9 A Knife to your Throat

A few days later, the scarlet dragon returned to Hiera bearing horrible news. He flew over the city gates directly to the castle. Ifrits were ready to put him down, not knowing who that was.

The dragon landed in front of the castle and screamed, "Fadil, tell your soldiers to stop. I don't like being tickled."

The door to the castle opened, Fadil awaited with an angry face, "What are you doing here? Specially in your dragon form, you should always switch forms when entering Hiera."

"Sorry brother, but it's important."

"Have you decided already?" Fadil yawned, he was wearing something that resembled pajamas, even though his scales worked perfectly as clothes.

"Not yet, but Draak needs your help. An enemy has infiltrated The Throat of the Devil."

Fadil jumped out of the castle, immediately shifting to his dragon form, he barked, "What kind of enemy? We haven't had a foe in 250 years."

"Indeed brother, this is what makes the situation so extreme. We need to head to it as soon as possible."

"Then let's go! My steward will take care of everything until my return."

They flew out of the city, leaving many of its inhabitants anxious. The steward used some sort of device to transmit his voice through the entire city.

"Inhabitants of Hiera, members of the Ignis. Don't fret, Fadil was required on the court of the city of Draak. He'll be back soon"

Fadil thanked the humans that created that technology. The only faction that refused to use them were the Draconians, they had too much pride to do it.

Arriving at The Throat of the Devil, something resembling a human was on the edge of it and had a dagger pointed to it.

The dragons approached him. "State your name!" Sanguis ordered.

The creature answered, "Hahahahahahaha. They said I should die. Hahaha. I'm taking them with me."

"Who said you should die? You are a Hiernian like all of us. What faction are you from?"

"Hahahaha. Factions, it all comes down to factions. They told me I was insane. But now I see, you're the insane ones. Hahahahaha." The creature kept its back turned to the dragons the whole time.

"STATE YOUR NAME!" Sanguis shouted at it.

"Name? I wasn't given one. Hahahahaha. I was given a knife to the back and was sentenced to death. It's my fate… Hahahaha."

Sanguis flew in its directions, his eye were bloodshot. But before he could reach the creature, Fadil interrupted.

"Brother, let's respect life in this sacred place. Who are you?"

"Who? I have no identity. But you know what I am.You know very well. Hahahaha."

The creature turned to Fadil. With a single glance, he realised what it was.

"No, you can't be… Your race is extinct… Not even Zero could make you progress so fast!"

"What is that brother? I have never seen something like that before."

"A human."

"..."

Sanguis flew at him once again, but before he could reach him, the human took the dagger and stabbed himself in the heart.

He fell on The Throat of the Devil.

Sanguis and Fadil looked at the huge crater on the ground, what they called The Throat of the Devil. The human body was still falling.

As soon as it reached the bottom, he started to reincarnate. Fadil immediately flew back at least 50 meters, sensing extreme danger.

Sanguis stood on the edge. He looked at Fadil, and then back at the crater. Something was moving fast towards him. The thing arrived quickly, it punched Sanguis on the head, sending him 250 meters back.

A Silver Scaled Dragon. That color wasn't common between the Draconians. In power, it was stronger than a scarlet dragon, but in pair with a black dragon.

"Sanguis, get up!"

"I can't, I'm dead…"

"Come on, I can't fight him alone."

"Alright, but two or three more of those and I'm done for it."

"Avoid them then."

"Easier said than done!"

Sanguis shifted to his humanoid form and ran at the dragon's direction. He directed a punch on it's head, but it avoided.

Fadil stood 5 meters tall and 7 meters long in his dragon form. The Silver Scaled Dragon was smaller and faster, but with a good strategy it could be easily defeated, they were two after all.

"Sanguis, keep distracting it until I devise a plan. Just don't get hit."

"Oh thank you, I would surely get hit if you had not told me that."

"Hahaha, even when you face an opponent stronger than you, you have time for jokes."

The Silver Scaled Dragon moved on a weird pattern, Sanguis couldn't follow him. But in just a few moments, Fadil had already devised a plan.

"Fadil, can you come here and fight for a little bit?"

"Yeah, sure. The plan is ready… Just keep flying above us, you'll know when the time comes."

"Hahahahaha, I told them. The secret for reincarnation was in this place! But they wouldn't listen. They never did. Hahaha. I did what was the best at the moment."

"What did you do? Did you killed them?"

"Hahaha, it seems you figured me out…"

Fadil raced in its direction. When he was just 5 meters away from it, Fadil spat black flames on its face.

"Argh! What is this? Do I need to kill you too?"

"There's no need, I'll be going." Fadil turned its back to the dragon and started walking away.

"Come back here, I still need to finish you. Hahahaha."

The Silver Scaled Dragon rush forward and tried burrowing his claws on Fadil. But in that exact moment, Fadil said, "NOW!"

Sanguis fell from the sky directly above it. His claws were lined to its neck.

In a single moment its head was severed on the ground.

"Now do you understand why I need access to The Throat of the Devil?"

"I do… But was the alliance just a way for you to get here?"

"No, I want to spread Reincarnation Magic to all Hiernians. That was my first goal."

"I grant you full control over the northern copper mines. Ignis can have free access to The Throat of the Devil. And I'll send you a portion of our professors."

"And as my end of the deal, I'll teach the Draconians how to properly reincarnate."
