1 The Airplane Ride

"I'M SOOOO LATE" I said as I rushed down to the airport. I just had the best summer vacation at my grandma's house in Miami. "Waitttt" I could see the flight attendant already closing the gates. I ran as fast as I could.
"You are really late"
"I know and I'm really sorry"
"Me too" said a boy who looks my age
"Kids" the flight attendant said as she rolled her eyes
"Hey sugar pie, thanks". I nodded and said a you are welcome. I took a long look at him and realized that he was wearing a full collection of Alexander Dowie's line and it wasn't even in the market. From the shirt to the trousers and the bag even the shoes. I tried to get one for Roy for his birthday. It isn't coming in months but I like to get a little prepared.
"You can stop staring now. I know I'm incredibly handsome" the dufface said as he slightly touches my cheeks and signals that the attendant lady was calling us.
"Don't you touch me and you" I said as I scoffed and made my way to the entrance of the plane. I don't know the asshole that decided to let his or her foot in the way and made me fall. I was humiliated and it only did get worse. I fell on a soup bowl. I located my seat and went to sit.
"Could this day get any worse?"
"Yes, it could. Hi sugar pie" Dufface said as he sat beside me. Looks like I have you all to myself. Prepare to be amazed.
"Oh God what did I do to deserve this" I said as I buried my hands in my face.
"Don't worry I won't tell anyone you had a love at first sight encounter". I don't even know this boy so well and he's already serene music when all of a sudden, I heard a big bang. I quickly removed my ear piece only to find out that dufface here was trying to get my attention.
"What the hell do you want dufface"
"Sugar pie can I please borrow your phone? I promise it will only be for a minute". His eyes looked promising so I gave him and then in less than 2 minute I could hear my serene music playing in the speakers of the airplane.
"Heyyyyy… turn it off" I said as I tried to collect my phone
"Hell no. I'm feeling the vibe of this music" he said as he moved his body sluggishly and off rhythm.
"Oh c'mon. I can see those flight lady guys asking for people's phones." As a flight lady came towards us dufface threw the phone at me.
"hey I'm sorry but can I see your phone". I pretended not to hear her and looked outside
"Hey sugar pie this lady is asking for your phone" Dufface said as he smiled evilly
"Oh… sorry. I don't have one"
"Don't lienee. I saw you with the phone when you turned on the music and I asked you not to do so" Is this guy trying to frame me? Oh gosh he's so impossible and then he made a face that made him look innocent.
"Believe me when I say I didn't know when it happened. It wasn't me" I explained as I gave the flight lady my phone
"But it's your phone" Dufface said as he emphasized on the your
"And you are the one who put it" I try to say as I defend myself.
"Now now sugar pie, it's your phone and it's not cool trying to accuse your boyfriend like" Is this guy for real? Not only is he trying to embarrass me but also, he's calling me his girlfriend?
"Not cool dude" a teenager said behind me. "I mean the music stuff was really cool but blaming your handsome boyfriend is totally not cool". I smiled and said I'm sorry. The teenager was obviously gay. I decided to avoid dufface for a while. I picked up my story book and began to read it and that got him out of the picture for like 2 minutes. I guess he was thinking of another way to annoy me and as I thought of what better way, dufface here took my book and threw it at the lady who took my phone.
"Hey… sugar pie, you got to take it easy. I know you are angry at me for not covering up for you" Here we go again I said to myself and this time he was trying to make a really big scene because he was shouting and then looking sympathetic. "And I'm totally sorry for not working out like you told me to. You know I just lost my dad and the gym is not helping matters cos he owns it and you don't even help me. All you care about it your face and how beautiful you look or how beautiful I make you look. I don't want to embarrass you, cos I love you but you are making this hard for me" he said as he took a tissue and cried real tears.
"Are you for real. Shame on you, young lady. People like you are meant to be in a juvenile home" said an old man two seats behind me.
"You know young boy if you need another girlfriend my daughter just broke up with her boyfriend a few weeks ago and you look like a lovely boyfriend" said another lady
"I really appreciate but I really adore my girlfriend here" dufface said as he smiled at me.
"Oh, puhlease excuse me" I got up and went to the bathroom. I had to throw up and it just got me that I forgot my meds. Oh geez. I spent like 30 mins in the bathroom hoping that when I got back the tension in the plane would have died down but it turned out to be a bummer cos, I could still hear side chats of how hideous I am. I walked to my seat and didn't see dufface. I pretended not to care. It was better I enjoyed the little time he was gone. He already caused so much damage to my reps. I looked outside the window admiring the clouds and nature when all of a sudden, I saw dufface going down on one knee trying to propose. I didn't even look at him and thanked my lucky stars that the flight was coming to an end.
When I got off the plane, I still got side remarks and the flight lady was telling me that I should cherish my boyfriend and blah blah blah. As I turned to leave the checkpoint, waiting for me was my ever-loving best friend who I couldn't wait to hug. I missed that smile.
