Ollios' quest

"Haha, he is still alive!" Ollios laughed when he watched the scene through his magic. He nearly thought Wain's body wouldn't be able to contain the enormous amount of mana, however his little pet never stopped amazing him.

Though slowly, he began realizing why other gods liked to command humans over other monsters. He always thought they were ashamed of their creation next to those of his, but he agreed it was no fun spectating a dragon, capable of sleeping for thousands of years.

Although he modified Wain's body himself and it was a complete masterpiece, he still didn't believe Wain could cast a 4th-grade spell to defeat Irzok the Corruptor, with his squishy 2nd-grade body.

However, the mana flow pattern he implanted within Wain's body proved to be more durable than he originally expected.

Although he gave Wain enough knowledge to manipulate mana up to 9th-grade standard, the human brain was too limited for such an advanced knowledge and he wasn't sure if Wain would understand it from the shard of knowledge he had left behind.

Ollios was so proud that he boasted about Wain a little to other gods and entered a bet with the God of Light, Ernos.

The content of the bet was simple, Ernos didn't believe Ollios was capable of creating anything, so to win the bet, Ollios had to establish an Empire worshiping the God of Chaos, that wasn't a big deal, right?

Although he created Wain for the purpose of destruction, Wain already amassed a significant force to be soon called a kingdom, with the next step being an empire. He just needed to occupy significant territory and possess enough high-tier combatants, Ollios was confident Wain could manage the task as long as he guided him a little.

His only fear was that other gods and Ernos especially, will try to mess up with Wain. Thankfully they weren't able to find him due to the robe he gave to Wain, however it would grow increasingly more difficult to stay concealed once Wain starts to act on a larger scale.

Fortunately there wasn't a time limit how long his empire had to exist, so he would just rush it and see how it goes.

[Building an Empire] (Ollios's quest)

Quest description: You are always hidden in the mountains, go and show to the world a little.

Completion requestment: Conqueror the Cloudgate Town.

Time limit: 30 days

Reward: 5 000 Chaos Points

Penalty: You will disappoint me

Two days passed, during which Wain recovered from the backlash he received and stabilized his mana core once again. He also used the opportunity and ascended to 3rd-grade by absorbing the mana core of Irzuk the Corruptor.

With this accomplishment, he now reigned as the undisputed Lord of the Barestone Mountains. The chieftains dared not defy him, and hordes of monsters flocked to Blackridge Town, significantly expanding its boundaries.

This growth placed greater responsibilities on Luarin, who had to find several assistants to help her oversee the town's expansion.

Wain also preserved the titles of Strusk and other chieftains, filling their numbers with Old Potato, Rryk and Luarin to form the new twelve rulers of the mountains and oversee the various clans in the town.

With all organization work resolved, Wain continued to quietly improve his strength from the resources and tributes he received. He planned to stay hidden until his resources could fully support his growth, however, this all changed when he received that quest from Ollios.

"Is he trying to kill me?" Wain muttered to himself. While his fear of Edwin Elton had been long gone, and his forces might be sufficient to conquer Cloudgate Town, what would happen if an army of monsters captured a town?

Wain was no longer ignorant, he gathered information about the surrounding forces, and it was clear that the whole Moosgarde Kingdom would send their forces to deal with them once he made a move.

Moreover, when Ollios switched to being a conqueror? Wain was convinced to be a World Destroyer! However, there was nothing he could do about it. He didn't know the full extent of the consequences that might result from disappointing Ollios, but he had no intention of testing those waters.

He planned his next move to be attacking Cloudgate Town anyways, but he decided to use the time limit of thirty-day granted by the quest to its fullness, gathering information and preparing before making a move and Kadden would play a vital role in this plan.

The time has come, when a legend will be born!

...

"I can't believe it's truly happening." Kadden exclaimed in disbelief as he stood before the imposing gates of Cloudgate Town. At first, he thought Wain was joking when he received the news, but after the rigorous training he underwent in the last two days, he started growing confident in his success.

He didn't know where Wain received these things, but he was forced to consume a plant, after which his hair turned blonde and taught him a skill [Perfect Actor], which changed his expression and gesturing however he wanted to look. It was weird at the beginning since his body moved on its own, but Kadden managed to master the skill and was prepared to use it to its fullest extent.

"This is ridiculous," Karin, who had accompanied Kadden, was less enthusiastic. She was the noble girl, who they saved after defeating Dagorad, the chieftain of Mountain Orcs. At that time, she was on the brink of ending her life, however, then Luarin took her in as her direct subordinate and ever since then, no monster dared to lay a finger on her

"Don't worry, it will work out." Wain reassured her. He had initially intended to bring Luarin along, since this was his first time entering a human town, however, Luarin had exactly the same reaction as Karin and sent her subordinate in her stead, excusing herself that she had a lot of work to do in Blackridge Town.

As the trio approached the gates of Cloudgate Town, the guards halted them. They were walking from the direction of Barestone Mountains after all, so he had to check their identities.

"Hello, I haven't seen you here before. Is this your first visit to our town?" the guard approached them asking with a friendly smile.

[Rudolph] (Human, middle 1st grade)

Level 43

Hp 530 / 530

Rudolph, the guard at the gate, found himself nervously assessing the trio before him, his instincts alerting him to their strength. While Karin was weak, only lately forming her mana core and reaching the lower realm of 1st-grade, it was different for the other two, whom he couldn't see at all. This meant they had to be close to 3rd-grade!

His anxiety only increased, when the strangers didn't respond to his question, staring at him silently. Rudolph felt like facing a pack of wild beasts as their fierce gazes pierced through him and he instinctively found the hilt of his sword with his hand, prepared for any sudden conflict that might erupt.

"Oh, I apologize..." Kadenn suddenly realized that he was the leader of their group. Rudolph's face was already drenched in sweat from anxiety, because Kadenn completely forgot about the immense pressure he currently emitted and unknowingly concentrated it all on Rudolph.

"Yes, we are traveling adventurers from the Westcoast Empire," Kadden began with a warm smile, releasing the pressure he exerted on Rudolph. "We would like to enter the town and join the local adventurers' guild."

Ah… Rudolph heaved a sigh of relief. He was finally able to breathe once again.

"Westcoat Empire? That's quite a journey..." Rudolph noted, and couldn't help but wonder about the group's true strength. The journey through the dangerous Barestone Mountains to reach Cloudgate Town was not one to be undertaken lightly.

"However," Rudolph continued, "unfortunately, I can't permit a party of strangers to enter the town without some questions. Do you mind answering a few inquiries, or do you happen to possess a token for entry?"

"Like this one?" Kadenn displayed a token which Wain received from Norward after he "saved" him and the guard's expression has undergone a drastic change upon seeing it.

"You know Norward Clemson?!" Rudolph exclaimed in shock. Norward Clemson was a renowned figure in Cloudgate City, one of the town's wealthiest residents. Acquiring a token from him was no small feat.

"I apologize for detaining you," Rudolph continued, showing a significant change in demeanor. "You are certainly welcome to enter the town." He led the way through the gate, his gesture almost akin to a bow. Not only did the trio possess strength, but they also held influential connections in the town. He couldn't dare to offend them!

With that, Kadden's party was granted entry into Cloudgate Town, one step closer to their objective.
