7 CHAPTER 07 : A PART OF CHARLOTTE’S DAILY

Charlotte's POV

I slowly opened my eyes as the alarm's beeping, showing the time of five. Clicking it off, I moved around slowly and lazily, trying to sit up in order to prevent from going back to sleep.

I slid open the curtain that was by my bed, wanting to let some lights in when the sun rose. Thanks to it, this 200 square feet studio room felt a little spacious.

From the entrance door, on the right side was set a small kitchen, and on the opposite was the small bathroom. Right next to the bathroom, I set up a small table for me to do my stuff. The window was facing the entrance and I had my bed set horizontally there. Then next to the kitchen, I had a full-length mirror with a clothes rack beside it. A small simple room that's comfy enough to be lived in, and with a handsome price of course.

Living alone was a burden itself. Thinking about the maintenance and the rent bill that should be paid already gave me some headaches, plus the college fee and your daily needs. All of them needed money. Indeed, without money, life is never easy.

I went to the kitchen and took a glass, pouring some water. Your body needs to be hydrated once you are awake. Walking towards a small fridge, I bent a little and opened the fridge door, getting a slice of cheese and an egg. I heated the pan then smeared it with butter, then put two slices of bread on it. I cracked the egg and poured it on the other pan. I flipped the bread as I waited for the egg.

It showed at half past five when I covered the Sunnyside with cheese and bread. The breakfast was done as I took a cup of coffee that was leftover from the previous night. I set them on the table as I watched outside from the window.

The sun must have shown a little bit part of herself by this time.

If only the building in front wasn't standing in its way, I might be able to see the sunrise. If only...I live in a higher place...

Or, should I just move to Altanitis—the highland of Laginia. The view there must be very exquisite with a countryside theme house. But, the coast view is as amazing as the highland as well, the sunset is the best and enjoying it with coconut will be a blast!

Both places are amazing...isn't it funny that in my 22 years of living, never have I seen those places first hand. Going there after a long tiring week will be such a great opportunity to relieve the stress. Especially, when you went there and spent your time with your loved ones, like...a family.

Family...

My only family is just the kids and the staff from the orphanage. They raised me well with love and kindness, so my childhood memories are filled with happiness and warmth. Thanks to them, I have no unpleasant memories at all. Instead of the fact that I lost the memory of my mother.

If I was four when she passed away, I might at least remember her face. But, the fact that it completely vanished from my mind and my life just sometimes intrigued me.

How does she look like?

What kind of person is she?

What did she do in her life?

Why did she pass away?

Where was she buried?

What kind of man was my father?

Those questions will always walk around in my brain as I haven't gotten any answers to them. The staff in the orphanage seemed to don't have any idea about this whenever I brought them up. The sole key to knowing the reason is the lady that brought me to the orphanage.

But, never have I known who that woman is, or where she could be even by now.

My busy mind was interrupted by a sudden light that shone through my window. The sun has shown herself I think.

As the clockwise pointed at 5:43, I was quickly savouring my soon-to-be cold toast and taking a sip on my coffee, trying to have them done in ten minutes. It was around six when I was tying my shoes and went out with a towel and a bottle of water, not forgetting my phone. A small run for ten minutes is enough to be concluded as working out...that's what I thought.

I started running as soon as my door was locked. Going straight down from the slightly rusty stairs and out from the building to Roxlin Park—where most people exercise there in the morning.

"Good morning, Mrs Hedwick.", I greeted a granny that was walking with a white fluffy dog. I slowed down as I caught up to her.

"Good morning, dear", Mrs Hedwick gave out a warm smile.

I squatted down to meet the fluffy ball as I held her up, "Good morning to you, too, Snowy"

She woofed at me as if she's saying hello.

I held her back down and stood up, walking backwards, "Do you like the coffee beans, Mrs Hedwick?"

"My dear, Lotie, my husband undoubtedly loves it, he thanked you for giving us the best quality beans, it smells absolutely amazing, he was wondering where you got those beans"

"I have my way, Mrs Hedwick, I would gladly give it to you and Mr Hedwick again when I got it.", I smiled, secretly thanking uncle Timmy for the beans, "Just think of them as a thank you gifts for caring for me since I moved here"

Mr And Mrs Hedwick are an old couple that lived right under my room. Theirs was on the first floor whilst mine was on the second. They have been helping and bringing me out for a walk years ago when I had just moved here. Mr Hedwick was a barista and Mrs Hedwick was a baker, she sometimes teaches me how to bake a cake. They said that they met at a coffee shop where Mr Hedwick used to work at.

And it was nearly sixty years ago as they said. Their kids are all out of town and they surely lived happily despite living in a pretty small place. They said that it doesn't matter as long as they are together. What a couple goals are they;

"You don't need to, dear, we are already grateful that you want to keep these old man and woman company"

"I should be the—", my words were stopped when I felt my back collided with someone else's.

Turning around my body and apologized quickly, "I am so sorry", I looked up at the person and saw an unfamiliar face.

Shinning blue eyes with double eyelid, pointed nose, small lips, and sharp jawline. Having his black hair styled down and a tall proportioned body with a blue sweatshirt and a pair of white sweatpants with white sneakers.

This guy is hot.

He looked at me with sweat sliding down from the right side of his face and flashed a smile as he jogged away to an elite residence.

That smile was charming.

"My dear Lotie, are you okay?"

"Huh? Oh, I'm fine, by the way", I had my gaze fixed back to the guy that had just left a moment ago.

"I guess he lives in that Highwest Residence, he might come from a fine family", Mrs Hedwick said as Snowy woofed, "I think Snowy said that he's such gorgeous man, isn't he?", Snowy gave her another woof.

"Indeed"

Never had I thought that this was where it all started.
