62 The bet

Silvya Rouge gasped when she saw Lucas speak. She could see the various emotions clearly on his face while he was speaking. She stood there speechless. She didn't know what to say... But after a while. When her emotions had settled. She thought rationally again, " Your people were slaves...? Don't lie to me. Unless you telling me that you are actually a beastman. If not then you couldn't have been made a slave. In the history of all humankind. Humans have never made slaves of other humans. So you must be lying. And you are extremely good at it. Your story almost had me believing it. Despite all evidence saying that you are lying. You definitely have Kingly qualities to sway someone like that. But they didn't work on me. I am royalty after all. I've experienced this from my dad a lot so I am less likely to fall for your garbage. So just admit you have fallen for me. And let's get over with this."

When Lucas realized he been talking about the issues of his previous world he put his head on his forehead. Of course, she wouldn't know. She isn't from Earth. But Lucas was not going to lie to her and say he is interested in her. But luckily he didn't have to. As to serve as a conversation changer. The rest of the people that made a bet with Lucas started walking to him. After they collected their stuff and stored them in their storage rings. Once they were there, they gulped a mouthful of air and said, " We are ready."

At that moment Brutus Maximus came up to them. He knew something was going down and being the person he is. He was not going to miss out.

Lucas looked at the group of people and then said, " I guess it's time. Let's go find a secluded place. Unless you want to do it in front of everyone else? Oh, that is for everyone it is relevant too. The guy who must walk around the campus naked must still do that. And if people see you, that is on you. Yura Ironswerth. You can eat the dung of the livestock secretly. But you will have to tell Ivys Vinnay what you must in front of everyone. That will be when we have our secluded lecture... So everyone left the reception and walked to the animal farm. It was quite far away. It was a 10-minute walk. Lucas could have run and been there much faster. The guy cringed when he heard Lucas speak. He didn't want to. But he knew he had to. If he didn't do it soon the contract would come into play. So he got down on all fours and began eating the grass. Once he began everyone had their hands on their mouths. It was a shocking sight that one wouldn't see. It was downright demeaning. But the guy had no choice but to fulfil the bet he himself made. The only person was relishing in the grass eaters misfortune was Brutus Maximus. As he laughed. He was loving every moment of this.

The guy eating the grass thought this couldn't get any worse. But at least only a few people were watching. And if they claim afterwards that he was eating grass. He would refute the accusations. Saying they are ganging up on him. That was his plan but suddenly rumbling could be heard from afar. The guy on the ground was on his knees on the ground so not only did he hear it. He felt. As time passed it became louder and louder. Once it was close enough it was clear that it was a wave of people coming this way. When Brutus saw them coming this way he revealed a diabolical smile. For it was he who called the people to come and watch. There was no way he was going to let this stay small and secluded. He wanted everyone to see this. This way he could relish in this even when it was over. Because he would just look at the participants and their anger and shame would feed his soul. Whatever part still existed.

On all fours, the guy still bit the grass as he was eating. With tears streaming down his eyes. His reputation was down in the drain now. How would people take him seriously now?

Lucas wasn't too thrilled with this development. He didn't want to be the cause of someone's self suicide. But it was out of his hands. They signed the contract. So whether he wanted to change it or not, it was not up to him. Even Silvya Rouge was still technically his slave. But he was never going to treat her like one. Or refer to her as one for the week she was one. This way no mental bondages would occur.

Then Lucas called Yura Ironswerth and said, " You must go do your part. Rather now than later. Because when you go, you will take a portion of the crowd. This way you won't have everyone looking at you in your most embarrassing moment."

Yura Ironswerth glared at Lucas and then swore at him as he left to go the animals. A portion of the crowd went with him. Brutus Maximus went with him. He had already seen the other guy eating grass. Now he wanted a new experience.

Once that was settled Lucas looked at the next guy and said, " I guess it's your turn to strip and walk around the academy naked."

The guy was furious as Lucas spoke. As if it was his fault. But he complied and slowly and hesitantly undressed. Then off he went jumping on one leg then the other while clapping his hands.

Lucas revealed a light chuckle. Despite the gravity of the situation, he couldn't deny the sight was quite funny. Especially because the dancing he was doing could only be seen as a mess.

Then Lucas looked at the next person, crossed himself like the Catholics do in his previous world and said, " You are lucky in the sense that no one else will be able to see you do what you have to do. I have no idea how you are going to get an audience with the King. But yeah it is what is."

Then the guy walked away to go fulfil his obligation. He had to demand to the King that he wants his wife. If he came out of that situation with his head intact it would be a miracle. Hence why Lucas crossed himself.

Then Lucas looked at the two remaining people. It was Silvya Rouge and the other person. This person was Jastin Wells. They didn't have a task. They were just strictly Lucas's lackeys. As such until Lucas asked for something they would have to remain idle at his side.

Once everything was sorted Lucas decided to go the cafeteria. He wanted to eat something. So he left the crowd that was laughing at the others fulfilling their contracts. Once Lucas and his lackeys reached the training area they went straight to the cafeteria. Lucas went to find a seat. Silvya Rouge came with him. While Jastin Wells went to go and order lunch for them. Once Lucas was seated. Silvya Rouge glared at him.

" Chill. We in a public area. What can I do to you?"

" So you do want to do something to me?"

" Honestly, what is your problem. When we were fighting I didn't sense a complete idiot. In fact, you were smart enough to notice just how far out of your depths you were. As such you resigned. So with that. I am finding it hard to understand how such a brain. Can formulate the notion that all men are interested in you."

" Well first answer this question."

" Okay. Fire away."

" Be honest. Do you think I'm attractive."

" Just answer the questions."

" Okay."

At this moment Jastin Wells came there with their food. And next to him was a familiar girl. It was Tamara Everly.

Then Lucas said, " Yes I do know her. She was the first person I formally met here at Reckwerth."

Tamara Everly smiled at Lucas and then said, " Hey... Congratulations on coming first. See I knew you would be first. But you surprised me. Your control is out of this world. Even I can't cast advanced magic yet, and I'm a second year. I knew you had that special something."

Lucas smiled and then said, " I can't cast the magic either. I can only set it up..."

" Oh, I see. Well, I can't even set it up. But got to go. I just came to say hello. I am still on shift. You should pop around when you have time."

" Will definitely do that."

With that, Tamara Everly walked away. Then Justin Wells said, " Wow! She is hot. How did you get her to even talk to you? Is she also under a contract."

" Haha! No man. I helped her out a bit and then she wanted to get to know me all on her own."

" Ooooh. And do you have any intention of doing something about it."

" Nope. Not at all."

" So she is fair game?"

" Don't go getting angry when she doesn't care about you anymore." These words that came from Jastin Wells were not baseless. He was a very attractive man. He had long black hair that laid above his well-defined shoulders. He had a square face and a cleft chin. His eyes were blue. Jastin was a relatively tall guy. He was about 183cm (6ft). Because of these features. Jastin was a hit with the girls. He didn't even need to try. But he too was quite full of himself because of it.

" I won't," Lucas said.

Then Silvya Rouge asked Lucas, " Is that your type? She has a lot more meat than I do."

" She is attractive but not my type."

" Really...? What if I told you that you had a shot with her. If you play your cards right you could get her."

" Still don't care."

" Are you gay?"

" Wow. Where did that come from?"

After Lucas had finished speaking it was quiet. And it wasn't because the food was good. But because it was awkward. Once they had finished eating. Silya Rouge and Jastin Wells left. On their way to their dorms. Jastin asked Silvya Rouge, " Why did you have to ask him that?"

" I had to know. Like he showed no interest in me. And then that other girl. He had to be homosexual."

" Turns out you are just not that attractive to him. But I find you attractive. Nudge nudge wink wink."

" Well, you might as well be gay. Because you are getting nowhere."

" And him?"

" You heard him he isn't even in the game."

Once Lucas was done eating he went to the training area and did his training. Once he was done it was dark outside. So he went to the dorm. He was excited. Because now that his student card said number 1. He would no longer be sleeping in that room with the other two. He wanted to think about his new dorm room and what it would look like. But the last time he did that. He died moments later so he decided against it. Once he got to the dorm he saw that the whole place was under construction. All the lights were off too. Only the outside lights where they were working.

Then an official spotted Lucas and said, "You are not sleeping here anymore. They are upgrading the place so all the students. Are currently in the guest dorm. This is one of the most luxurious dorms in Reckwerth. This is all happening because you are King of The First Years. Apparently, some big shot from the military was here to see you. But when he saw the place he got angry and stormed into Ivys Vinnay's place, demanding that she up the standard. Suitable for the King of The First Years. So come with me I will guide you to the guest dorms. You will be staying here for a few days until the dorms are done."

Lucas nodded his head saying he understood and then followed the official to the guest dorms. Once he walked inside, everyone was waiting for him. They all applauded when they saw him. Lucas was confused. Because they had already congratulated him last night. And then again in the hall today. Then the main official seeing Lucas's puzzled look said, "We are congratulating you because it's because of you our dorms is being upgraded. You are a blessing to all the E rankers."

When Lucas understood the reason he simply smiled and acknowledged their praises. But honestly. He was getting tired of all the praising.

When everything was done. They ate dinner and then Lucas went to his room. It was magnificent. With gold decorations everywhere. Lucas stayed on the topmost floor. Lucas didn't marvel in the sight of the room. Instead, he tucked himself in bed and then went to sleep. Tomorrow he would fix everything system wise.
