Chapter 3: training begins, and ends!

Hey! Yes, I haven't updated in a long time. And yes, I deleted chapter 3, because I decided to rewrite it.

When I wrote it, I was improvising until that moment, without thinking about future chapters or the future direction of history.

And the reason for the delay is because I was trying to improve my writing, as well as thinking about the future of the story.

Well, let's just continue with the chapters, I hope I can really improve my writing going forward!

(…)

Chapter 3: training begins, and ends!

Then, Akira and Katsuo started teaching Yami, who learned everything.

Akira's training started with "swing the sword 100 times", and the number grew.

Katsuo's was for Yami to start feeling Ki faster and better. Then they put a blindfold on the boy and started throwing stones at him.

After Akira started to teach Yami to get up off the ground in any position he could fall.

Then there were duels … And time passed.

In total, it was 3 years of training.

For some reason, when Yami slept injured, after sleeping and eating well, he woke up with less mana, but his injuries were healed. Yami guessed it was because of his Solar magic.

His mother was worried that Yami would not have friends, but he said he would have a lot of time to make friends.

(…)

And on a beautiful day, Katsuo and Akira said the following words:

"The rest that you can improve is for yourself."

They said, before each one handed Yami a sword as a gift.

The katana that Katsuo gave him had a crimson-colored blade with yellow flames.

The katana that Akira gave was completely black.

The two katanas were Saw-Sword, that is, they had a jagged edge, perfect for tearing meat.

After that, they said goodbye and left, with steps so quiet that not even a noise was heard, returning to the village where they lived, which was a week's journey away.

Yami continued to do his routine, but realized that it didn't improve much.

So he decided to hunt magical creatures.

He went out of hiding so that his father and mother wouldn't worry or stop him.

With the sword that Katsuo gave him in his right hand and the one that Akira gave him in his left hand, he ran.

Yami sees a magical creature below him, he is now standing, on top of a small hill, where he can see a mana creature eating a dead boar.

The creature had a somewhat humanoid shape mixed with some kind of insect, the creature also had one hand with three claws, while the other hand had 3 fingers, but without claws.

He hesitated for a second, but he was already here for that, and he wasn't going to step back now. Not after that training he had endured for so long.

Then with determination, he takes a step forward, pushing the other foot back, and jumps as high as he can.

Yami jumps with his two swords in hand, and cuts vertically towards the magical creature with the sword in his right hand, only to discover that he missed the blow.

Yami tries to hit more blows, but fails, the creature simply dodged the blow.

And something unexpected happened …

The creature lets out a loud cry:

* WRYYYYY *

Yami is stunned by the noise, which makes him lose his balance and he stumbles, but that alone was enough for the creature to launch another attack on the poor boy!

The wound caused in Yami were 3 signs of claws, which went from his wrist to his elbow, from the 3 deep claw marks, blood started to flow quickly.

Yami remembered … reciting phrases?

This was a technique that Yami created.

This technique focuses mainly on Yami repeating a set of words or phrases that help you to focus on your task properly and keep your mind clear and block the pain, tiredness and anything else that might interfere with the battle.

After the creature's cry, Yami began to see an afterimage, which did not allow him to aim to attack or defend himself …

The creature swings its arms again, trying to hit Yami again!

Unfortunately, Yami was still seeing an afterimage, and he can't defend himself in time!

Yami was nailed!

The poor boy fell to the floor!

Yami is not intimidated and keeps concentrating, now he feels the dizziness passing …

The dizziness and imbalance pass, in time for Yami to draw his sword correctly, even if still on the ground, preventing the creature from sending another blow towards him … Yami kneels and quickly, recovering from his previous fall.

Yami intuitively uses Dark Magic on the blade, and launches towards the creature … and the blade cuts through a part of the creature's chest!

Right in the chest! Blue blood gushes from the creature!

The creature quickly punches Yami in the face with the fingered hand, causing the boy's head to be pushed back, but Yami recovers even faster than the last time, blood coming from his nose and staining even more his previously white shirt, which was now red and dirty with dust, which stuck even more thanks to the blood …

An unrestrained exchange of blows by the two parties begins … But Yami, with his two swords in hand, manages to land a stroke of luck right in the creature's arms!

The creature lowers his hand awkwardly, avoiding pain. Without turning on his back, the creature begins to walk slowly, as if to indicate that it would flee when it was far enough away. But from his ki, Yami knew that the creature would kill him as soon as he turned his back …

Yami thought no more before jumping towards the creature and swinging one of the swords vertically towards the clawed hand, but attacking horizontally with the other sword towards the creature's neck, from where a popping sound was heard, before the creature fell in floor.

Yami, injured and tired of the exchange of blows, falls to his knees on the floor, letting his two swords escape between his fingers and fall to the floor, before wiping the blood from his nose with the sleeve of his white shirt, only to result in staining further the previously white shirt and smear the blood across his face.

Yami went to a safe place.

He was now bandaging his forearm, when his hand mysteriously starts to glow yellow!

"My Solar Magic?" Yami whispers to himself, remembering the promised magic.

Like it or not, he feels like he should touch his palm, shining on his bruises. And so he does, which results in his injuries being healed! But for the cost that your mana pool was about to run out now!

What an absurd mana cost!

His magic, which amounted to a commoner's magic, was drained instantly!

Even though commoners have little mana compared to nobles, that doesn't mean they have little mana …

Comparing the amount of mana from a commoner to that of a nobleman was just like comparing gold to a ball of mud. Which would you rather have? It is obvious that gold is better!

Compared to mana creatures, commoners had a lot of mana, but could not beat them.

Because? You ask, and I can answer with:

Mana does not mean strength. Physical strength, experience, Ki, magic element and even how much a person has developed his magic element are not considered when measuring strength just by the amount of mana.

Mana creatures are faster, stronger, and some are even more intelligent than some humans. And yet humans underestimate them.

But we are off topic …

(…)

Now Yami bandaged his leg where a small injury was the result of the rampant exchange of blows, while Yami was thinking about his battle …

'A scream that causes hearing loss and balance temporarily, in addition to creating after-images.' it was obvious what happened.

'I should be more careful … If I died in my first fight due to my lack of attention …'

"Whoever seeks only glory does not deserve it." he recites, accepting it as a lesson.

'Whoever learns from the mistakes of others is a sage, whoever learns from their mistakes is intelligent, who does not learn by either means, he is a donkey.'

Yami continues to think while leaving the place where he was to reach a river, and then begins to wash his crimson clothes, previously white.

(…)

"Where are your clothes?" Emi asks patiently, while looking at a Yami in his underwear, outside the house.

"I went swimming in the stream, and I lost my clothes." - Yami said stoically … 'I won't wash it for the tenth time!'

He had learned important lessons from that fight … One of them was not to fight with white clothes!

(Notes)

I really have to learn how to write better fights.

Ah, remembering now, say what you think of the chapter in the comments, even if it is a criticism, I would be very happy to receive this support!

If you find any mistake, comment too!

Hope you have a nice day.
