1 The blue jays are singing

It was shadowy, mute night with nothing but the winter air drifting through the town. As the city lights illuminated the mahogany-colored lamppost, his silhouette became more sinister. The city slowly became more quiet, almost as if it was only him and his prey alone together.

Then she saw it. A gloomy figure that screeched danger and blood-thirst.

She ran. She ran. She ran.

But to no avail he was always right behind her; she started to call for help, but the city became nothingness and she became the nights only denizen.

The clock began to tick. He was quickly catching up to her. She looked, and saw the monster that came over her eyes; he had golden eyes that contradicted his malicious behavior; his black hair that seemed to consume any life of color. He was a paradox of evil and beauty. And his lifeless demeanor destroyed any fiber of relief in her body.

Too late. He caught up. In an alleyway of an unknown street; as he slowly began to devour his prey she began to cry and scream begging him to stop.

Her screams became the song of the night; the oblivious people unbeknownst to them that a tragedy was being enacted upon. The melodies of her screams echoed into the pitch black darkness while her body slowly self destructed into a pieces of nothingness.

He slowly left, and his anger too. Leaving only the girl and a soon-to-be fright that would change the lives of the people.
