ate our dead soldiers! You can guess what they will do to the rest of us..." Tigun said these while grabing the commander's collar.

The commander can only answer with a small 'yes sir' before moving.

On the other hand, around 10 km away from the city gate, Oman is looking at the enemy outside the eastern gate. "Hmm... Although the majority of the enemy is inside the city, the larger unit like the golems and olyphant is still outside. What do you think Mindi?"

"Maybe because our allies already lost all of their golems, the enemy deemed it unnecessary to send them."

"Could be. We better hurry and help them. Boateng (call sign for Tsujigiri tank units), you guys on point, followed by Marshall and Gregory (call sign for Stryker ICV units), and then Faye at the back while Cain and Philips stand by for support (call sign for Tardec car units). We'll move out when the aircav arrived. For now, Townsend (call sign for G6 howitzer units), prepare for bombardment."

Following Oman's order, the Tsujigiri tanks then lined themself in a single line, 15 km away from the enemy. Behind the Tsujigiri, the Stryker ICV lined up in two lines. Then, 40% of the Tardec units.

20 km away from the enemy, the G6 howitzers crew is checking the satelite and drone footage to calculate their trajectory. Then, they load the cannon with the HE base bleed rounds. When they finish, they now wait for Oman's order.

"Townsend, fire one marking round."

When the shell hit, it hit a golem, destroying it and killing few men near it. Oman then quickly adjust the fire direction. "FDC, adjust fire! North 100! West 50! Fire for effect!"

All 30 G6 Rhino began to spewing fire. On the receiving end the enemy were blown away no matter what they are, human, uruk-kai, olyphant or even golem.

"Man.. I always forgot how dreadful it can be, when we fully use our weaponary."

"You haven't heard? His majesty are planing to use a deadlier new weapon called an MLRS. It's stand for multiple launch rocket system."

"You mean like the one on those destroyer class ship?"

"Yep. But this one is for ground combat. I heard it can also double as an anti air weapon."

"Blame it to his majesty, he's the one that made all this possible."

After just 6 round Oman gave an order to the G6 unit stop their shelling, because the aircav has arrived.

"Faust! Where the hell have you been!?"

"Sorry bout that. Gwen is trying her new toy."

"The enemy has taken over the city. I will lead in the infantry to the south side of the city and clear it. I request an air cover, and the air trooper to move and clear the north side. How copy?"

"Roger. Lockhart (call sign for Mi-26 helicopter), Strickland (call sign for UH-60 helicopter), find spots for on the north side of the city. Aztec (call sign for AH-6C helicopter) patrol the city for any posible hostile and give the ground crew an air support."

When the attack maneuver began, Faust then began to play the previous playlist. 'Paint it black' by rolling stones then begin to play. After the opening tone, Faust then give the order.

"Alright boys, stay sharp and beware of the civilians. As this song fittingly say, I want this city painted black with those uruk-kai's blood. Show them that hell is coming from the sky, and it's not from a dragons!"

'I see a red door and I want it painted black. No colors anymore, I want them to turn black.'

Not long after Faust end his speach, one of the apache spoted a Regiment (1.000-2.000) of enemy. "Prophet leader, this is Psycho-one-two. Multiple bogey spoted in the open on the north side of the city. Holy shit, there's a lot of em'."

"Copy that Psycho-one-two, engage immediately. Focus fire to large sized enemies first, how copy?"

"Roger that... A herd of Olyphant spoted further north. Psycho-zero-eight, Psycho-one-one, follow my lead, we are eliminating them."

'Maybe then I'll fade away and not have to face the facts. It's not easy facing up, when your whole world is black.'

The three apache head toward the eight oliphant, and then fire missiles toward them.

"Olyphant locked, hellfire missile away."

Back on the eastern side... "Boateng-201, this is Ground leader (Oman). Half of you move to the northern gate and clear it out. The rest of Boateng team will standby here incase of enemy reinforcement."

"This is Boateng-201, copy that Ground leader."

"Marshall, Gregory, Faye, we're entering the city. Shooter discretion, but watch out for civi, we don't know if there're some that survive. For a side note don't cause unnecessary damage, we sure don't want to pay for it. Ho'ah?"

When half the ICV has enter the gate, Oman gave another order. "Faye company, stay at the main road and keep it clear. Cain, Philips move to the south gate and guard them. Shoot any hostile that try to escape, but capture if they surrender."

"Roger ground leader. Cain company roll out!"

"Copy. Philips company move out!"

The battle then continue.
