Chapter 4

About 3km away from Tiulyu we can see a young man counting some bodies while behind him are about 20 bandits that are knocked out and locked with some magic chains.

" Dammit, i accidentally killed seven... I need to stop using the Eternal sword when doing capturing mission." Says Aevus with an annoyed tone.

" At least i got all of them, even if some of them are dead." Mutters Aevus while flying towards Tiulyu.

" Mayor i captured most of the bandits they are in that direction about 3km away." Says Aevus to a fat man.

" Did you saw <most> young man?" Says the fat mayor.

" Yes, unfortunately, i used a very powerful attack and accidentally killed 7 of them, but the rest are locked with chains waiting to go to the prison."

The fat man looked at Aevus with a look on his face like he is saying' You serious'.

" Fine, thank you Aevus for dealing with those bandits, they were a real pain in my butt."

" Even if i didn't deal with them, some other magic knight would have been sent to deal with them."

" Indeed, but i still have to thank you." Says the fat mayor while bowing a little.

" Very well now that i have finished with this i should go to Kikka the Magic Knights Entrance Exam are going to begin in one week"

" Good luck Aevus, even though you don't need it," says the mayor.

" Thank you, i am going to leave now take care." Says Aevus while waving his hand.

2 DAYS LATER

'I finally reached Kikka' Thought to himself Aevus while landing on the ground outside of Kikka.

' The registration will start on the same day as the exam' Thinks Aevus,

' I should go and stay in an inn while i wait.'

While looking for an inn, Aevus is also looking around the city since this is the first time coming here.

' This is a huge city, it has paved roads and many large stone-based houses, from what i heard it also has one of the best markets in the entire kingdom.'

After walking for about 3 minutes, Aevus spots a nice inn that has a lot of people coming in and out.

' I should probably go there'

When Aevus enters the inn he spots a middle-aged woman serving some drinks, so he decides to go to her and ask her for a room.

" Excuse me, i would like a room," Says Aevus in a neutral tone.

" It will cost 35 yul each night plus 10 yul for breakfast."

" Very well i want to stay here for 5 days here." Answers Aevus while giving 225 yul to the woman.

The woman gives him a key and says " Your room number is 13."

Aevus nods and leaves.

After Aevus left, a group that was a table away starts talking.

"Boss did you see that young man he just gave away 225 yul like it means nothing to him." Says a man that wears a black cloak.

" Do you think that i am deaf?" Answers the <boss> in an angry voice.

" Of course not," Says the mob while trembling.

" Good, when it is midnight we are going to rob him, understand?" Says the stronger mob or <boss> in a deep voice.

It was midnight and Aevus was sleeping, when suddenly his danger sense starts screaming at him.

He immediately awakes and uses his time-domain to see the future, he sees that 5 thieves will enter through the door in about 2 seconds.

He gets up and summons his Eternal sword,' Since they are just some thieves, i don't think the guards will give me trouble for killing them.'

The thieves break the lock of the door and get in, but before they can say anything, 2 of them get cut down by the sword while the other 2 are knocked out, the last managed to dodge Aevus attack.

" You managed to evade my attack." Says Aevus in a normal tone.

" You don't sound surprised," Asks the stronger mob that managed to dodge the attack.

" I am-" Before the boss of the thieves managed to say his name he gets interrupted by Aevus who says.

"Poison Nedes, that is a generic name," Says Aevus, while muttering the last words.

" You know me?" Asks Poison Nedes with a deep voice.

" Nope but my time-magic allows me to see the future," Says Aevus.

" Time-ma-" Just before the mob that had wide eyes finishes those words he gets his head cut off by Aevus.

" Idiot i just said i could see the future and he still tries to poison me," Aevus says while looking around.

" I hope the guards don't give me trouble i am too lazy to deal with them.

Aevus said to the owner of the inn to go get some guards to deal with the 3 dead thieves and the 2 captured ones.

A couple of minutes later, 8 guards came to take the thieves, but they didn't give too much trouble to Aevus since the moment they were about to question him he just showed the emblem his master gave him and they let him go.

Nothing else happened the next days, and today is the day of the magic knights.

Aevus was waiting in line to get his registration number when he feels someone coming behind him with a high amount of magic power.

He looks back to see a boy with average height with a lean build, amber eyes, and messy black hair, he is the one with a very high amount of mana. Next to him, he sees a boy with short stature that has an exceptionally muscular build. He has green eyes and messy, ash-blond hair with bangs in front of his forehead and a single strand protruding upwards from the center of his head. Aevus can't feel any magic from that boy which makes him confused.

Aevus looks at the 2 young men that are the same age as him and says,

" Hello, i am Aevus nice to meet."

" I am Asta and this is Yuno he is my Rival" screams the one that has no magical power with a very excited voice.

" Nice to meet both of you." Responds Aevus while thinking to himself

' why is he screaming?'.

" I will be the next Magic King," Says Asta in an excited voice.

" I will be the next Magic King," Says Yono after Asta in a neutral tone.

Aevus got stunned when he heard that but when he gets back he started laughing.

" Don't laugh I will become the Magic King" Says Asta while Yuno stays quiet.

" Sorry for that hahaha, but you will have to be much stronger than your current selves to become the Magic King," Says Aevus.

" Of course we are going to become mu-" Just before Asta was about to finish his sentence the one responsible for the registration says to Aevus to go forward.

" Sorry about that Asta, Yuno let's talk after the registration goodbye."

Aevus goes in front of the man responsible for the registration and hears him saying " Show me your grimoire".

The man gets shocked when he sees a 4-leaf grimoire and says" A 4-leaf grimoire" but quickly comes to himself and says what is your name.

" Aevus Chegar from Raque"

" Very well you are number 163, NEXT"

When Aevus was leaving he hears Asta yelling at Yuno.

" Yuno he has a 4-leaf grimoire just like you"

" I know i saw it" Answers Yuno.

When Aevus gets inside the venue he sees about 150 people waiting like him.' I wonder how many of them will become magic knights'

About 10 minutes everyone is inside the venue waiting for the exam to begin when suddenly many anti-birds went after people who had low magical power.

Only two people didn't have anti-birds on them. Of course, they are Yuno and Aevus.

" Both of them have 4-leaf grimoire," Says a shocked unknown man

" That man with the white hair and silvers eyes look so handsome," Said a couple of women when talking to each other.

A moment later everyone heard a scream and saw Asta running away from about 20 anti-birds that are hunting him, Aevus noticed that Asta was running towards a tall man with a very muscular build just as he was about to yell at Asta to stop or he was gonna suffer, Asta boosts his speed and bumps into the captain of the black bulls (RIP), since he noticed the birds weren't following him in that direction.

After everything happened just like the anime, the exam officially started since all the captains gathered here. After the Golden Dawn captain finished his speech he opened his Grimoire and said [Magic tree, Descent]

After he said that the sky darkens and a giant tree falls from the sky and it forms itself into 179 brooms that landed right beside all of the examinees and explains that the first test would be flying with the use of a broom.

' Captain Williams magic is always nice to see' Says Aevus while laying down at the broom and starts flying around.

Immediately all the captains spot him when he did that and thought to themselves' So that's where you are hehe'.

Aevus shivered when he noticed their eyes, even Dorothy Unsworth the captain of the Coral Peacock awoke when she felt his mana.

'I shouldn't have done that' thought to himself Aevus.

As for the other examines everything went just like the anime, where Yuno master the technique instantaneously, with him flying at considerable speed while standing on his broom. On the other hand, Asta is unable to lift off the ground at all, which confuses the examiners as well.

The exam then continues with the examinees performing various tasks, such as firing a blast of magic power at a wall, shooting at a moving target, creating something with magic, and pouring magic power into a seed to let it grow. In which Aevus passed everything with flying colors.

The head examiner, William, then reveals that the last test will be a combat test, for which the examinees are free to choose their dueling partner.

Aevus wasn't able to find someone to spar with him, the commoners were afraid of him while some royals knew whom he was so also didn't pick him since their chances of winning were less than 1%.

So after everyone fought only Aevus left but the head examiner said it was okay since all of them knew of his power.

The examiners then explain the grading process. Each examinee will be called forward individually, and if any of the captains wish to induct the examinee into their squad, they will raise their hand. If more than one captain raises their hand for an examinee, then that examinee is free to choose which squad to join. Examinees are considered to have passed the test if there is at least one captain who is willing to recruit them into their squad.

" 163 come forward" It was finally time for Aevus turn to pick his squad *cough* *cough* to see which squad wanted him.

When Aevus went forward all the captains lifted their hands at the same time. This shocked the examinees until they heard the captain of the black bulls say " Kid you know whom to choose" when the others captains heard that they were about to fight with Yami when they heard " Of course Yami i have already decided in which squad in will go"

When Aevus said that all the captains stopped and looked at him even the captain of the Coral Peacock was paying attention to it.

" I choose" Aevus stops for a second and continues.
