25 [Fear Me]

//"Now I have become Death, the destroyer of worlds..."

There are only so many real-life quotes that can send a shiver down my spine, this is one of them.

I recommend listening to Skaldhakker during the Reality Marble deployment scene, sorry for the spoiler btw.//

"..."

Silence reigned over the room as a few, jet-black feathers gently floated across the small quarters of a noble and her lover. Louise's eyes were dull, devoid of any life and light, just two blank pink orbs in a sea of white.

"...You may rest now, my dear master."

And like that, the girl's eyes groggily closed and her body began to sway from side to side. However, before she could so much as begin falling towards the ground, she found herself tucked into the bed, covered by soft and warm covers. Her body and mind tired, it took no time at all for her to succumb to the sweet embrace of drowsiness and fall unconscious within a moment's notice.

"Now then partner..." Derflinger appeared within Ordell's hand even without the male having to move a single inch from his spot, something that nearly made the sword dizzy, somehow.

"...Ready to... have some fun?" Ordell's tone was low, ominous and seeping with venom as he turned to the open window.

Before Derflinger could find words to answer with, the two were off. Somehow, without making much noise, the two of them blasted forth through the window and into the skies, unobserved by any of the passing students and staff. The wind blew harshly against Ordell's figure, but it didn't make him slow down one bit he soared higher and higher, until finally, he and Derflinger broke through the clouds, leaving behind a hole-shaped... well, hole.

"Woah, holy shit bro how about you slow down?!"

And much to the sword's chagrin, the male didn't just slow down, he stopped. Ordell just went from going near the speed of sound to not moving at all, resulting in another blast of strong air pushing against the two. Ordell's eyes glowed, his vision changing drastically from the world normal people are used to seeing to mere silhouettes against a black canvas, the same way he saw the nobles in the dining room along with their soul fires. This was that very same type of vision, only on a much grander scale. He could pinpoint the individual molecules making up the atmosphere, see the electrons quickly spin around the nucleus of an atom and even see past the curvature of the planet itself.

But he wasn't interested in any of this, no, his eyes solely focused on a single carriage, ways off the academy, heading in one direction on a dirt road with but two people inside. One was the driver of course, and the other was a very peculiar maid.

"Siesta located. Now... to stop her."

Ordell once again entered high speeds, his body flying at Mach 8 without a single issue, yet his wings didn't so much as flap a single time. Derflinger in one hand, the male overtook the carriage transporting Siesta faster than a rocket, stopping just a few ways away from it.

He glanced around and was pleased to see that the forest around them was very dense, too dense for the carriage to pass by. So, the male pointed his free hand forward, towards a tree line close to the read. A bright flash of light followed, unseen by anyone, the white light quickly fading into red and black only a microsecond later. A shape began to take form in Ordell's palm.

'Hyperdimensional Connection confirmed.'

'Accessing item assembly...'

'Item assembly accessed.'

'Beginning raw material transfiguration: oxygen -> titanium, superalloy tungsten, atomic microchips, gravitational cavitation reactor...'

'Assembly successful.'

"Gravitational Beam Emitter, acquired..."

"The WHAT now?!"

A short, rectangular gun appeared in Ordell's outstretched hand, the barrel of which pointed at a few innocent trees in the distance. The gun was something of a completely foreign design to Derflinger. He has seen flintlock pistols before, but this one looked like it had machinations inside it on a level far too small for the human or elf eye to see. Yet, not a single ounce of magical energy came from the weapon as a bright crimson light began flashing from the barrel.

"5% power, firing... now."

-CLICK-

-BLAAAM!-

It wasn't quite a bang that followed the firing sequence of the weapon, but a strange, drawn-out noise one couldn't help but associate with some manner of a buzz or a remixed version of a simple bang. A thin, crimson beam erupted from the tip of the gun barrel and disappeared very quickly, but had just enough time to hit the trees the gun was aimed at.

-BOOM-

A minor boom followed after the explosion occurred, the following shockwave managed to uproot some trees and make them fall onto the ground, blocking it completely. The tree unfortunate enough to be hit by the beam was just about destroyed, leaving only a few splinters behind and a quickly spreading fire.

"That should keep them occupied for now."

"You're pure evil, partner, pure evil..." Derflinger almost sighed as he watched the destruction take place, the crazy things he had seen people do for love still barely even compared to these acts, unfortunately, there were some wielders who were a bit... crazy.

The sword pushed these memories aside as his body was once again subjected to a massive shift in pressure. Ordell wasted no time dispelling the gun and flying upwards, shooting past the clouds yet again just as Siesta's carriage reached the burning and uprooted trees. Poor trees.

"Now... time to get rid of that ugly bastard..."

Luckily, Ordell was smart enough to snag a picture of Count Mott from this week's newsletter, which just so happened to feature the palace messenger on the front page! He didn't even bother reading the article and just tore the picture from the page, using it as a guide to help him locate the man in question. It took Ordell all of five seconds to do so, and he found the lecherous male in his mansion just a few kilometres down the path Siesta's carriage was taking.

Ordell's wings fluttered in the wind as he hovered over the large estate, noting the presence of an overwhelming number of women compared to the number of guards inside. One soul fire was quite brighter than the rest, coloured blue like water, but colder, having the shape of liquid fiery ice. Count Mott's element was ice, so this was all but expected. Quite a few ways ahead of what Ordell had seen the students capable of too.

"Well then... GO AWAY."

A yellow, glowing halo appeared over Ordell's head, rotating at slow speed, just outside the reach of his horns. Inside the Count Mott's home, every servant and guard exclusively not regarded as "Count Mott" had the very same halo appear over their forehead as well, their eyes glowing gold as they suddenly all simultaneously jolted. They ran and barreled through the estate to get outside as fast as they physically could, all the while their brains didn't register any of it.

Some of the servants and scantily clad maids even jumped out of the windows just to get away from the house, and this left Count Mott more than confused and terrified. Seeing everyone in your home suddenly gain a glowing golden halo over their forehead, only then go fucking bonkers and run away is sure to deal a blow to your psyche.

So, the man had no choice but to satisfy his terrified curiosity. He followed the mind-controlled servants outside, to see where they were going or what possessed them to become so... inhuman-like. He ran as fast as his legs could carry him, and upon passing through the main entrance to his home, Count Mott had come face to face with the perpetrator of this strange phenomenon.

There, in the sky, just a few meters in the air was a man. From his back protruded six wings, three on each side. A man clad in a white coat with a rusted sword in one of his hands, two glowing red horns adorning the top of his head further surrounded by a golden halo.

All breath left the count's lungs, words unable to leave his throat a sight that one might continually confuse between both Satanic and Angelic. The servants had all continued to run, they ran down the dirt path that Ordell had flown over, mindlessly getting away from their supposed master.

The count could do nothing but fall to his knees and gape at the sight of the six-winged man. Shadow obscured Ordell's face from the count's vision, but his glowing red eyes remained visible to further stare down terror right into the lecherous man's soul.

Then... Ordell let go of Derflinger. Yet, to the sword's own surprise, it remained floating in the air. Then, the winged male brought his hands together, his fingers bending and pressing together to create an intricate, symmetrical shape. Now, Derflinger slowly floated in front of Ordell before erupting in a pillar of bright golden lightning.

The whole body of the rusted sword vibrated with great intensity, slightly terrifying the sword as sparks of lightning raced across its whole body. Golden lightning bolts shredded the rust from the sword, quickly cleaning the blade of any impurities and etching onto its blade a series of foreign letters. The series of nine runes meant the following: Limbo, Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Wrath, Heresy, Violence, Fraud and Treachery in sequential order, going from the tip of the sword to the guard.

These runes lit up in ominous crimson light, shining brightly against the golden lightning bolts surrounding the empowered sword that was once supposed to be an anti-magic weapon. The general appearance of Derflinger remained the same, but the power the blade emanated was magnified tenfold.

Finally, the man spoke. His words were cold, emotionless and robotic. They didn't fail to send a shiver down Count Mott's spine...

"Deploying Reality Marble..."

"...3..."

"...2..."

"...1..."

"...Toll The Bells of The Undead Chapel..."

Then, the world went dark and nothing remained except the terrified count, his prestigious but deserted home, the six-winged reckoning and the thunder-crackling sword. The concept of the outside world faded from reality, and the area they occupied had been forcefully ripped from the root of creation.

"...The Bell of All Evils..."

In a flash, they were in a colossal chapel, overhead hanging a huge, building-sized bell being held up by thick, black chains. Somehow, the chapel was massive enough to accommodate not only the two men but also the house and then leave enough room for about five more.

"Toll, One Hundred Agonies."

And so, the bell swayed...

A moment later, the evanescent cries of pain followed, coming from the abducted count as blood erupted from every orifice on his body, including his lower regions. One cry already left his throat painfully dry, yet the torture had only begun. The bell tolled again, and more blood erupted from the man's body. Although this time, the distinct sound of bones breaking could be heard.

"You'll be stuck here for one hundred tolls of the bell. If you manage to survive until then, that is. Each time it tolls, another agony is inflicted upon you. Diseases, injuries and other kinds of torturous acts will be your only company here for the next... I don't know, a few minutes?"

"P-PLEASE-"

-TOLL-

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!"

"PLEASE STOP! I BEG OF YOU!"

The man continued to write in pain as his arms and legs were twisted in different directions, like wet pasta. The bell only tolled 3 times... which meant 97 more agonies would be inflicted upon the man writhing in pain.

Derflinger, however, didn't enjoy this one bit, "P-Partner, don't you think that's going a bit overboard?"

"...Perhaps. Should we put him out of his misery?"

Even without needing to hear Derflinger's answer, the male pointed one of his index fingers forward, and the floating, freshly upgraded sword obeyed his command, pointing the tip of its blade at the writhing man in pain.

"Pierce his heart."

-WOOSH-

-SPLATTER-

As fast as a lightning bolt, the sword pierced the tortured count's body and heart in one fell swoop, killing him instantly. Now with the man dead, the Reality Marble began to collapse. Cracks and ravines opened across the massive chapel, swallowing the corpse and the house of the former palace messenger, leaving no traces behind.

The blackness faded, and Ordell had found himself in the real world yet again. Sighing, he gripped the handle of his newly enchanted sword, tracing his fingers across its polished and atom-wide edge.

"Do you like the upgrades?"

"Like you even had to ask! This is fucking amazing! I feel like I can destroy a country!"

But Ordell only chuckled at his sword, a small smile spreading across his face as he looked towards the distance where he could still see the servants running. Hardly any time has passed in the real world, and so, he snapped his fingers, disenchanting the glowing golden halos. Fresh pieces of memory were fabricated inside the minds of the servants and guards, telling them false pretenses that the count committed treachery against the royal family, destroying his property in the process to get rid of the evidence and disappearing, never to be seen again.

"...Looks like I will have to reform this world at some point..."

//I love the GBE from Blame!, it quickly became one of my favourite weapons of all time. The thing can fucking blast through just about anything by firing a red beam of concentrated gravitons, and the explosion you see is the result of matter flooding back to where it once was. It's so cool!

Also Fate, kinda.//
