1 Beginnings

It was dark, the sun flew down a minute ago and Zayn was still energized to tip of his head to the heels of his feet.

It had already been a day since Zayn went to military school. To others they would have said it was terrible and an eternity, but to Zayn however it went by like a breeze.

Ever since the world found out that monsters existed, their best plan of action was to kill them all and to show no mercy to them.

After 3 years of war against the monsters, both the humans and monsters came to a treaty. But that didn't stop humans for preparing for the next war.

Even though monsters now live in the common world with humans, they didn't get the same respect and decency as them.

The world made laws on how to deal with the monsters, one of them was that all humans at 16 years of age had to attend 2 years of military school. So that if they decide to attack again, humans were ready to fight back

For Zayn that was the case. He had lost everything to the war. His parents died shortly after they were born, and when the war happened taxes increased to an extreme and caused him to loose a lot of his belongings.

All he had for family was his twin sister Veronica, who had been gifted with the most of strong abilities. The power of Creation and Destruction.

When the world first discovered monsters, these big hulking beasts of different variety like Ogre's, Goblins, Giants, and more, we didn't know what to do. The monsters were vicious and ferocious and couldn't have been stopped if it weren't for them.

Humans as a last ditch effort of survival of the fittest, were empowered with powers and abilities from an unknown phenomenon. These people were called the survivors and were a very big deal. They had limits when came to their powers and what they could do however.

The Survivors used their new abilities to fight against the monsters and ultimately came up with a true between them. The truce said that the monsters couldn't and wouldn't hurt a human being no matter what about the situation.

Their abilities ranged from catastrophic to pathetic. Abilities like telekinesis, water, fire, earth, strength, body enhancement, empowerment, etc..Only the strong remained and it was the Survivors job to protect humanity.

But their weren't that many Survivors, so they found a way to teach and gift abilities to others. This was their gift to us as civilians to protect ourselves. However not all Survivors were willing to give their secrets away and only teach their own blood.

This is where Zayn and Veronica come into. The duo had just became 16 and already got hauled off to military school. Though, Zayn didn't have an ability unlike his sister who had an amazing power which allowed her to convert the atoms of an object to anything she wants if she is touching it, and as long as she's seen the object and knows how to make it before she can perform. Sadly her ability couldn't be given to her brother because of his body not allowing any ability be entrusted with him.

Right after lights out, back in Zayn's and Veronica's barracks, Veronica decided to go to sleep while Zayn on the other hand was bored out of his mind.

"Hey Veronica! What do you think they're doing outside?"

"I don't know Zayn... go to sleep it's already 9:30..."

Indeed the time had gone by to 9:30 but Zayn's curiosity was killing him from the inside out.

"Cmon Veronica don't be like that, I know that your also wondering what all that noise outside is all about."

"If you don't shut up and not go to sleep I'm going to take your lunch again..."

"I don't care if you take my lunch or not but I'm going out there to see what's all happening."

And before Veronica could say anything, Zayn was already out of the tent.
