18 YAMI BECOME'S A CAPTAIN

[ IN THE MORNING]

in the forest behind the grey deer base a magic knight wearing black clothes is training. this is yami sukehiro the vice-captain of the grey deer. there is a giant rock infront of him.. he gathers an enormous amount of dark magic on his katana and swings it infront of him.

yami :"[MANA ZONE : SUPER CONDENSED : DARK MAGIC : DIMENSIONAL SLASH : SPATIAL RIFT]"

a cut appears on the giant rock. the cut emits an enormous amount of magic. the cut suddenly open's up and chaotic space appear's in it. the spatial rift produces extremely powerful pulling force. the mana and matter in it's surrounding gets absorbed by it. the giant rock disintegrate's and gets absorbed. the spatial crack close's itself and all that is left is a giant pit.

yami :" this is currently my strongest attack. the only one in the kingdom who could be a match for me right now is the wizard king julius novachrono. he can see the future of his surroundings just like me . so he can counter my '[FORESIGHT]'"

yami :'my mana has reached peak wizard king class and will soon reach elite wizard king class. my combat ability has reached elite wizard king class without my magic items.'

**RING**

yami's communication device rings. yami attends the call.

yami :"yami here. who's this"

magic knight :"this is a message from the wizard king. the wizard king wishes to see you right now."

yami :"roger that"

yami cuts the call and head's towards the magic knight headquarters in the clover kingdom capital. as he travels yami thinks

yami :"it's been a few years since julius became the wizard king. he has already established the star system and i have already racked up a ton of stars due to my achievements . during my time in the magic knights , the people have started to recognize me. but for some reason i got the nickname 'GOD OF DEATH AND DESTRUCTION YAMI'. it is probably because of my appearance and strength."

[ AT THE CAPITAL]

yami enter's the magic knight headquarters and head's straight towards julius's room. yami enters julius room and sees william there with julius. mark stands there behind julius.

julius :"good ,both of you are here"

julius goes towards william and places his hand on his sholduer and says

julius :"i heard you did amazing work exploring that dungeon the other day."

william :"it was nothing."

julius :"i heard you saved all the knights that were caught by the trap spell with your magic. i wish i could've seen that magic!. oh, i'll give you the stars for that the next time. don't worry."

william :" i'm honored. thank you very much."

julius head's towards me and places his hand on my shoulder and says

julius :"i heard you defeated a lot of enemies in the defensive battle at kuka village . i heard you split the giant soldier the enemy made using rock magic in two."

yami :"it was nothing"

julius :"you deserve a lot of stars for the feat you have accomplished "

mark :"sir, it's about time"

julius :" oh ,right. sorry to have you two stop by when you're so busy . there's a job that i'd like you two to take on . it's bandit hunting."

yami/william :"bandit's???."

julius :"yeah, they're causing trouble all over. would you two catch them for me?."

william :"of course, sir. the magic knights live to serve and protect the people of the clover kingdom. we will happily accept this mission. but....."

yami :"why are you just asking the two of us?."

julius :"well, it's possible that someone from the magic knights is aiding the bandit's."

yami :"well, can't say i'm surprised"

julius :"hmm, i don't think they're ordinary bandits. they're very organized and even have some ancient magic items. pretty powerful ones, at that."

mark :"it may be that someone is providing them with magic items that we found in dungeons."

yami :"i see. so that's why you want us."

william :"if all the magic knights were assigned to this, evidence may be destroyed, and the guilty party may disappear . that's why we've been assigned to this secret mission."

julius :"exactly."

yami :"say, julius . what are you going to do if one of us is that traitor? we might just let the bandits escape ."

julius :" well, that would be a problem. but i think i know you two pretty well by now. i have been watching you two since you joined the magic knights. that's why i trust you both. but id you two end up betraying me, then i guess there isn't much i can do about it."

yami :"you were always a cunning old man"

julius :"well, i'll be counting on both of you."

julius looks at mark and he answers

marl :"yes sir"

mark creates a map of the clover kingdom in the room. there are a lot of marks on the map.

mark :"i've marked the town's and villages that have been attacked by the bandits."

i look at the map and say

yami :"i see . they are showing up at unexpected places. most people won't be able to figure out where they'll appear next.

mark say pointing at the map

mark :"i've sent messages to the magic knights in these area's to be on guard, but that information might've already leaked."

julius :"the bandits keep appearing in places that aren't heavily guarded."

william :"finding out the place where the bandits will attack will be easy. first we can rule out any place that's already been attacked. the next likely target's will probably be somewhere a treasure has been found lately , or somewhere near a harvest. a bountiful one at that. we can probably rule out places that are near the sites of attacks, too. they'll probably assume that such places are on alert and will be harder to attack. but even so there are too many location's for the two of us to handle, so"

william heads towards the map and points at a couple of places

william :"here ,here and this village. could you send out magic knights to these location to be on high alert against the bandits?"

julius :"i see. you want to take advantage of the fact that someone is leaking information to the bandits. right?"

yami :" i see. they'll probably avoid places that are being guarded by the magic knights. they'll target the places that aren't being guarded by the magic knights"

william :"yes"

yami :" which means the place's the bandit's will be targeting will be either the town of aymaia or zocodany village."

the both of us goes out of julius's room and heads towards our location. i head towards the town of aymaia.

[TOWN OF AYMAIA]

( AT EVENING )

i am patrolling around the town but there are no signs of bandits. my communication device rings and william's voice comes from opening it.

william :"yami , how are things looking there?"

yami :" nothing suspicious so far. they just finished their harvest and are preparing for their harvest festival. apparently their harvest was really good this year. how about there?"

william :"it appears that an ancient magic item was found in a cave near zocodany village recently. the item is being regarded as village's treasure and is displayed at the village head's home."

yami :" only a handful of magic knights would know about that at this point"

william :"it's too early for the bandits to show up for that treasure. so if they show up in search of that treasure, it'll be clear that there is a traitor within our ranks. but no matter where the bandits show up, don't handle them alone. we wait until we contact the other and they arrive to fight. ogt it?"

yami :"yeah, sure."

william :" i will contact you again if i notice something ."

the communication device gets cut and yami continues his patrol. it has become night and yami call's william for his routine checkup . the call doesn't connecct.

yami :"someone is blocking the mana flow from the other side. it seem's there really is a traitor and the bandits are attacking zocodany village"

yami :"[DARK MAGIC : DEMONIFICATION] "

yami's hair grows out and dark magic emits from it. his eyes and hair becomes pitch black and dark magic emits from all over his body. yami lifts from the ground and fly's towards zocodany village.

[ZOCODANY VILLAGE]

(AT NIGHT)

[WILLIAM VANGEANCE POV]

william is patrolling the village when he senses somthing

william :'this mana. its the bandits and judging by the mana there are more than 50 of them.'

william takes out his communication tool and calls yami but it doesn't work

william :"someone is blocking the mana flow. it seem's there really is a traitor and the bandits are attacking zocodany village. i need to stop them before they reach the village"

the bandit's are flying on brooms towards the village. the bandits notices a figure on top of a tree before they could react the figure attacks the bandits.

william :"[WORLD TREE MAGIC : MAGIC TREE DESCENDS]"

black clouds gather and tree roots appears from it. it shoots spikes towards the bandits . the bandits unable to react gets hit by it. a tree sprouts from the bandits that got hit. more than half the bandits are down. the bandits react.

bandit 1 :"[FLAME MAGIC : FLAME BOMB]"

bandit 2 :"[SAND MAGIC : SAND JAVELIN]"

bandit 3 :"[WIND MAGIC : WIND CUTTER]"

the bandits attacks william. but a tree grows from the ground and defends william.

bandit boss :" a magic knight. DIE"

bandit boss :"[ICE CREATION MAGIC : FROST DRAGON]"

an ice dragon attacks william but a bunch of tree roots appears and blocks the attack.

william :"the preparations are complete"

william :"[WORLD TREE MAGIC : GREAT MISTILTEIN TREE]"

william's magic surges. there are small roots on the ground ,they grow and catch the nearby bandits. a giant tree forms on the battle field. the bandit boss tries to defend but the bandit boss is overwhelmed by william's magic and gets caught.

william stands on the giant trees branch and ask's the bandit boss.

william :"who is your accomplice in the magic knights?"

before the bandit boss could answer the ground breaks apart and a giant mole made of earth shoots towards william. it grabs william and there are two people on top of the mole.

william :"i see. there are two traitors. goht from the crimson lion kings and mohl from the silver eagles"

mohl :"so this is what the wizard king was upto."

goht :" which means the wizard king order to protect the villages in the area was a diversion to pinpoint where we'd attack next, i guess we completely fell for it."

mohl :"you're not bad. lets negotiate. why not join us?"

william :"join you?"

mohl :"yes , it will be fun"

william :"it's tempting. but i'll pass. i've sworn my loyalty to the wizard king after all"

mohl :"then die"

the mole tries to crush william.

william :"sorry you are too late"

william :"[WORLD TREE MAGIC : GREAT MISTILTEIN SEED]"

a tree grows out of the mole and attacks the traitors. they are surprised ,but manages to dodge. they counter attack.

mohl :"[EARTH CREATION MAGIC : EARTH MOLE]"

goht :"[GOAT MAGIC : ATTACK OF THE HORN]"

a mole and a goat rushes towards william

yami :"[ DARK MAGIC : DARK CLOAKED LIGHTLESS SLASH]"

yami lands infront of william and blocks the attack

mohl :"yami sukehiro"

goht :" i guess you were following the wizard kings orders too"

before the traitor's could react yami and william attacks

yami :"[ DARK MAGIC : DARK CLOAKED LIGHTLESS SLASH]"

william :"[WORLD TREE MAGIC : DRACAENA FORMATION]"

both of them are hit and are knocked out. william captures them using his magic.

yami :" i guess we completed the mission."

william :"yes, we did"

[THE NEXT DAY MORNING]

(MAGIC KNIGHT HEADQUARTERS)

yami and william are infront of julius giving him the mission report. after listening to the report julius says

julius :"well done you two. you were able to capture the traitors as well as all the bandits"

yami/william :" thank you ,sir."

julius :"by the way yami, vangeance . considering all you have done so far, i'm appointing both of you as captain's of new magic knight squads"

yami :"you're making us...."

william :"captains of new squads"

julius :" will you accept my offer?"

the both of us gave a magic salute at the same time answering julius's question. i turn towards william and say

yami :"i guess the competition to see who can become a squad captain first ended in a draw."

william :"yes, but our true competition still lies ahead."

yami :"yeah"

william :" i won't lose"

yami :"neither will i"

julius :" i believe in both of you. yami, what kind of squad will you create?"

yami :"what kind of squad? lets see.... a squad where status, bloodlines and social standings don't matter. i'll round up some outsiders and outcasts and create a place where they can belong. just like you and some others did for me."

julius :"sure. that sounds great."

yami :"let's see..... i'll call them the 'BLACK BULLS'. it will be fun seeing a bunch of unique people mixing together."

yami :' i guess the squad i am creating is the same as in the anime. but it'll be fun'

julius :"the 'BLACK BULLS'. that sounds perfect for you. and what about you william?"

william :"i will create the 'GOLDEN DAWN'.

julius :"the 'GOLDEN?"

william :"yes. creating the ultimate squad is my way of repaying you, lord julius. as the name suggest's, i will make a squad that will bring a golden dawn to this world. even though the night is dark, i will prove that the light will always shine, and a golden dawn will come one day"

julius :" that sound's wonderful, too. i look forward to it. starting today you are the captain of the 'GOLDEN DAWN'. congratulations , william."

william :" thank you, sir"

william says as he shakes julius's hand. he come towards me and shakes my hand and says

julius :" and starting today, you are the captain of the magic knight squad , the 'BLACK BULLS'. congratulations yami."

yami :"thank you, sir"

i turn towards willaim and says

yami :"looking forward to working with you"

the both of us shake hands.
