Zayn was already out the door when his twin started yelling at him. Zayn could barely hold back his laughter.
In the duo, Veronica was always the good child and smart one. She was the most responsible and usually had to take care of her brother as well as herself.
On the other hand, Veronica's brother Zayn, would probably have been dead if it weren't for her. Zayn was always getting into trouble, he was the mischievous one.
Even though Veronica acted as if she hated him and saw him as a nuisance, she still loved him and treated him like the only thing important to her.
But right now she was furious. What if he gets caught? What if he trips and falls into somewhere he shouldn't be in? How is going to find his way back? Will he make it back? Thoughts continued to coarse through Veronica's head.
'If he gets caught, or even seen they're going to blame it on me for not watching him.'
After a long sigh she eventually decided to get up and find her brother before he gets into any trouble.
She got out of her cot to look around her and saw how small the tent was. Veronica hadn't noticed until now. The tent itself was in a horrible condition.
The top of the tent had cut marks and small holes that reached toward the sides a little. The ground instead of a fine and sturdy flooring was a sand filled mess.
The sand would make dunes going up and down all over the tent which made the cots on a tilt. So immediately after she stepped of the cot she slipped on the sand and ate sand.
Veronica got up and wiped her self off of the sand on her pants. She went toward the door which was really a two pieces of fabric tied together.
The moment she stepped outside she got chills down her spine. It was as cold as winter. She grabbed her jacket a putted it on. Veronica then used her ability to make a flashlight with the sand on the ground.
Using the flashlight she saw the footprints that were left behind by Zayn. Veronica at that moment realized that it was going to be a long night.

Zayn left the tent when he heard his sister yelling at him. This only made him want to discover the sound even more.
He went down the hill they lived on to see the academy in the distance which was glowing as if on fire. He stood there taking in the beauty of the scenery. But that didn't last long when he heard some mechs coming his way.
Humans not only got power from the war with the monsters but also extreme advanced technology. Which thus technology leased to spacecrafts, mechs, the military, and teleportation which was called gates.
Mechs were huge hulking machines that carried shotguns, rifles, machine guns, or missiles. Zayn did not want to get caught by that beast. So he started running the opposite way of the mech hoping it wouldn't notice him.
Unfortunately the exact opposite happened. The user of the mech heard the sound of steps coming from behind him. He looked behind to find Zayn running away from him.

Zayn was still running even after the threat from the mech. He knew that they were slow but packed a punch.
That's when the mech shot his left leg with 50mm. Zayn immediately fell down and screamed in pain. He had to act fast the mech was coming closer by the second. He had only about 30 seconds before the mech arrives where he's at and he couldn't run.
That's when he heard a cracking sound. Zayn was confused on what the sound was when the ground around him caved in. This not only brought Zayn with it but also the mech. Zayn could hear the screams of the mech user as they were falling.
