9 CHAPTER 09 : (NOT) A PLAYBOY

Aiden's POV

"Are coming to the prom later?", some girls asked as I walked past them, "Who will you bring, Aiden?"

"I'm coming with the boys, cutie, why? Do you want me to ask you out?", I smirked as I came closer to them.

They let out a small giggle with a smug smile plastered on her face, "I do if you insisted", the curly blonde haired girl gave her a playful smile.

"Sorry, you're not my type, later", I smirked as I left them, dumbfounded.

The shifted expression of theirs was truly satisfying. They just never understand that there's a line that couldn't be crossed.

"Pathetic", I mumbled as I walked out of the university.

I immediately looked at my phone when it rang.

'My dearest brother, please get me a cup of coffee on your way back, love Noel xoxo'

"Gross", I was going to turn my phone off when it rang abruptly, showing that dumb head's name on the screen. By the time I swept the green button to the right, I talked right away, "I'm not going to get you any coffee you dumb—"

"Oh well, you know, the laptop that you asked me to repair that other day", he said, I could sense something is off, "I found something interesting in it"

I stopped right in front of my car, "What are you trying to say?"

"Hmm...nasty guy", Noel mocked, "You know, if Mr Darcelle knew about this, well you may write the rest of the storyline", he chuckled, "You know my favourite coffee, mate, see you at your house!", with that he ended the call.

I groaned as I kept my phone back in my pocket and walked straight to the nearest cafe. 'I swear I'm going to make him experiencing the worst day of his life', I cursed inside my mind.

I walked a few blocks until I found a certain cafe, "Lottie's Cafe", I mumbled out loud. I had never gone to this cafe, is this brand-new?

It's on the main road, not so far from either the university or the residences. It's pretty strategic I think. I looked at the glass door, the 'opened' sign was still up. Through the door, I saw two girls were bickering about something. Using my left hand, I pushed the door as the bell rang, but those two chicks were still unaware.

"Plus the playboy of our university, Aiden Axton Darcelle", the girl with straight dark blue hair seemed to be explaining things.

"I never knew that I was known as the playboy", I popped in as soon as I heard my name being called.

The other girl with pretty wavy black hair blabbered, "We are closed!"

"The 'closed' sign wasn't there, tho", I pointed at the entrance door where the 'opened' sign was still displayed.

She looked in the direction that I pointed at and made her way there, probably to change the sign, when another girl that I assumed as her friend abruptly exclaimed, "For the sake of my heart, Aiden Axton Darcelle"

What's with her reaction? Well, not gonna lie, but I do have that little popularity around the university, though I guess not in a good way.

"It's weird to hear my full name being called, but yes that's me", I gave her a playful smirk, like usual, assuming that she probably is one of my fans.

She still covered her mouth using both of her hands, with admiring eyes that showed a little bit of curiosity, telling me that this is such an unexpected situation—as if I would be the last person that would be seen in this small cafe. Unlike the other one who walked back closer to us, with a grumpy expression plastered on her face. She certainly didn't wish any visitor at this hour.

I took a quick glance at my wrist, looking at the watch that was showing at half-past five. It's still pretty early for a cafe to close unless she got other things to do during this hour.

"I'm sorry, it's supposed to be closed a few minutes ago, but since you've entered, I would take your order, but you can't dine in since I got a class to attend", that black-haired girl said as she walked up to the counter.

Ah! She's a student, "No problem, I'm actually taking it home", I gave her friend a small smile before walking up to the counter, leaving her still speechless, "I would like to have a Caramel Frappuccino, grande"

"Anything else?", she asked as she typed on the cash register.

I looked beside the counter but none of the cakes nor any bread was displayed in it, "I'm craving for something sweet, but I can't seem to find any sweets in here"

"Ah, it was all sold out, I didn't make a lot since I always serve brand-new pastries every day", she looked at me while explained, then she moved her gaze at the hanged board behind her, "If you want, we have some sweet drinks"

"Well...", I ran my fingers through my hair and leant forward a bit, "I'm not really into drinks, but I'm really interested in you"

She was taken aback but it didn't bother her that much, "So, it costs—"

"That's the university playboy for you", the dark blue-haired girl, the friend of her, suddenly said as I gave my money, "But, that was hot, wasn't it, Lotie?", this is the reaction that I should get whenever I flirt with someone, and Lotie? Is she probably...

She let out a small hummed, "I supposed", then carried on making the coffee.

'Interesting', I thought.

"I heard that a lot", I said.

"You sure do", her friend said, "I'm Chloe, Accounting Department, second-year", her friend introduced, "And this is Charlotte, Management Department, second-year also"

"You don't have to tell him everything", that Charlotte girl scolded as she turned on the blender.

"Oh, I see that you are the one that Noel has been talking about all the time", I blurted out, that's why this cafe's name seemed familiar.

"Wait, you guys are gossiping about Lotie? Woah, your luck girl!"

"I just think that he is really excited to have a new friend"

As soon as Charlotte took out a plastic cup, she poured the drink in carefully and immediately decorated it with whipped cream before close it, "We've just met like three or four days ago, so we basically are still stranger"

She put the frappuccino in a paper bag then handed it to me, "Just like what Leon had said", I took the bag and started to walked away as she thanked me.

I gave both of them a small smile. So, that's why that dumby loves to talk about her, she's quite a beauty, though.

"Right, by the way", I stopped walking as I touched the glass door, "I'm not dating in the meantime so I don't know why's everyone labelling me as a playboy, I hope you two didn't mistake me as a bad guy, though I do love to flirt", I turned around and looked at them, giving out my usual smirk, "I think we will be meeting each other pretty often in the future", with that I left.

Charlotte's POV

What a weird guy if I may say.

"Oh my God, Lotie, you got four splendid human beings around you!", Chloe squealed, "The God of Fortune must be on your side for the meantime"

"Cut the talk, I prefer my good fortune to be used for the upcoming examination", I said as I took my books and bags, also making sure that everything had been turned off.

"Right! It's better to use it during those days", she finally came to her sense. We laughed and walked out together, going straight to the university.

Little did I know that the God of Fortune was originally never by my side.
