4 CHAPTER 04 : SPLIT PERSONALITY?

Third person's POV

"Lotie!!"

The voice echoed through the hallway, stopping some people to stare at the voice owner, not to mention, Charlotte as well that was standing by the bulletin board with hands holding some books and a tote bag hanging on her right shoulder.

"Lotie! Lotie! Lotie! You can't believe this!", Chloe squealing, "Christmas night prom!"

"I was looking at it just before your voice filling all through the hallway, my dear Chloe", Charlotte pointed at the poster that was pinned on the bulletin board.

Looking at the hallway of the old building immediately reminding you of Hogwarts. Its sophisticated design with a little antique touch showed that the building had stood for pretty much long time ago. After some renovations, it did look more modern-like and much brighter.

"So you're going?"

"Pass"

"Aww, not again!", Chloe whined.

"I'll try to make time for the next one"

"You always say that!", Chloe scolded, "Remember the previous party? You said that you'd come yet you're found working on a public library"

"Well, the lady asked me for some help and did offer me a good price, plus I need more money", Charlotte excused.

"But then, on the other previous event, you also didn't come because you said you were sick yet you were at the flower shop from dusk till dawn, gladly Aunt Mary told me or I might have gone to the police station"

"Ugh, Aunt Mary, I knew it!"

"Also, last year night prom, you said you'd attend but then you went missing the whole day again", Chloe had an unbelievable expression on her face, "Where did you even go that day?"

"I might be studying for exams"

"Really? But, that's when our mid-term had just finished"

"Then I might be somewhere else, making money", Charlotte's trying to recall the memory.

"As expected!", Chloe held Charlotte's right arm and pulled her away, "I'm going to keep my eyes on you for a few days before the party"

"Now, we should get you a dress and I'll make sure that you won't escape or else you might not be able to be contacted as if you're swallowed by the earth, just like then", Chloe rambled, "I won't let you leaving me alone again this time!"

Being held and lectured by her best friend, Charlotte walked unwillingly with her mind working hard to find any excuses that will fit for this time.

'Should I call Uncle Timmy for jobs this time?', she thought.

In a dark small room filled with old chairs and tables. A male was sat on a wooden chair tied up unconsciously. The lamp right above his head was the only source of light, flashing a bright light straight onto him, though it didn't make it less creepy.

"He took a pretty long time to wake up, huh?", the semi-long blonde hair guy, Aiden, bent a little to see his face, "You didn't make him dead, did you?"

"He passed out by himself, not me doing it"

"But, you did beat him up before you brought him here, Leon"

Leon didn't respond. Indeed, he did give out a punch when he tried to run away. But, he never knew that a punch could make him unconscious.

Another guy that was sitting right in front of the unconscious male was kept silent, gazing straight into him as if he's ready to eat the male whenever he regained his consciousness.

"Ugh, this is making me sick, I'm out for some fresh air", Aiden went toward the door, "Call me when he's awake, you know that I love torture sessions", with a smirk he left.

"That little—"

"Where's Noel?"

Leon immediately diverted his gaze towards the male that had been quiet since the beginning, "Doing his job"

Without breaking his gaze from the motionless male, he spoke, "He's been doing really well, isn't he?", and a smirk was drawn on his face.

"What is that? Dissociative identity disorder?"

Charlotte mumbled while fixing her gaze straight at the person who's sitting by the window of her cafe, typing down his laptop.

Black hair that was seemed to be as smooth as silk, pointed nose, and board shoulder in his casual clothes with a slightly brighter colour.

It was the rude guy that came to her cafe just a few days ago!

But what seemed to confuse her was his personality that changed a hundred and eighty degrees.

—A few minutes before

Charlotte sighed while looking at her phone, "I should spend a lot just for a rental dress?! I'd rather go help Uncle Timmy on his farm than spending my time on useless things", Charlotte grumbled, "Should check on the online shop or else Chloe's not going to talk to me for months just because I didn't go with her this time... But—"

The cafe's doorbell rang, meaning a customer was coming, so Charlotte immediately put her phone back and greeted.

"Welcome, what would you like to have today..", Charlotte looked at the male that was walking up toward her, "Oh, you!"

The male gave her a confused expression, "You know me?"

Taken back by his question, Charlotte tried to explain, "You were that rud— I mean that guy from before right? Last week, I haven't served you your orders", she said, "I would give out your orders now or else would you like a refund?"

His facial expression seemed perplexed but soon gave out his smile, "I guess you have mistaken me with someone else, Miss", dimples could be seen craved on both of his cheeks, "I did come here a few times, but I didn't come here last week", he recalled, "I went for a study group that day"

Charlotte seemed extremely lost, "But, I'm pretty sure that the guy looked just like you", she mumbled.

The guy chuckled, "You looked young but already have a weak memory, huh?"

'What an offensive compliment?!', Charlotte thought, trying to smile.

"But, you looked lovely, Miss", he smirked, "I'm Noel, third year of Information Technology Department in Harbinger University, people did tell me that I have such a nice face, but I was never told that it's a common face"

"What a confident person you are", Charlotte (forced) a giggle, trying to be kind.

"Indeed, you should live confidently", Noel gave his goofy smile, "What's yours?"

"Charlotte, Management Department, Harbinger University, second year"

"Oh, we're in the same university, but in different buildings", he shook Charlotte's hand, "So, aren't you going to take my order?'

"Oh right!"

—Back to the present

"This is really weird", Charlotte leaned on the counter, "I'm absolutely sure that he was the guy that came last week"

'Yet, they looked like two different people, today he's kind of friendlier—or a little bit over..', her thought said.

Charlotte's still trying to figure out whether it's because of his mental state or they're just not the same person while Noel's busily typing on his laptop.
