24 Declaration of War

After the battle in Fei kingdom, King Thomas now feel relieved. One of the thorns in his kingdom has been cleared. The Mars family current head, Sullivan, has been his father close friend and the first who refuse to bow down to him. But king Thomas was unable to do anything to the Mars family because it's strong connection. But because Sullivan also a soldier, he must accept order from his higher up. That's why king Thomas use this and order him to attack Fei kingdom, to find out if Fei kingdom already made allience with the new enemy. Sullivan doesn't come back means, that it's true, and Sullivan doesn't coming back is also a good thing for King Thomas.

But this news also made king Thomas worry. That means not only he have a new enemy, He also become the enemy of all other kingdom in this continent. He then order his generals and ministers to strengthen his army, what ever it takes, like developing new weaponary, and doubling his new dragons force training. He also use forced conscription to replace his dead soldiers. After a month some of his minister manage to develop new weapon for him. The first automatic crossbow and automatic anti air ballista.

The new crossbow are capable to shoot one bolt persecond, with eight bolts in one magazine before they need to reload. While the new ballista are capable to shoot two bolts persecond repeatedly as long they keep feeding bolts to it. But both have a downside. The crossbow bolts need to be reloaded one bolt at a time. While the ballista have tendencies to jammed.

While king Thomas watch the weapons trial suddenly he saw five dark figure in the sky. He then remember the thing that drop Brutu. He quickly order his men to shoot it down. But with the airplane high altitude, there is no way to hit it, even with the new weapons. Then all five airplane droping off letters all over the city. King Thomas then order his men to get him the letter, while he's returning back to the castle.

After a while one of his men give him the letter, apparently all of the letter contents are the same. It's said "We are the Eldia Kingdom, and with this announcement we are declaring war with Seren Kingdom. We have no wish for colleteral damage to civilians live. That is why we recommend the civilians to evacuate, out of the city. We will begin our attack in the next seven days. If you are surrendering, do things according to the picture on the backside of this letter."

Thomas then turn the letter he saw a picture of someone kneeling down, with weapon in front of him, and both hands on top of his head. He then turn the letter back and continue reading. "This part is for King Thomas. We recommend you to surrender. If you do surrendering, go to one of your border post and raise a white flag there. We do not kill nor enslave the one that surrender. You have five days to decide. If no white flag raised in one of the border post, we will take that as sign of hostility."

Reading this make King Thomas smile. He thought, the enemy must be an idiot. To tell the enemy when they are about to attacking, is just plain stupidity. Seven days are enough to make all kind of traps. So in respond to this he order his men to begin making traps and other necessary equipments.

With his order his men then starting to build traps for the 'enemy' attack. On the border posts, they begin with reinforcing their anti air, in respond to the enemy flying mounts. They also build spike traps for enemy infantry, inside the woods and infront of the defensive wall.

On the capital, they do the same like on the border post. The King also forcefully conscript all of his avaliable citizen. From young to old, anyone that capable to raise a sword will have to fight. He also order the slave merchant to give their slave as an extra soldier.

In just three days he almost doubled his army to 450.000. But even so, some of them are not combat ready yet, like farmer or tailor etc. This kind of people were given a three to four meter long spear. This kind of weapon are best used to hinder, or with luck destroy a cavalry. This weapon is only need one training move, stabbing. The soldier will only need to point the spear at the enemy cavalry and stab at the right moment. With it's long length, the cavalier won't be able to reach the spearmen, While the spearmen will have easy target.

In the dragon stables, the dragon riders also doing everything they can. Using commander Brutu's information about the enemy flying mount, they're practicing to attack the people inside it. Either using the long lance, or shoot an arrow at them. But little the Seren kingdom know, every preparation, training, trap making, etc, are all being watch by Eldia.
