7 Chapter 7

"How far away is the capital!" Kai exclaimed while looking up to the sun causing blistering heat. "According to this map it's 5 miles away, which will take about 2 and a half hours" Spane said while looking in the sack Kai had on his back. He swivelled, pulling the bag away from Spanes hand that had just found a piece of bread. "oh no you don't, that's for later" he told her with a grin. Spane became annoyed and tripped Kai up with her water magic. The piece of bread flew from the sack and she caught it while landing with a thud. But it didn't fais Spane and she crammed the food in her mouth like a chipmunk. Kai looked at her in astonishment and laughed while picking himself up off the ground and then helped Spane up. Two hours past and they could see the capital under the magnificent light of the sun that was nearly boiling their blood. "Finally, it took long enough" he said in a happy tone. Spane nodded and carried on while drinking the last drop of water they had. "if we hurry we can get some more water quicker" she said while winking at Kai, throwing the empty water glass at him. He dropped it and lifted Spane up on his back and burst into a run towards the Capital. She laughed and threw her hands in the air with a huge smile. They were soon at the gate, but there was a huge line in front of the gate. Spane jumped off his back and asked one of the people in the queue what's happening. "the guards are inspecting everyone for any banned items like magical artefacts or other things used by terrorists" the person said while walking up to the guards to get checked. She went back to Kai and explained how it will take a while. "Hault! we need to search you" one of the guards said taking the rucksack of Kai. "looks like you two ran away from home, am I correct?" Kai nodded and the guard laughed saying "You remind me of myself when I was younger, go on in". The gate opened and Spane said "thank You" and locked arms with Kai. "who were we supposed to look for again?" he said in confusion. "He was called Tyler I think, and he probably owns a shop around here" Spane replied and started walking into a blacksmiths to ask questions. Kai rushed in after her in case something were to happen. The shop was filled with swords, axes, spears and other weapons. The floor was a little damp and the lighting was dim but the light reflected of polished silver armour making it a bit brighter. Then a man came through a door at the back of the shop. He had ginger hair and a small rough beard, a scar was on his face as well running across his nose. His body was full of muscle and he wore a brown shirt with ripped sleeves, and shorts that went down to his knees. "Hello, what do you two brats want" the man said with a soft but sturn voice; he looked at Spane and Kai and raised an eyebrow. "well are you two gonna answer or not, I've got work to do" he exclaimed with impatience.
