5 A Troubled Redhead

"So this is what it looks like" Kuro whispered to himself. He walked inside to soon be received by the red headed girl from before with a smile on her face. "Hello, I'm Rebecca and I'll be serving you today, if you would, please follow me"

"Of course"

Rebecca took Kuro towards a table and handed him a menu once he was seated, Kuro started to skim through everything until his eyes stopped at the sweets section. "I'LL TAKE IT ALL!"

Rebecca stared at Kuro with her brows furrowed. "Did I hear you right? You want every one of the sweets?"

Kuro was about to answer until Mori jumped in. 'Kuro, you do realize all this cost Yule right? You have to pay for all of this'

'But it looks so good, are you sure I can't just eat it now and pay later?' Kuro looked up at Rebecca and could tell she was losing patience. 'And I don't really think they could keep up with me'

'You'd be branded as a criminal and wouldn't be able to participate in the magic knights' exam, also being a criminal means no more sweets' Mori spoke in a stern voice trying to change his mind.

Huffing out a sigh Kuro shook his head. "I'm sorry, I'll just take some water to go"

Rebecca nodded her head and quickly walked off.

"So much for first impressions" Kuro plopped his against the table and waited. 'So Mori, how was your day?'

'Could be better, new souls and all th- SHUT UP' Kuro could hear music on the other side and some talking but just ignored it. 'Never mind'

After a couple of minutes Kuro left the restaurant with a deadpan expression on his face, the guy had to deal with Mori yelling in his ears as he tried to get some rest while also dealing with a slightly frustrated Rebecca. "I'll just be happy that I got my grimoire today"

Kuro looked up to see the sun already setting. 'Though I love the moon and all that where the hell am I going to sleep? I have zero yule!'

"You will sleep under a bridge tonight!"

'That's what's going to happen if I don't scrape up any money' Letting out another sigh of many, he started walking down the street with his hands in his pockets while humming.

'I could try robbing people, but then if I get caught I'll have to kiss the magic knights' exam goodbye' grunting in frustration, he turned his head around towards the establishment he was just in thinking of why he had the urge to go there but only to see Rebecca and her siblings being pulled away by a group of men. A devilish smile slowly grew on his face. "That doesn't mean I can't rob guys like them can I?"

Kuro vanished into the night reappearing and bullet jumping every now and then on rooftops, eventually he stopped on the edge of a building to watch as the group pulled the siblings into an ally and attempted to take their money only for Rebecca to yell and hide her siblings behind her.

'Looks like they're stealing your idea, Kuro' Mori joked, continuing to watch through Kuro's vision teleporting some popcorn into her hands. Of course Kuro heard her munching on them and rolled his eyes.

'Don't give me that, you have no clue how boring it is over here!"'

"If you say so, let's just save this troubled redhead" Kuro hopped from the rooftop and landed on the first guy's head, sending him face first into the concrete with a loud bang.

*Bang!*

The rest of the group looked towards the noise only to see a pale boy with raven hair with pink strands at the end and pink wine red eyes that seemed to glow in the darkness. "Alright which one started it?" Kuro looked at the group of thieves.

"Who the hell are you?!" a bald man with a tattoo of a snake under his eye yelled.

"Shut up and get him already!"

Kuro looked towards the source of the voice only for a tall buff build dark man with orange eyes and black hair to come into sight. Taking another look around to see how many were left which appeared to be only two aside from the tall guy.

A small smile grew on Kuro's face as formed a blood dagger in reverse grip, starting his charge towards the smallest first as the other two ran after him, the target opened his hands shaking and shot mud. "D-Don't underestimate me!"

"Never said I did" Kuro sped up dodging the mud along the way, when he was in range he threw the dagger into the small guy's thigh and before he could yell out in pain Kuro quickly kicked him in the head knocking him out.

'Never stop moving, Kuro' he thought to himself musingly, using the guy he knocked out as a platform to jump into the air, Kuro moved his body midair and looked at the guy with the tattoo under his eye.

The thieves below didn't want to waste such an opportunity and shot as many spells as they could.

'Crap!' Kuro quickly formed tens of daggers and threw them at the spells coming towards him causing them to explode.

A fireball managed to slip by and strike him causing a small explosion, Kuro fell from the sky and landed onto his feet without much difficulty. "Hot!"

'Kuro stop playing and finish this already or I'm taking back that wish back!' Mori yelled in frustration seeing Kuro close to getting hurt.

"Wish? Oh right that one, fine I'll stop playing" Kuro crouched down as low as he could before forming daggers in each hand reversed gripped, and bullet jumped towards the guy he was looking at before and the big guy with orange eyes.

Swinging out two kicks he knocked out the tattooed guy out like the one before him and using his other leg he kicked towards the big guy's head. it landed but seemed to just make him stumble back a bit.

The boss glared hatefully at Kuro once he gained balance and started sending punch after punch at him.

Kuro danced around the punches flying towards him and hastily turned his daggers into blood, following it up by shooting them into the big guy's eyes.

Not wanting to drag this on anymore he sent two more strong kicks to the guy's head which undoubtedly knocking him out.

Kuro turned his head towards Rebecca and her siblings and could see her hiding them behind her, slowly trying to make their way out.

"Hey!"

Rebecca continued to back away slowly while looking closely at his face. "I-It's you!"

"Yea it's me, what about it?" he asked tilting his head to the side.

"What do you want?" she asked glaring at him pushing her siblings more towards the exit.

"Calm down, I don't want anything I just saw these guys dragging you and those kids away" Kuro put up his hands up innocently but her guard didn't drop any less. "C'mon, I just helped you, if I wanted to something to you I would have done it already"

"Nothing is free, you either want something or you like getting yourself into trouble" Rebecca responded.

Huffing out another sigh, his lips parted. "Fine, I need some where to stay, you know any places?"

Rebecca thought over her choices and nodded her head "Follow me" she turned away and held her siblings close trying to keep their distance from Kuro. Though walking back to the restaurant one of her siblings named Marco came to talk which he didn't mind, they actually got along.

After entering Rebecca showed Kuro to his room, she told him he didn't need to pay since this was her paying him back for saving her and her siblings, so he just accepted.

Deciding to leave Rebecca with her siblings Kuro left for his room while they did the same, his room wasn't bad, just felt empty as there was only a table in the middle, a bed near the window, and a shelf above the bed that held a couple of books.

He wasn't going to complain since this room was his for the next 6 months so he slowly treaded his way towards the bed only to get startled by seeing a crow sitting outside the window staring at him. "I thought they all left back towards mother"

Ignoring it, he fell onto the bed and went out like a light the moment his head hit the pillow.
